Fantastic. Definitely worth your time. Get a side of slaw and put it on the pork shoulder sandwich.

Great shaved ice, they seem to have improved the ice and the flavors are still top notch. Of course the BBQ is the real star. Also service - we noticed them help stranded foreign tourists deal with their car rental company by making multiple phone calls for them until the issue was resolved. Really class act. read more

The food is good, I live about two minutes away and have eaten there a handful of times. Here' is one thing that is consistent about Uncle Bobos. They hire kids with this attitude "I am a surfer and live in hawaii, I hate being here to serve you food and will act annoyed at anything you do or say." Someone on vacation may overlook or ignore this because they are excited about being in Hawaii. But it is enough for me to take my family (which by the way goes out once a week and would make this our spot if there was a shred of welcome spirit there) and go up to places like Kahuku Grill where the owner very often is there and is so welcoming you feel like he is about to give you a hug. Again I have been in Kaaawa for seven years and go to Bobos every now and then to see if the air has changed sadly it has not. I love barbecue and have tried hundreds of different places across the US. I can honestly say that this place has some of the best BBQ out there. Hands down the best food in Oahu. Very reasonably priced. The Pork Shoulder Plate was simply amazing. The Beef Brisket Plate was heavenly. Their unique BBQ sauce is to kill for. Make sure to grab couple of bottles before heading to the main land, as you can't get it anywhere else. Unfortunately, due to having to repack our bags at the airport, my only bottle ended up in my carry on and was taken away by TSA :( I hope the sauce will become available for shipping soon. Delicious food, super grinds, especially if you dont eat BBQ style too often, this is the place to go. Ive only gone twice and both times were almost ruined by the forgetfulness of the staff. First visit, the 4 of us ordered sandwiches and fries with each. We all got our sandwiches, one of which was the wrong one and no fries. We asked to see how long our fries would take and they said soon. Maybe 10 min later, after we finished eating we had to ask again and said soon. We just decided to leave. Second visit, the 3 of us ordered our food, two plates and a sandwhich. We were the only ones there, by the way. We waited maybe 5 min, the cooks still werent doing anything in the back. Then maybe 10-12 military men and women in uniform come and start ordering food. What do you know, they start getting their food right away. So we asked for our food, the cook looked surprised and started cooking our food. So i just want this review to be read by the staff so they can make changes. I love your guys food. Just have to have your employees on top of their work. I want to keep coming back. read more

Best pork shoulder sandwich ever! Seriously the juiciest sandwich I've had in a while. The coleslaw on the side was the perfect compliment.

The food here was amazing and the customer service was outstanding. My family and I felt very welcome and at the end had our stomaches full. The ribs and the brisket are off the chart and the French fries are amazing. The bread on their hotdogs are made from scratch and are absolutely delicious. I would recommend this bbq joint to every on Oahu. My family and I had been here for a week and Uncle bobo's was definitely our favorite place to eat. We wish we had discovered this place sooner so we could have eaten here again. Uncle Bobo is now our new favorite Uncle! read more

This is the only place to eat in Ka'a'awa, aside from 7-11, therefore the only option for locals to eat within walking distance. The food is overall yummy, however the past several visits Ive had to wait incredibly long for the food. The male worker in the front is not very friendly at all, poor customer service skills, never smiles and appears a bit cocky. The food is overpriced, especially the beverages. I ordered a hot dog, which said is comes with onions and relish, which did not come. After a 20 minute wait for the hot dog and fries, I had to wait another 15 minutes for the onions and relish (after having to ask twice for it) and by that time my food was cold. If the service was better, quicker, and food priced more reasonable, this would be a good fit in Ka'a'awa, however I think we need a place that would cater more towards local people and the community. read more

The bbq ribs are crazy good-tender and full of flavor. My wife and I devoured a pile of them in no time. We came at 6pm-they had been closed for an hour. The open sign was still on so we scooted in. The owner and assistant were gracious and friendly. They were out of coleslaw, but gave us extra "redneck" beans and some cornbread. They have unsweetened iced tea- a rarity for North shore- Mormon area and much appreciated to wash the goodness of ribs down. Nice folks, good ribs. read more

Food was great!! I had the pork shoulder and my husband had the brisket, both were great. The portions were larger as well for the cost. The young man who waited on us was very nice and was asking us about or visit to the island. He also shared a fishing story and pictures. I always wanted to try this place just because it's a little "hole in the wall" on the windward side that i pass on by every now and again. So the other day i decided to stop in when i should have just kept on driving by. I decided on having one of their specialties, The brisket. I don't think anyone yelped about the prices here. All i know is i have 2 bucks change out of a $20, for a plate and a large drink. But, hey... "when in Rome"... so i had to at least try it. They aren't joking when they placed the sign about not being a fast food joint! After the 30 minute wait i finally got my order. I opened up the plate and i thought, "DAMN!!! Inflation is rough nowadays!" lol I had about 4 ounces of thinly sliced beef over a bed of rice to make it look larger than it actually was, a potato-mac salad, and a bit of bbq sauce. The beef was ok, the sauce was very blah, tried to fix it with the many hot sauces with no avail. I would give the food 3 stars at most, but for the price i'll give it a 1. The thing was as i was waiting for my food, another customer came in. A young couple with four 6-10 yr olds. I watched as the employee(mid 20, hwn.- poch. mix) took their order. I don't think i have ever heard a more rude and cocky SOB in my life! If he were talkin to me.. I think i'd have to offer him a massage of his face. The other 2 local boys next to me were even in shock. After degrading this guy in front of his children I really wanted to apologize and tell the tourist and his fam that this is not how we treat people in Hawaii. I was totally disappointed in this place and hope that they read this review and really reconsider how they're doing business. Especially their service to locals and tourist alike. The food is well worth the drive to the other side of the island. I got the ribs and pulled pork sandwich. The ribs was so tender it fell off from the bones. The meat is so tender my dad who has no teeth can eat it. It is better than Tony Roma's. They bake their own bread so it is very soft and not chewy. They have a smoker in the back. We got there before 6:00 on 8/21/11 it was our 29th wedding anniversary. The web site said they are open till 7:30 thought we had plenty of time. We have been there a few times before the service is always slow a little over priced and the tables are always sticky. We know all that and still decided to take our money there. Big mistake. They close I guess a little before 6:00. Take your money around A Couple miles down the road to KENEKE'S they have great food huge plate for the price. It's clean and they even smile. The other week i was at bobo's after a rather long day of sight seeing and i ordered their BBQ pork shoulder plate and i must say it was delicious. very good food and awesome mac salad. the owners are so kind and the workers were nice. its a really nice picnic kind-a place in a beautiful town(the mountains are amazing). i also had a monkey business smoothie and it was by far the best i have had on the island, nothing like it. i will definitely go back to bobo's on my next visit to ohau. read more

Man was this place good!! Well worth the stop. This place has amazing Bbq ribs and pulled pork sandwiches. I have had a lot of ribs from many areas and these were up there in taste and price. The people working were very friendly and welcoming. They make the meat fresh and the ribs have a lot of meat on them. They have pretty good mashed potatoes and gravy that come on the side with the ribs too. The ribs and the pulled pork come with bbq sauce on the side but the dry rub they use had a great taste. If you like bbq good then this is hands down a place you must stop at. We stopped here the last day of our trip but wish we stopped here earlier so we could have got more. read more
