Five Carne Asada Tacos

Friendly Gentleman at the drive through. Literally SHOWED me the extra salsa he was putting in the bag whereas, say, "Maestro Taco" says "iTs iN tHe bAg" only for you to drive all the way home and find out you have no salsa for the ten tacos you ordered. Stellar seasonings and great salsa. I can not stand by this place enough after the experiences I've endured in the past. Thanks Taco Master(s) for the great eats!

No correct change. No napkins. No sauce. No silverware. No customer service. Go to Papi's.

Nice little cafe feel. Service was great! And we were both very impressed with our meals. Real deal. Authentic. We'll return soon.

Great food will definitely be back for more. The barbacoa burrito is one of the best I've had.

Wife and I went here for lunch around 11:00. Got the Platillos Gorditas and split it. Absolutely delicious. We will visit again.

Still fantastic food, and now there's actual ambiance! Tablecloths! Best of both worlds.

Delicious burritos. Clean and friendly employees. I ordered the mushroom burrito, small corn cup, and had a roasted pepper on the side.

The outdoor seating is so charming lush plants, colorful flowers, and a peaceful fountain that makes you want to stay awhile. I had the chicken fajita bowl, and it was fresh, flavorful, and hit the spot. The margaritas were definitely tempting but I behaved and stuck with water... next time for sure. Only minor thing, there was water on the floor going into and inside the bathroom, which could be a slipping hazard. A "wet floor" sign would definitely help. Beautiful atmosphere, relaxed vibe. Such a great little getaway in the middle of the day.

Eating inside is technically a shorter wait, but still takes forever. As a party of two, we waited about 45 minutes just to get inside, and the outdoor wait looked even worse because of the extreme hype surrounding their patio/outdoor space. That said, one thing they do really well is letting you order margaritas while you wait. Getting a pitcher made the whole process a lot more tolerable, and honestly, you have to do it. The margaritas were easily the best part of the experience. Once inside, the atmosphere was underwhelming. It's about as standard as it gets for a Mexican restaurant, and it didn't feel like much effort was put into making it memorable. On top of that, it's cash only, which in 2026 feels pretty outdated and inconvenient. Service was friendly, but slow and pretty absent throughout the meal. We didn't feel particularly taken care of. The food itself was just okay. The fajitas were fine, but nothing stood out or made them worth the wait. Overall, this place feels really overhyped. The margaritas are great and definitely help the experience, but they are doing a lot of the heavy lifting here. Without them, this would have been an even lower rating.

The interior and exterior of Buena Vida is warm and inviting. The staff were friendly and quick with our order. There are plenty of areas to sit and their menu offers a variety of options. I opted for the barbacoa and chipotle lime tacos with a side of borracho beans. The beans were flavorful and paired well with the yummy tacos. My friend enjoyed her tacos as well. My meal satisfied me without feeling stuffed. I look forward to my next visit.

Our original plans for the evening were thrown off due to…read morenot knowing which places in the area were open when, so we opted for this place since it was accessible and the parking seemed to be more reasonable than others in the area. They're your typical trendy taco place, with their own selection of merchandise and crazy/cheesy jokes strewn about on t-shirts and signage. They have an ample bar space, but it looked like only one patron was interested in that; the rest of us were there to eat. You order your food at the counter and get a buzzer to come back and pick it up. The staff is friendly enough, but you don't really interact with them much since it's all pretty much self service after you go to the counter. The drink station has cane sugar based sodas; it's a bit heavy on the foam, but otherwise good. We opted for the birria pizza, a couple of cups of pozole, and a side of elote. Everything was solid. The elote was good, not great, but the pozole really hit the spot given how cold it was outside. The birria pizza is what blew me away, though. This was easily one of the most unique, but tasty, things I've ever had. It's not really a pizza, more like a topped quesadilla, but they did a great job of it. I'd not only come back here next time I'm in Fort Worth, I'd be interested in opening a location in Houston if I had the money to franchise it.
