To start friendly staff but service is seriously lacking and slow to respond. Waiting for more than 60 minutes for a very simple order. A different waitress told us bigger groups good tickets get priority in the kitchen. Food came out with with wrong and not worth the wait. Ive had better bbq from a truck stop. Manager took off wrong item but still should've been correct the first time. Fries taste like they were never cleaned, taste like dirt! Pulled brisket was not worth it or the house bbq sauce. Our family of four when to this restaurant with only one night in Elyria. If you like smoked meat this is the place to go. The brisket was crazy good as was the burnt ends.The pulled pork was great too, but the cat fish was the best I ever had. The collard greens were the best side we tried. we got here at 5pm and we didn't get our food until 6:15pm. i ordered a pulled chicken and got a pulled pork, a friend of mine got a salad, which was warm when it got here. other 3 friends said their food was fine, but was not worth the hour wait we had. however, the vibe was nice, it was well decorated and the stage was cool. friends said the fries were good. we had good entertainment waiting for our food and being teased with other tables' food. read more

Ordered takeout on a Friday night when the family had a taste for BBQ. When we picked it up, they made sure to open each container and confirm the order was right. Food was delicious and plentiful. Only been here once, pre-COVID, and the food was nice, but it really felt like a food truck on steroids rather than a restaurant.

We've been to Uncle Bo's before and concentrated then on the barbecue items, which are absolutely first-rate. Tonight we had their new wood fired steak and it was fantastic! A choice piece of steak cooked just the way I like it (Medium) with a wood fired char on the outside that sealed the deal. I'd match it against any steak I've had, even those from so-called "upscale" steak houses. It's going to be a hard choice next time at Uncle Bo's---outstanding barbecue and brisket or a wood fired steak? Add in my favorite Uncle Bo's sides (baked beans, collard greens, and Jambalaya rice) and it's a delicious dilema to have in choosing. read more

The food has always been great from the smoked meats to each and every side offered. Authentic, home cooked style. The addition of the wood fired steaks takes it beyond great. Decided to try this place because we kept seeing it. Its was not busy which is odd to me for a Saturday night. Our service was good. The waitress was really nice and made she we had what we needed. The food on the other hand was very bland. Being from KC (BBqQ Capital), I am a BBQ snob. I know that no one makes BBQ like home but I still expect good food. We had the potato skins for an app and they were so bland. They had brisket on them and I bart tasted it. I saw it on top but the flavor wasn't there. The BBQ sauce was also sweet. Very sweet. Not used to that. I like full seasoned sauces and I didnt get that here. For our meals, I thought I was playing it safe by getting the catfish and a baked potato. The fish was nice but could have been fried for just a little longer. The crust kept falling off. The hubs had the ribs and he was not thrilled. They lacked flavor and were fatty. I'm giving it three stars because if the service and how clean the restaurant was. It was super clean. read more

3rd time here and I feel like it just keeps getting better. This time I had a Cajun Grilled Chicken sandwich with their AMAZING fresh cut fries. The brisket is super tender with tasty border. Hubby has beef tips & said they were good. Got a generous portion. I was a little underwhelmed by the Mac n cheese. The slaw was good with the brisket. It's sweetish without that cabbage bite. Don't bother with the roll. The corn muffin is the way to go. I had some kind of peach & white lightning moonshine drink. Took a pit stop here to eat on our way across the country. After reading the reviews we were excited to visit. The meat was cold and the insides of our corn muffins were still batter. 11/1/2019 After reading some of the negative reviews about Uncle Bo's and their supposed decline in quality and service I decided to stop and check it out firsthand. My wife and I had an outstanding meal and the service was great. My wife had the pulled chicken sandwich and she said it was delicious. I decided to give their Southern fried catfish try and I was not disappointed in the least. The catfish was fried perfectly and nicely seasoned. My collard greens were wonderful as well. There was also more than enough catfish to satisfy a hearty appetite. Our server was polite attentive and did an extremely good job. I didn't experience any of the complaints I had read about. If you want good BBQ or tasty fried catfish give Uncle Bo's a try. read more

You can ask for samples to make sure you want to order the type of meat you want. We tried all the meat except for the sausage and chicken. Good servings for the samples. Delicious and good portions for the meals. Very juicy, tender and flavorful meat. We ordered the two meat combo and the bayou burger with pulled pork.
