Food was ok, although hair in the Quesadilla was a bit offensive. Manager said he would "take care of it" and did nothing but remove the offending entree. Folded cloth napkins were damp to wet, had to ask for new ones. Wait staff was the only saving grace. Attentive and quick to respond. The "front of the house" could learn from his waiters. read more

It is definitely not worth the price. The quality of the food was not the best. We had carry out. I ordered the chicken fajitas, gross. The chicken looked and tasted like it came from a frozen bag. They were thick chunks and not cooked with the onions and peppers. There was also some pink in it. Then we didn't receive tortillas. 40% of the food was trashed. The kids meals were okay, except my son didn't get his rice and beans. My husband wasn't to pleased with the Steak Quesadilla, but he said it was edible. Anyways, for the triple digits we paid for the food, not worth it. Exxon near WAWA sells better Mexican food. read more

Floor is unreasonable slippery and the tacos are too fruity. Waitress is in another world.

Their food and drinks overpriced. I do not mind paying $12 for a good margarita but they are small and weak.

Honestly a bit over rated. Was excited initially having had their fajitas at other locations. Menu is a bit over priced considering the amount of chicken that actually came with my fajita dish. There are plenty of other non chain authentic restaurants in Annapolis that I prefer to visit. Ordered a drink not good at all didn't taste any alcohol in it (maybe they forgot that part). I understand they just opened and maybe all just a hiccup, but you know what they say about first impressions. I'll stick with the local places from now on. read more

I have visited this restaurant several times and they have not disappointed me. I have had good customer service and the food was very satisfying. I'm honestly surprised of the negative reviews poster on here. It could be the fact I went there when it wasn't busy. read more

Whenever I travel, I always enjoy going to new restaurants. This one was a success...I am so glad I went to Uncle Julio's. The food here is amazing, and all made from scratch, I loved when our server told us that. I was even more excited to try the food. The table side guacamole was a fun addition, along with the atmosphere. I ordered the fajitas, and was not disappointed. The overall experience was a good one with the food, but the service was lacking a little. It seemed our server was a litter busier than she could handle. But I would definitely go back!! read more

Started off great, made reservation on yelp, waited about 10 min at 9pm on Friday night. Initially server was very attentive but after we got our entrees we saw him once and ordered another round of drinks. After 20 min, no server, no drinks and my party had finished eating and gone out to fire pit. Cancelled drink order with another passing staff member. Waited to get bill from server, another 10 min before he returned with credit card. Food and drinks were great, servings were huge, table side guacamole was outstanding but unfortunately the whole experience was kind of meh because of the service. Server was apologetic but no explanation for delay. We're a pretty patient group and I left him a decent tip but am in no hurry to return. read more

The food was great but the service was lacking all 3 times that we went. The initial visit we just assumed that the service was slow because it was a new restaurant and busy. The following 2 visits were not at a busy time but the service was still very slow and items that were ordered were not sent to the kitchen. read more

Had a reservation for 14 last night at 8:15 to celebrate a birthday for our friend. We were seated quickly which was nice and here is were it goes down hill. 30 minutes later we got water. 45 minutes after we were seated everyone finally had a drink! Hour and 30 we finally got food but not all. Multiple people ordered fajitas. The had the fixings but no fajitas. Had to wait 20 more minutes for them. The rest of us waited and we all ate cold food. Then, poor waiter, will not say his name, had every check messed up. Took 45 minutes for him to sort it out after multiple trips to the table. Talked to a manager and he said it wasn't his problem. He was distracted by talking care of 2 ladies behind us. Maybe management should step up and help the employee who is struggling. FYI. No one said "my food is really good" 3 hrs for a meal is unacceptable! read more

Favorite bar to get margaritas!! Love the options and always made fresh - none of that commercial sour mix! Delicious!!!. Food is also delicious... thin, salty, warm chips and salsa are my favorite anywhere!! Wait staff is well trained and very friendly! Just an all around enjoyable place to go! read more

My husband and I had the best server this afternoon. Darshan B. was extremely attentive to our table. We never had to ask for more water or chips and salsa because he was so attentive. We had it before we had to ask. He offered us more rice and beans, again, he got to us before we could call him over. I asked if they had my favorite blackberry margharita, it wasn't the drink of the day, however he checked for me and yep, they just received a shipment of fresh blackberries. He was friendly and personable. When we go back we'll certainly ask for him. Thanks Darshan for adding to our experience! read more

I am writing this update after several attempts that have gone unresolved by management, regarding our dining experience. After dining at this location on Father's Day weekend, my wife and I became ill. My sickness was moderate, however my wife's was a more severe stomach illness/food poisoning. After writing the original review, management reached out immediately via email on this site, asked for a receipt, and told us that they would be contacting us directly to discuss the matter. They never contacted us; so I reached out to Jae Song, the manager who had contacted my wife initially via email to tell us that someone would personally reach out to us. When we spoke, I expressed my dismay about the fact that no one has yet reached out to us. He then told me that he would submit our claim once more to upper management, and that they would be contacting us in several days. That conversation was approximately three weeks ago. Needless to say, this incident occurred June 15th, and we still have not heard from anyone regarding any attempt to reconcile for our unfortunate experience. In my opinion, this is highly unprofessional and inconsiderate. And several weeks later, after a review was written by my wife, and now one by me, there has been no follow-up from upper management. I'm completely shocked and highly disappointed that this matter was apparently never taken seriously enough to warrant further dialogue exchange. I don't know who was negligent in the handling of our claim, but the fact remains that no one assured us of any possible preventative measures that can/will be taken in the future to avoid potential food born illness in their establishment, nor have we been accommodated in any way. My wife and I will not be attending "Uncle Julio's" ever again unless they're willing to resolve this matter in a satisfactory manner. read more

Okala was fabulous! He went out of his way to help our party of 7. He was very personable and we enjoyed our meal! Thank you Okala! You'll want to ask for him if you eat at Uncle Julio's. read more

I went to Uncle Julios on a Friday night and I enjoyed everything. The grapefruit margarita was incredible, the guacamole was very fresh. We got the steak fajita for two, which turned out to be more food than we expected. The service was good and everything was delivered in a timely manner. Would definitely recommend the bar for a fun girls night! read more

Best fajitas in the world- the food came out promptly and was very fresh. The service was outstanding too. The general manager Jay was amazing and was an outstanding role model as he was seen rolling up his sleeves making the tortillas. That type of grit builds a championship atmosphere, and no wonder this place was rocking tonight. read more

Good food, excellent guacamole. Usually very crowded, suggest making a reservation. A little pricey for Mexican food. Service is sporadic as they are always so busy and never seem to have enough staff. However, bartender is great--he is really quick and attentive. read more

I went and ordered lunch carry out and Hostess brought the bag to me and asked me to sign his tablet. When I got home my steak fajita was medium-well and I specifically said well done. I noticed on my receipt the Hostess had added a $6.06 tip (for what)? I called and complained to the manager and she stated I had to contact Headquarters to get my tip refunded since I had paid with a credit card. I did call only to get a voicemail and saying they would get back to next business day and this was around 5:00pm. I called manager back and stated why would she give me a number to a voicemail, she did finally agreed to give me the tip money back if I came back to the restaurant which I did go. Also they charge you a surcharge fee to order carry out which I have never heard of before. Please make sure you check your receipt good so the next Hostess doesn't think it's okay to add a tip without informing you first. I think this is a very sneaky scheme that he did and probably has done it to other carry out customers as well. read more

Have been a few times to this location; food and service are always very good. Only one small thing, I wish they had some more food options on the menu! Drinks are nice as well, not overly strong as in some places. Service is always friendly and attentive but not intrusive. read more

My wife took me there for Father's Day. She made the reservation through Open Table. When we got there, they had no record of the reservation. We showed them the email confirmation but it didn't seem to matter. So don't use Open Table to make your reservation. They don't seem to be in sync. We accepted to eat outside. Ok. The traditional chips and salsa. Except the salsa had a rather long hair in it. We told the waiter and all he did was get us another bowl of salsa. I assume from the same batch that had the hair. Was it reported to the kitchen? Do they wear hairnets? Who knows? It would be nice to know that they took corrective action. The food was delivered. No silverware. We asked and were given forks. We asked for knives. We were told they had to ration their knives since they were running low. It was 7:30. They finally came up with one for my son. Food was ok. But the staff doesn't seem to care much about the customers. I would recommend going somewhere else if you want Tex Mex. read more

You ever meet someone that everyone love and you just don't see what they see...well this was my experience at Uncle Julio's... we lucked up and found seating outside after waiting for about 15 mins.. ( not bad) .. Our waitress started out "ok" but slowly diminished towards the middle of the meal. The food was bland and COLD... Drinks were over priced and weak. I think the highlight of my experience was battling flies that were either landing on our food or on us... It was just 1 or 2 sporadically but more like 10 constantly. When I brought it up to the waitress he said "well that's what you get when you sit outside" ... Really woman?? I told her that in my past experiences while dining outside this was not my experience.. she rolled her eyes and walked away... The food is overpriced for the quality... you most certainly can find better food and service at another local tex mex restaurant. read more

Great Mexican restaurant, highly recommend the table side guacamole appetizer, the food was great and the service was good as well.

Today I went to Uncle Julio's and it was decent the service was pretty slow for the amount of empty tables.i got the cardi asada the steak had a bad flavor in my opinion and it was over cooked I asked for medium -medium well and got well done they also could not produce some the drinks that they advertised the desert menu is not very big either all in all this place is over hyped and not that good read more

There are several good family owned Mexican/Salvadoran restaurants in the Annapolis are if you're looking for good food. Uncle Julio's food is ok, but nothing to get excited about. If you call it Tex-Mex, you don't know what Tex-Mex is. Service was very good and decor is nice, but I agree with Brian B., the food is just OK. Actually, you can get better at Taco Bell. read more

Too crowded, too loud, too expensive. Ordered fajitas, veggies not cooked enough. Extremely pricey for what you get. Servers seemed stressed but ours was very polite. I'll take an authentic hole in the wall over this place any day. Nothing was bad, just not for me . read more

Let's start off good with the chocolate piñata! To die for!!!! It was absolutely amazing! I loved everything about it. The strawberries were incredibly fresh and sweet. Pineapples blended well with the chocolate and the blueberries were delicious. However, the churros were hard and inedible. A few were soft but I could do without. You can take it home as well because it's two day later and I'm still enjoying the fruit and chocolate. As far as food goes, anything with the steak and without enchiladas should be amazing. The steak was perfectly seasoned and hot. My fajita had steak, chicken and shrimp but I wish I had just gotten steak and chicken because they were mouth watering delicious. My boyfriend hated his enchiladas that came with his steak dish. That's the first time I've ever seen him NOT finish something. Also get the mango passionfruit lemonade, my boyfriend rarely gets juice and said that's the best juice he's ever had lol. read more

The food was good. Not a big menu to choose from. Service was ok but the hostess was not. Wanted a booth but gave us a table w/chairs instead. Hostess told us as we passed by an empty booth that it was given away. Then asked for a both in the back that was empty. She told us that it was not actually a booth. After we sat down she sat a couple in that booth! Need better training. Customers are not stupid! Don't think I'll be back. read more

Food was very basic, had no real flavor and my food tastes very plain. Thought I'd give it a shot, but all five people agreed we wouldn't return. For a chain restaurant I'll stick to Chevys. If I want authentic, I'll go to one of the local places or MI Casita. read more

Nice looking restaurant. The waiter (Andrew, I think) was nice and service was great. The fish tacos were okay. They just need more spice, more taste. The crema in it was also a little bland. The black beans were great, however. My daughter liked her chicken enchiladas and her spicy margarita. I loved my skinny guav margarita - yum! The only thing we didn't care for was the chips and salsa that is given out when you first sit down. I can't quite put my finger on it, but the salsa has a weird, almost unpleasant aftertaste. It was also warm. No shade, but I guess I am just used to Chevys. Still, will go again as we hear the fajitas are good. read more

Absolutely the worst restuarant experience I ever had and will not return. Sat at the Bar and waited for awhile before not being greeted, so engaged a AA bartender who was standing in front of us the whole time. Asked for the bar to be bussed and wiped down only to get a major attitude from her, so we decided to move to the cocktail section. Our server was no better, she was more worried about bussing a six top next to us than greeting us and taking our order. Finally, gave her the order and we waited for over 45 minute for food which came out stone cold. Sent 1 dinner back and ate the other because we were so hungry. No apologies, no can I get you something else. People next to us sat 10 later then us, ate and left as we where getting our food. When done, we waited so long had to go stand to to request check. Server never prebussed a single thing off our table the whole time. We stacked our plates and the manager came over and touched the table but never said a word. We paid and left vowing never to return. read more

Uncle Julio's Annapolis - Mexican Near Me - Annapolis, Maryland

3rd visit. We brought some friends. Service was very good. The food was good. The only complaint was the music was way too loud. It made it difficult to hold a conversation. And of course the diners raised their voices to be heard which in turn raised the overall noise level. Why do these places insist on having the music so loud? read more

I have been here about 4 times since it opened in Annapolis. The service has been hit or miss and the food has been consistently mediocre. The ceviche was good the first time and then tasted funny the second, the pork carnitas tacos were dry, steak soft tacos were all filling and little steak - and the prices are not cheap! The only thing that was great is the table side guacamole. I really want to love it since I have been to their other locations and had better food but I think that I may not be coming back unless I'm craving the guacamole only. read more

Went there and the experience was horrible. My son got Chicken & Shrimp fajitas and it was horrible. The shrimp were severely over cooked and rubbery. The chicken and overcooked and just thrown on the dish. My Carne Asada was not at all seasoned. Was just a horrible experience. The waitress was so busy cleaning tables to seat others she never even came back to talk to us or check on the food. We ended up leaving and going to another place to actually eat food. Managers excuse was that they were new and still all learning the ropes. read more

We went to Uncle Julio's last night for the first time. I made reservations 2 weeks ahead of time because that's the soonest we could get for 5 people. The place was slammed so I'm very happy we only had to wait 30 minutes to be seated. I got a margarita and it was one of the best ever. The food was real good. I got the taco salad and it was very good, but a lot of food. I brought half of it home. Hubs had the enchiladas and he liked it. I don't remember what the other 2 people had, but I know they said it was good. Unfortunately we were all too full to try the chocolate piñata, which seems very interesting. We will try next time! I will definitely go again. If you're like me and don't like to stand around waiting to be seated, MAKE A RESERVATION! Especially on the weekend! read more
