My favorite restaurant in Denver for sure. Some of the best ramen i've ever had in the US. Must try the soft shell crab buns as well

Uncle ramen Such a great spot for ramen! Maybe not great for large groups, but it was only a few minutes wait for our group of 3 on a Saturday night. The ramen broth was delicious with a rich flavor, and the whole dish was very filling. I'd definitely recommend the duck ramen. We also shared a plate of tonkotsu, which had perfectly fried breaded pork and a really nice light herb salad. I would definitely come back and specifically want to try the soft shell crab next time!

Another successful visit! Soft shell crab buns are a must if you visit! Yes the pork ones are great but these are simply delicious! Get out of your comfort zone and try something different. You will be grad you did! Service is always great and the restaurant is always welcoming and friendly! Come visit soon ;)

My husband and I shared: - Fried Chinese Eggplant Bun - Fried Chicken - Spicy Chicken Ramen - Veggie Khao Soi Ramen The Chinese Eggplant bun blew me away. I'm usually not an eggplant person, but it sounded interesting and our waitress sold me on it. If you get one thing, it should be this. I also loved the sauce and unique flavor combination on the friend chicken. Between the entrees, the Khao Soi was my favorite. This didn't surprise me because it's my favorite Thai dish and I tend to like it more than traditional ramen. That being said, the spicy chicken ramen was still very good. We went on a weekday and arrived right when they open. If you do this, it's not busy at all. 10/10, highly recommend this spot for great Asian food.

Most people know Uncle for their ramen (and it's fantastic), but there's so much more to love especially during their Summer Happy Hour, which runs Monday through Saturday from 5-7 PM at the Highlands location. I went recently and was honestly blown away by the variety, creativity, and flavor across the board. Some standouts: * Chinese Eggplant Bao: A sleeper hit. Crispy, tangy, and balanced. I'd come back just for this. * Chilled Tofu: I don't usually reach for tofu first, but this one was packed with flavor and super refreshing. * Romanesco: I wasn't going to order this until a staff member recommended it. Easily the best romanesco I've ever had. * Garlic Shrimp, Pork Buns, and Grilled Hanger Steak Wraps all hit the mark too. The space feels casual but thoughtful, and the service was great. If it's been a while since you've visited Uncle, now's the time to return. And if you've never been? Start with happy hour and you'll be hooked.

spicy chicken ramen (sub pork belly instead of chicken)

Actual rating is maybe closer to 3.5. Overall, I would come back here for happy hour to hang out with friends. The food is solid - it just won't blow you away. They have a happy hour menu Monday thru Saturday 5-7pm that has an extensive food section that is $3 off their normal menu price. I really liked their fried chicken that has an umami sweet fish sauce glaze. Their hamachi crudo and spicy cucumber was solid as well. Pork belly bao bun was fine - I just wish the pork belly was a little more flavorful and tender. If you are getting ramen, I recommend getting the spicy chicken ramen. This broth is most similar to spicy tonkatsu with the creaminess. I was able to sub out the chicken for pork belly instead - pork belly is not melt-in-your-mouth tender but tender enough. The shoyu broth in their chashu and duck ramen is pretty mid, so I wouldn't get this unless you have low spice tolerance. Service was friendly. Only street parking, but there were plenty of spots at 6pm on a Saturday nearby - the closer spots did fill up fast though.

I enjoyed this place! The atmosphere was really nice and it was cozy inside. The staff were also very nice. I liked the duck ramen I had but the broth lacked some depth in flavor even with the spice bomb. However the duck was cooked really well and was great! For the price and service i'd still highly recommend this spot

A light pork and chicken broth with duck, arugula, corn and a poached egg ramen! Super great for a cold windy day in Denver. It was a decent bowl of ramen but the arugula was a bit bitter for me! I'd definitely go back to try a few other dishes though. My friend is allergic to all legumes and the server took his time to check with the kitchen and marked all the foods to avoid for her. We loved how attentive they were and they were constantly coming back to fill our waters for us. Will be one of our stops to visit whenever we're back in Denver again.

Love Uncle. Such a cozy & happy atmosphere. Delicious food the ramen is always outstanding. We tried the new happy hour hamachi & it was delightful. We love the spicy chicken and the chasu ramens too. Sitting at the bar with a giant bowl of delicious ramen takes me back to Japan. Awesome spot!

Had to wait 45 mins, but there are some bars in the area to keep you busy. Crab bun was amazing. SO much flavor. Scarfed it down within a minute. My friend usually gets the pork, but he loved this. All the meat-ramen options have pork-based broth, which unfortunately I can't have, so I had to order the Thai curry ramen, and added some duck. That was also great, but I think they charged me an extra $8 for the duck, which is kinda ridiculous. Mocktail was delicious. Paid $44 for my 3 items. The appetizer cook was right in front of us, so we got to converse with her a bit, and she was chill. Ambience was bright, and authentically tightly packed haha, so you know the food's going to be good. 4.5 stars

Uncle is probably the most well-known ramen spot in Denver. It's not unlikely for people to think of Uncle first when finding a ramen spot. For as long as I've been in Denver, Uncle has had that reputation. Unfortunately, when I last visited, I was greatly disappointed. First off, the service was mediocre. We had to wait quite a while to place our orders and once we did, we weren't checked on until we were done with our meals. The seating is also a cool concept with groups of people sharing a long table, but with poor execution. The chairs were so closely spaced that the person next to me and I were constantly bumping elbows and I was barely able to get through with how closely people were spaced from table to table as well. The cocktail was great but when removing all the ice, there was maybe 3-4 sips left. The ramen was tasty but extremely salty and there was maybe 3-4 bites of duck. Overall, not impressed with the food either. I really want to like Uncle but with my last experience, I don't think I will be going back nor can I recommend it for now.

Delicious Ramen, great service and a cute restaurant! I tried the spicy chicken ramen and it was delicious. We tried the seasonal squash dish as well which was great! I'd recommend if you are in the mood for Ramen

Happy hour menu Uncle Highlands. 5-7pm weekdays. Cucumbers are always a standout. Also ordered the cauliflower, tofu, eggplant buns, Pad Thai, and Dan Dan noodles. Everything was exceptional Quick service with nicely timed food to give each item the chance to be enjoyed. A few small four tops and two tops and then three large community table.

Even the simpler dishes feel deliberate, which isn't always the case with izakaya-style menus. The atmosphere hits a nice balance: lively without being chaotic, cozy without feeling cramped. It works just as well for a casual dinner as it does for lingering over drinks. Speaking of drinks, the sake and Japanese whiskey selection is thoughtful and well-paired to the food. What a cute little place!!…read more It was late in the evening and I was getting hangry. I was craving ramen and Neko came up during my Yelp research. They were open late, so we decided to go. The restaurant was popping at 22:00 on a Friday. We were greeted warmly by staff. It was intriguing to us that we ordered via an iPad kiosk as if we were at a boba place, but we didn't mind. However, usually only to go orders are placed on a kiosk. In my hangry state of mind, I had not realized that Neko only serves their ramen with chicken broth, so for those of you who prefer tonkotsu broth, this isn't the place for you. For that reason, my husband had to order a chashu rice bowl instead. Personally, I enjoy both paitan and tonkotsu. I went with the black garlic ramen. It didn't take very long for our food to arrive. While we waited, we dispensed water for ourselves from the soda fountain. I was a little confused upon receiving my black garlic ramen, as I thought the black garlic oil would be more prominent. I was assured that I had the right bowl. My husband enjoyed his chashu rice bowl. I had a small bite and the pork was tender and well-seasoned. The paitan broth was very umami indeed. I would have liked to have more of a black garlic flavor, but it was still good. Next time I would just pay the extra $2 for more black garlic oil. The noodles were bouncy, and the chashu was tender. The egg was deliciously jammy (alas no photo because I devoured it). I saw they had soy sauce and hot sauce, but wish they had the classic chili powder so I could have added some to my ramen. Neko Ramen & Rice hit for late night noms, and the cat-themed decor all around (since Neko means cat in Japanese) was such a vibe. They also serve curry, poke, and various small bites if you want some apps to enjoy before your entrees. If you don't mind chicken broth for your ramen or will be ordering rice bowls instead, Neko is a fun little place to come dine at, especially since they open late.

You won't find fancy sushi here or fusion cooking here, but rather tasty home cooked style classic Japanese dishes. Dishes like Japanese curry, oyakodon, and other donburi and noodle dishes. Having been here multiple times, I cannot recommend this place enough for a homey style meal. No joke, each meal here makes you feel warm inside, like a good home cooked meal. It's comparable to many meals I've had traveling through out real Japan. The flavors are simple, but each dish is well prepared while emphasizing conform over fancy preparation. You just cannot go wrong with any dish here, though I'm partial to the donburi, the green tea soba, and the hot pot. And if the meal is not enough, there is a beautiful garden to enjoy. If you catch it at the right time, the cherry blossom in the spring is beautiful and transport you right to Japan. Overall, Domo is a place that I'm always down to visit.
