    Fried green tomatoes
    Denise H.

I saw Uncle Larry's on my way to visit my mom and decided we should try it for lunch! I ordered the fried green tomatoes and the white fish, beans, fried okra, and hush puppies for myself and the fried flounder , onion rings, Mac and cheese, and hush puppies. The fried green tomatoes had good flavor but were soft. Probably best eaten in the restaurant to retain some texture. The white fish has a bit of an after taste but my mom enjoyed the flounder. To me the star was those white beans - so tender and punched you with flavor! The disappointment was the hush puppies - they were not crispy, they were mushy. The gentleman who helped me was very friendly and informative about the menu. There is a good amount of parking. I would go back for those beans and go to Captain D's for the crispy hush puppies to go with them.

Catfish Plate with turnip greens, coleslaw and hush puppies

Absolutely amazing catfish, coleslaw and turnip greens! The service was great as well! The owner made sure we tried the catfish before leaving to make sure we liked it. if you're in the area definitely stop by and give it a try! Only complaints I had to not give out 5 stars would be no indoor seating, pricey and I was disappointed with the hush puppies. But the taste of everything made up for all of that! Thank you!

The food and service were excellent. The best catfish I've had in a long time! I'll definitely be back.

I went to Uncle Larry's on Brainerd Rd and got me a catfish plate. It was delicious‼

Great local fried fish options that are seasoned and crispy. Initially saw on a travel show and tried it out - did not disappoint!

Best catfish I've ever had! Family owned and their pride in their food showed. Amazing food and friendly service. A perfect combination.

We parked and before even going inside we went out front to take some the sun started to set too much. The mirror is done by a professional artist known for her beautiful wing designs. On the patio that we walked past to get to the inside was a live band playing, and there were a ton of cute dogs all over with their owners enjoying the music. It was the cutest sight. Inside there are 2 sections of the brewery, but they had the front closed so we couldn't use the back smaller part. I liked the small part to be honest with you. It wasn't super small, but it was much more quaint looking. Service was super friendly, offering us a samples of anything that we would like to try, but of course, we ultimately got a flight. Luckily for me , they also had the Lions game on so I was able to see the end of the game and our victory. They do have food on their menus, and I can definitely see us returning it to this location when we're in Chattanooga again.

Only the back part of the brewery was open, with an indoor and outdoor area, a couple TVs, and eclectic decor. They were running a promo: $3 for a 10 oz beer or $3 for a 16oz beer if you buy food. We got the Bird Watcher Kellerbier and Sunblaze American IPA -- both were fine. We also got the Mission-style burrito with al pastor ($11), as a Super Burrito ($2 upcharge for sour cream and avocado). This was the worst burrito I've had in a long time. Al pastor should be a balance of sweet and spicy; this was overpoweringly sweet. The side salsas had no heat, either. Mission-style burritos are known for their size, but this was a normal burrito, smaller than I would get at Chipotle. It took about 20 minutes to get the burrito which was too long.

The restaurant can be found on the lower level just below an ice cream shop. Muscadine vines climb a staircase to the right. On warm days there are a few outdoor seating options which I'm sure are hard to get. In doors were cozy filled with greenery. Seats and table had an American folk feel. I was interested in the beet burger. The day I went, I ordered the special any patty with mushrooms and Gouda. Great flavor! I expected the beet patty to be closer to beet texture. It wasn't very beet like in texture or flavor. It was pink like beets. If you don't like the earthy flavor of beets, you'll be able to handle this patty. I didn't try something new for my sides. I ordered tots-always will choose tots! They were good. My only complaint was that the bathroom lights were to dim! I look forward to coming back here, the next time I need an escape from N AL!

We were waiting for the server to process our checks but they never came. I had to ask where we paid. I personally would not come back but we really only went because my friend is gluten free.

Don't be put off by the simple décor or the fact that it's attached to a gas station. This place is where you want to pull in for breakfast or lunch. They use Boar's Head meats. That by itself is a big hint that the stuff they create will taste good. Never had anything Boars Head that wasn't good. I ordered the ribeye loaded on a sub roll. The picture I posted looks good, right? Well the sandwich tasted as good as that picture looks! The ribeye may not be Boars Head, but still top notch for the price. Speaking of prices; show me anywhere else you can go get a great big breakfast sandwich or made to order deli sandwich anywhere near here for the great prices they charge. You can't. Great food AND a great price. My wife had a turkey on sourdough and said it too passed the yummy deli sandwich test. The staff was friendly, tables were clean, and the service was fast. Stopped in on a whim, and now will be back on purpose. Can't wait to try their breakfast burritos!

We tried a few beers from Five Wits and per her recommendation got the creamsicle shake as well. Solid beverage choices. The shake tasted part float part milkshake and it was absolutely delicious. Would order again. The food on the other hand was a bit eh. We ordered the Asian q burger and the mushroom melt burger and it took quite a while for them to come out and when they did they had unfortunately been left on the grill for way too long and were charred and crunchy. One set of our fries was cold and the bun to burger ratio was extremely off. Luckily, the staff agreed that our burgers were accidentally overcooked and they remade them no questions asked. The remade burgers were moist and better but still not fantastic. They were just burgers with minimal toppings on them. Not really seasoned and the flavor came from the toppings themselves. The buns were still too big for the burgers so there was a lot of extra bread and they have potential to be great but they were just average. Would have probably been a three star review but the staff and drink selection really earned the extra star. Would go back to drink and maybe snack but probably not order a burger.
