Maksim and his crew were incredible. Our previous mover cancelled on us last minute and these guys stepped up big time on short notice. They showed up on time and extremely energized. They all had smiles and were extremely polite the entire time. We moved a 3 bedroom townhouse in 3-4 hours because they were incredibly efficient. They had all the tools to disassemble and reassemble our furniture and we're very quick at it. They covered all our furniture with blankets and plastic to keep them clean and damage free. Their truck is huge too so no worries on fitting everything. At our destination we had a very narrow stairway with annoying posts and sharp turn into the door (see pictures) and they got our huge sectional couch in no problem. They also were careful to put the correct boxes and furnitures in the correct rooms. We have all moved in and unpacked now and found nothing broken or missing. Would give Zero rating had there been an option. I was a returning customer as the owner Maxim had provided good service 2 years back but with expanding business, he has now hired highly lazy, inefficient, under equipped and arrogant workers Alex and Vagram - WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE TO HIRE THEM. Alex is supposedly 10 years experienced but I have never seen a mover as unfit and inexperienced as him. They did multiple damages to our new house as shown in the photos. They are not physically fit guys who can lift heavy weights easily, they are highly inefficient workers who take lot of time to figure things out for moving - ultimately damaging and charging exorbitant price at the end for the worthless work they do. They took more than 8 hours to move a 2bhk apartment stuff even though everything was packed except two beds and a sofa, that too for moving once only between cities 8 miles apart. For the first hour, they kept carrying 2 boxes/2 lamps in elevator from 4th floor to ground floor at a time, WHO DOES THAT? They just tried to kill time to charge more by working leisurely until we called and complained to the owner Maxim. They tried to move the sofa (standard IKEA sofa) and dining table in and out of both old and new house for almost an hour, SEVERELY DAMAGING OUR WALLS OF THE NEW HOUSE and then left it outside the house without taking it in saying they won't move it in and said "it's your sofa, you figure out how to move it later, we are done!" Also saying, "these damages are easy fixes" Seriously??? Then after we argued that how could you abandon these outside like this, Alex asked for $300 for just disassembling the sofa and moving it in!!! At the end when we called Maxim to report to him the situation, Alex finally agreed and disassembled the sofa in few minutes and took it easily in right away. Professional movers can figure out in one glance if they need to disassemble anything or not instead of wasting time trying and at the end damaging and finally abandoning things outside the house. They don't even carry motorized screw driver to disassemble/assemble things faster, no shoe covers - making our new house carpet completely dirty, no elastic belts to drag things - leaving stains in our new mattress, no step ladders to reach higher things - we had to provide them ours, don't have enough rugs to cover the wood and carpet surfaces of a new house - so be prepared that everything will get dirty, WHAT CRAPPY MOVERS ARE THESE?? NEVER HIRE THEM EVER!!! I had read the bad review about them few days prior to my move and had requested Maxim that he should come himself instead of letting them come for my move. He didn't inform me that he is not coming and is instead sending them. During the move when I reported to him my bad experiences, he kept calling to coordinate to help the situation and at the end he charged us for 6 hours instead of 8 hours. But giving discount is not going to solve all problems. Hiring good workers and training them is!!! Shifting is already stressful, the added mental toll during the move due to such bad experiences makes it even worse. Most importantly, who takes care of the severe damages done to a new house at the end??? Why would someone hire you if one has to take all these extra headaches???? read more

UPDATE: I recently received an email (9/12) from the owner (Max) disputing my YELP review. Let me be clear - I will not delete my review about the services received from your company! I had emailed the owner (Max) way ahead of time, with links related to the furniture that required assembly at my new location - includes a new chair and kitchen cart. He claims to dispute this as well - but I have the email proof. In addition, he actually insults me by stating in the email "... I tried to communicate with you, but it was a bit hard to explain that everything was up to the plan as too much emotions from your side." Ummm...hello?? Are you serious about writing this to me?? Last, I have posted photos of the dents on my new rolling desk cart as proof. When the movers arrived at my location, I instructed them to be very careful about my possessions. The younger of the two workers did not listen and did not use any blankets to wrap my rolling cart! He basically shoved it onto a wheeled dolly and stacked more boxes on top. Again, I encourage others to seek a different moving company. Normally, I am a reasonable person and very communicative with the people I work with; however, in this instance, using this company was a really bad experience. The owner did call me, the day of my move, to inform me that they were running late from a morning job - which is fair enough. However, they were running 2-hours late! I have been exchanging emails with the owner (Max) weeks ahead of time discussing the rate ($128.00 per hour @ minimum 3-hours), services involved, and time/date of the move. I even sent him photos of items that were to be moved, furniture that required disassembly and reassembly at my new location. He sends me information about "double-drive time" and assures me that the movers can do everything for me, including assembling furniture. When the two movers finally arrived, they had no clue what the job was about, and proceed to inform me that I had to sign the contract before they would work on anything. Next, they tell me that if I don't pay in cash, the company will charge a higher rate of $138.00 per hour instead if a credit card was used. I was absolutely livid!! During email communication, the owner stated he took all different types of payment - but NEVER mentioned the higher rate using a credit card. During the move, I told the movers to be very careful about the new Autonomous sitting/standing desk, rolling cart, monitor and TV. The younger of the two workers didn't give a damn about my personal possessions, and actually scratched and left a dent on the corner of my rolling cart!! When the two movers finally arrived at my new location, they did put my boxes away and then proceeded to assemble the furniture. However, the two workers suddenly stopped everything and asked what arrangements I had with the owner about the furniture assembly. I had to explain the situation to him and then he contacted the owner and asked me to speak to him (Max). The younger of the two workers stated "...we're just workers, he's our boss. We're just here to move stuff". I ended up with an argument with the owner over the hourly rate and his explanation of "double-drive time" for the movers and then he quotes me a new rate of $80.00 per hour for the movers to assemble my furniture. During the argument over the phone, the owner (Max) gives me a sales pitch "....come on, I'm on your side on this matter. You pay for the move and then pay the workers a different rate for furniture assembly". Really??!! Do you actually think it's cheaper for me? It was a long, hot day and everyone just wanted the whole ordeal to end! Again, I would not recommend this company to anyone! Do NOT hire!!!! Contacted U-Move and scheduled an appointment for 3pm today. Everything seemed fine until about 2:40pm I get a text asking, "What time did we schedule for again?" They say they are stuck in Vacaville traffic and need to extend the start time until 5pm, "Would this be okay?" Not really, but we have to move today and I don't have much of a choice right? So we take the extra time to finish packing and have dinner. 5pm comes and no one so I call to ask for ETA. He says he is in San Francisco and has to call me back to let me know how long it will take him to arrive. But earlier he said he was in Vacaville?? Just sick of this terrible customer service- more accurately absolutely no customer service- we just hired other movers. I sent UMove a text telling them we had to hire someone else because they were not getting back to us with ETA and they were already going on 3 hours late from the time we had originally scheduled. Much later, he finally he calls me back to tell me I have to wait another hour, but I had already sent a text telling him I already hired someone else!! His response to my complaint about how horrible all of this is, "Well as long as the job gets done and you are happy." I am absolutely in no way shape or form happy at all. The lack of insight of this person is also horrible. How could he even say that to me after all of this?! Worst place ever. Definitely give them a chance for your move. We had an in state move from a 4 bed home to another one few miles away. Maxim and crew were professional from the get go. He did a video walkthrough of our home to give a detailed quote and also a "not to exceed" price so as not to nickel and dime you on hours unlike some other run of the mill movers. We had a last minute change in date which he was able to accommodate even though might have been a pain to reschedule his crew plans. They cane in time the day off, had two trucks since we had a big house and four crew worked tirelessly for around 12 hours to get us to the new home. They also helped with some of the fragile packaging (just let them know upfront). All in all, excellent movers so have them in your short list. Recommend them. read more

These these guys were fantastic to work with. I found them on Yelp two days before I moved out of my long-time, third floor SF apartment. I took a chance on them since they are new and didn't have many reviews yet, and the gamble paid off! Maxim was very communicative and clear about cost and timing. They were very careful in the way they handled all of my things and asked many questions about how I wanted my items wrapped up or carried and where the items should be placed in the new location. They arranged everything neatly in their truck and then arranged it all carefully in my new basement (see photos). They also disassembled and reassembled my bigger furniture efficiently with care. They packed our three Uhaul u-boxes to the BRIM on Memorial Day. They were super thoughtful and careful to pack everything properly and as efficiently as possible.
