Chicken tacos
Christopher O.

Came in here for lunch after it reopened. Service was fantastic and our waitress was very attentive. The salsa was slightly bland but the chips were fresh. The queso definitely was creamy and had ok flavor. The Baja fish tacos were good and the mango pico in the salsa was refreshing. The chicken tacos were unfortunately very bland and tasted like they were boiled in water. This place has some good spots but also needs some work.

We decided on an early dinner and hopefully take advantage of Happy Hour prices. We didn't want to sit in the bar area, so we asked to be seated in the dining room. Since we were there for early dining, we asked Miguel, our server, what was available for Happy Hour. He shook his head and said nothing in the main dining room, only in the bar area. Unbelievable, oh well, unsweetened iced tea for the two of us. Since we hadn't had Uncle Julio's fajitas before we decided to split an order for one between the two of us. A hot basket of chips and salsa were soon delivered to our table. Unfortunately, the chips and salsa were underwhelming. In our basket there were several clumps of chips stuck together and were really greasy. Someone in the kitchen wasn't stirring the chips in the fryer well enough. Since the salsa was only OK, we didn't request replacement chips. In a flash, our chicken fajitas, were brought to our table sizzling along with all the accompaniments. In our honest opinion, the fajitas were good but not great. They did have a very nice Mesquite grilled smokey flavor. We left the restaurant with full tummies. Miguel did provide very attentive service during our visit. There were several disappointments during time at Uncle Julio, no happy hour prices in the dining room, so strange, the chips and the so-so fajitas.

The Uncle Julio's in Austin closed so I always try to make a stop when I am in the Dallas area. The meal starts with free chips and salsa. It is hard to find a restaurant with good chips and salsa, but this is one of them and I am a fan of both. The chips are served warm and are thin and crispy with a good crunch. I love their margaritas that are fresh and made with muddled fruit. My go to order is the Guadalajara that includes mesquite grilled bacon wrapped jumbo shrimp stuffed with Monterey Jack and jalapeño with chicken and beef fajita meat served with flour tortillas, Mexican butter, cheddar cheese, guacamole, sour cream and pico de gallo. I added diced tomatoes as well. I am not a fan of the Mexican rice or beans. We were able to split the fajitas and there was generous portion size. My favorite dessert is the Mexican piñata, a one of a kind smashable dessert that has fruit and churros inside of a chocolate ball. The restaurant was busy but the server was attentive and efficient. Overall a great dining experience.

Wow... WTF! After all the hype... so disappointing! Not at all the place we've all come to love over the years! Food, service, atmosphere... ALL sucked! Not a good welcome back... sad!

I recently went here with my friends after the remodel and I was pleasantly surprised. When I walked in I saw a more modern approach of a Tex mex restaurant. The waiter got all of the orders correct and was kind even though some of his customers were not wonderful. I ordered the chicken nuggets the fries were salted perfectly but the texture was mushy and not very crunchy. The tenders were crispy and were moist on the inside.Overall the restaurant improved.

Use to be my favorite fajitas returning after being shut down definitely not the same sad to say horrible fajitas over cooked and cold. This will be the last for me.

The service here is always fantastic! They are very conscious of any good allergies. The fajitas are amazing shrimp, check cken and beef always perfectly cooked and flavorful. We live the table side guacamole is always fun and we can get it the way we like it. The building is always loud so be aware.

First visited this location in 1991. Same tasty Tex-Mex all these years. Friendly service as always. Perfect chips, salsa, & queso. Plenty to try on their menu, so you can't go wrong.

The outdoor seating is so charming lush plants, colorful flowers, and a peaceful fountain that makes you want to stay awhile. I had the chicken fajita bowl, and it was fresh, flavorful, and hit the spot. The margaritas were definitely tempting but I behaved and stuck with water... next time for sure. Only minor thing, there was water on the floor going into and inside the bathroom, which could be a slipping hazard. A "wet floor" sign would definitely help. Beautiful atmosphere, relaxed vibe. Such a great little getaway in the middle of the day.

Eating inside is technically a shorter wait, but still takes forever. As a party of two, we waited about 45 minutes just to get inside, and the outdoor wait looked even worse because of the extreme hype surrounding their patio/outdoor space. That said, one thing they do really well is letting you order margaritas while you wait. Getting a pitcher made the whole process a lot more tolerable, and honestly, you have to do it. The margaritas were easily the best part of the experience. Once inside, the atmosphere was underwhelming. It's about as standard as it gets for a Mexican restaurant, and it didn't feel like much effort was put into making it memorable. On top of that, it's cash only, which in 2026 feels pretty outdated and inconvenient. Service was friendly, but slow and pretty absent throughout the meal. We didn't feel particularly taken care of. The food itself was just okay. The fajitas were fine, but nothing stood out or made them worth the wait. Overall, this place feels really overhyped. The margaritas are great and definitely help the experience, but they are doing a lot of the heavy lifting here. Without them, this would have been an even lower rating.

I noted their beautiful Mexican pots with fabulous plants around the establishment. We were seated and waited on quickly....ordered margaritas, which was a little bit difficult, because I don't understand Spanish and it seemed our waitress knew little English or we just could not understand her. This was frustrating, can you imagine how long it took us to order the meal. Once done when the chicken & steak fajitas came out fresh and sizzling. Chicken was tender and seasoned perfectly where the steak was tough & bland. The wrong beans were brought, but OH Well, no big deal They have a variety of dishes to select from. (See Photos of Menu) The establishment was handicapped friendly. Was clean on the inside and out. As we ate and drank our drinks, the waitress seated, a lady and her 2 children, one being a very young behind us. Immediately the baby started crying and no break, never quit. That was it for me !! Got a to go box and we were out of there. Lenise, my good friend said her sister loved the place, so now we can say .. we tried it. Hope you have better luck, have a good day.

So since mom passed away, everything is pretty poor here! I mean food is still pretty tasty but the service, the expectations, the food presentations. They need a lot of work! The son of the owner is FREAKING LAZY!!!!!! Dad was working the kitchen today and he's in the front of the house being LAZY AS ALWAYS! If he's your server RUN AWAY and come back later or ask for better server. He's entitled. He NEVER EVER comes back to check on you. He avoids eye contact. He'll take your order and then sit down to play on his phone or watch TV. Then take food from the window throw it in your table and never come back. Sit back down to be on his phone. There are 2 servers that are very very good, tall white guy and one lady but the rest are TRASH!!! So if you are looking for great food but can overlook the service this is the place but sometimes even the tasty food can't overcompensate the service. We might not comeback for a bit. Oh and we also saw the son today took our server tip from our table and put it in his pocket! And he didn't clean our table at all. He just pass our table, pocket the $7 and left. And he did not even wait on us at all today! I hope that girl got her tip back! So that was the turning point for us for a while. Watch out for him when you leave cash tip for your server.

From the moment the chips and salsa hit the table, I knew I was in trouble in the best way possible. It tasted like something your grandmother makes without measuring anything, just cooking straight from memory and love. I was told to try the menudo. Normally, that's a dish I approach with caution because it can be a little much for me, but she swore by it. One spoonful in and I wanted to walk straight into the back and hug whoever made it. No exaggeration. The flavors were deep, balanced, and comforting. You can taste the patience, the experience, and the passion it takes to make a dish like that the right way. The service was just as memorable as the food. Warm, welcoming, and genuine. You can tell this is a family affair, the kind of place where everyone cares about what comes out of the kitchen and how you're treated at the table. Los Asaderos Mexican Restaurant is the kind of spot that reminds you why local places matter. I'm already planning a return because there's no way I'm leaving this menu unexplored. This is comfort food done with heart, and it shows in every bite.

They're your typical trendy taco place, with their own selection of merchandise and crazy/cheesy jokes strewn about on t-shirts and signage. They have an ample bar space, but it looked like only one patron was interested in that; the rest of us were there to eat. You order your food at the counter and get a buzzer to come back and pick it up. The staff is friendly enough, but you don't really interact with them much since it's all pretty much self service after you go to the counter. The drink station has cane sugar based sodas; it's a bit heavy on the foam, but otherwise good. We opted for the birria pizza, a couple of cups of pozole, and a side of elote. Everything was solid. The elote was good, not great, but the pozole really hit the spot given how cold it was outside. The birria pizza is what blew me away, though. This was easily one of the most unique, but tasty, things I've ever had. It's not really a pizza, more like a topped quesadilla, but they did a great job of it. I'd not only come back here next time I'm in Fort Worth, I'd be interested in opening a location in Houston if I had the money to franchise it.
