So I heard great things about this restaurant only to be disappointed. Got sat in a very quiet, not so busy restaurant. Got served chips and salsa quickly but then no server came by. Waited over 15 minutes and I had to flag the manager down to try to get help. 4 servers passed our table multiple times and still no help. One server was more worried about flirting and another serving her friends. After I flagged down the manager she said oh no, no one has helped you. I said nope not even drinks. She walks away into the kitchen and nothing a few minutes later, still nothing, so we left. Was really looking forward to trying this place. Guess I'll go to a different location. As a former server customer service is important even if you are busy acknowledge your table. I think a class in customer service is much needed. Never going back to this location. read more

Went on Cinco de Mayo but the waitstaff/hosts/kitchen are very efficient and we were in and out in a little over an hour. I got the combo enchilada plate- 1 cheese and one beef. We made a group dining reservation for lunch from 11 am to 1:30 pm before my son's wedding on Saturday at the Dove Ridge Vineyard that evening. They reserved the outdoor covered patio for our group with a minimum of 25 people. The final bill could be higher depending on the individual entrees ordered. Orio, one of the managers, met my wife and me when we arrived a little after 10:30 to decorate. She mentioned a gas leak; they would only have the stove to cook our meal after 11:30. We agreed, and the guests settled in for chips with the salsa, which she also warned us wasn't roasted as usual. She also mentioned that we would not be billed for the appetizers, which we thought was very gracious of them. Some of our guests arrived late and finally ordered our lunch after 12:30 pm, and we were all done a little around 1:45 pm. We all agreed that the authentic Mexican food entrees were delicious and some of the best Mexican food we have eaten at any restaurant. Our waiter was very patient and took good care of the entire group with all our requests. After paying the bill, I left, and we moved on with the wedding. We were pleasantly surprised to get a text from Uncle Julio's the next day that they would refund the entire amount billed to my credit card because of the delays. This extraordinary gesture so touched us because, as I mentioned to them, there aren't many other places in this world that still value good service and customer satisfaction. They offered this to us even though I noticed that I had missed a text from Uncle Julio's earlier that morning that offered to change the location of our luncheon. Too pricey for what you get. I was not impressed. There curb side pick up was well done though. A little bit of a wait though even when it wasn't busy. There's way better options than this place and I'd be very suprised if I even return to this place. My wife and I stopped in today for our two year wedding anniversary lunch. We always pick Uncle Julio's for celebrations because we know we will get great service and the food is always on point. Deborah our server, took outstanding care of us. We split the Guadalajara (fajitas and bacon wrapped jumbo shrimp) and it was completely mouth watering. The steak was cooked to perfection. We highly, highly enjoyed our meal! Marcello, the manager, came over to check on us and even helped us as we were leaving as we had forgotten we left an energy drink in the car and he went out of his way to grab a cup of ice for us! I deviated a bit from the norm and instead of just doing the fajitas, I rolled with the Guadalajara: combo fajitas with bacon-wrapped shrimp stuffed with Monterrey jack cheese and jalapeno. Needless to say, another great choice from Uncle Julio's. It really isn't even fair offering bacon-wrapped shrimp with their sublime fajitas. My cousin and fellow yelper ordered the La Paloma and was instantly in love with the quail. She seriously would not stop talking about it for the next few days. I tried the happy hour strawberry margarita but it was to sweet for my taste. We got the table side guacamole and it was pretty good.... However... It had a bunch of those black pieces in it, which they shouldn't have allowed in for table side.... Flavor was "good" at best, for the price their regular guacamole will suffice for me next time. My aunt had this bacon wrapped shrimp which she says is phenomenal... I'll take her word for it as I was full and didn't even try it. Service was good, nothing special but he did a good job. Crying Uncle for Uncle Julio's! Took my wife here for the first time, though I've been several times before. We loved the fresh guacamole, which is made right at the table! The food is always awesome and while this place gets busy, we've never had to endure a wait. The music, decor, and other happy tables make for a great ambiance. There's also ample outdoor seating, for those that like that sort of thing. Service has always been great. Also, if you ask for your drinks to-go, they put them in plastic cups (read: reusable). I've had fajitas, tamales, and enchiladas. My only disappointment is being too full to have dessert (yeah yeah, not a real problem, but I always try to make room for it). We been to Uncle Julio's around 3 times. The times that we have gone, we had to wait around 20-30 minutes to be seated. Their Queso Blanco is good. They give complimentary chips and salsa. Their fajitas are good, but their fajitas portions are small though. I tried their Fresca Shrimp Salad once, not something I usually order when I am at a Tex-Mex restaurant but it was good. We have been here for 2 birthdays and both times they have ordered the Chocolate Piñata ($33). It's a chocolate piñata that is filled with pieces of pineapple and strawberries, and mini churros and on the side they add chocolate sauce and whipped cream. They give you a small hard wooden stick to break the chocolate piñata. Uncle Julio's is one of those restaurants that if we go, it's because someone invited us to go eat with them at Uncle Julio's. It's not really a restaurant that we would frequently go to for Tex-Amex food. Giving it a 4 star just because of their food portions being small. This is probably a good place to come during for Happy Hour. read more

It was recommended by local colleagues, but not the same as other location. When rush hours kicked in service went from great to bad. The server can't remember what drink do yo have (key for all server). We have seven people and they give us a six people table. This is TX and space shall not be a matter. You want people order more food, then you need them to have more space. The server almost burn his hand and drop the iron plate!!! The manager was clueless about managing table and timing of food serve. Seven people lunch on the weekend with additional service charge. I appreciate that they are trying to make improvements, but it was already a well loved restaurant and the changes just aren't necessary and don't make things better. The new tiny glasses with a water pitcher set on the table just meant that we didn't have water most of the time. We drank the pitcher and it was never refilled. Yes, we could have asked but we had other drinks and we shouldn't have to ask. The old big glasses were much better. The new wood block they use as a fajita tray is bulky. It takes up a ton of space on the already crowded table and the little cups for guac and sour cream are so tiny. You get about 1/3 of the amount of guacamole you used to. Very disappointing. The host stand is in such an awkward position. Why is the desk not facing the door? The host has their back to guests as they walk in and guests can see "behind the scenes" since it's turned to the side. Our server also made us feel super rushed. He wanted to take our full order almost immediately when we sat down and asked about 3 more times not very far apart from each other from our order. Fast service is great but there's a limit. Okay so we've past this place I don't know how many times, and like us all we say "we have to try that place" so that time came, the area is a little tricky to get to, parking spaces were a little tight and not well marked so you have people parking really close, (so if you are bringing a new car, park on the road) it took almost no time to get a table, your greeted immediately and, there sits a bowl of warm chips and salsa at your table, the wait staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, not overly done, appetizers were quick to show up and not long after that our food showed up, let's start with chips and salsa, the main staple of any good Mexican restaurant, this is the first experience that sets the meal to come, good chips and salsa you can bet it's good food, theirs were okay not a Wow moment just good, the Guacamole and the Cheese Queso were better,I ordered shrimp fajitas and my wife ordered fish tacos, the fish tacos were cold which I don't know if that's how they serve them, my shrimp was the small size, size of a quarter, at first I was unsure of this but soon realized it was nice to eat, where the larger ones are usually overcooked, the tortillas were good not amazing, they make them in house and they are a little too thick for my taste, I make homemade ones with lard and they are thinner than most, and these were missing that tear effect, but overall not bad, but overall the food was more like TExMex than Mexican food. read more

Tiny tables with giant fajita platters make for a crowded dining experience. Even with small tables it was so loud inside that I couldn't hear the person next to me. The service was substandard and cramped quarters made for an uncomfortable meal. I am sure the service would have been better if the servers could hear us and if we could hear them.
