Not bad, I wouldn't wait if we were pushed to second seating. It didn't take that long to serve, obviously frozen lobster but it's the experience matter, eating in a summer day outdoor on stone street. So all the outdoor and indoor tables were filled (note, it rained earlier so the outdoor seats might have been wet, but that is not going to stop ppl from getting their lobsters!) You can see all the patrons just ordered the $26 lobster special. So everyone was wearing their little bib and busy cracking and eating away. We got really lucky, that we only waited for 30 minutes and got seated indoors We got: The 1.5lb lobster, a potato, a corn on a cob and a draft beer. All for $26 (before tax and tips)! Honestly, I can't complain since the lobster was really big and I was def full from my meal. My one small comment is, I do think the lobster was slightly overcooked and a little bland. Luckily, you can get some salt and pepper to season it and it comes with butter for you to dip your lobster. Even though the place was busy, our server would still occasionally come over to check in on us to see if we needed anything, which was really sweet Glad I went and I hope the pub keeps this deal! Monday night $26 lobster and beer special. I'm always a sucker for anything hyped up on social media that's supposedly a "good deal". Obviously, so were all the other people on the line for the 4pm opening. Honestly the line was not that bad. Looked worst than it actually was. Lined up around 3:30pm and sat down by 4:05pm. The hostess service is a total thumbs down. Totally attitudey. So many tables in the alley area and she wanted to seat our party of 6 right next to the long line when there were a good number of tables to pick from. After asking to sit at another table in the same area, we received some unnecessary comments that were not appreciated. Even 20 mins later the area was still quite empty so not sure why she insisted we needed to sit next to the long line with people hovering over us to eat. Sometimes polite persistence wins and we got to sit another table. Waiter service and bus service- amazing and attentive even though there are so many customers for the special. Waiter came right away to take our order, bring water and supplies for our lobster feast. The Monday special consists of a 1.5lb lobster, corn on the cob, potato and your choice of a draft beer. Great price BUT since it's so popular now, the quality of the food is just not there. The main attraction lobsters are NOT fresh at all. Spoke with waiter and asked why all the female lobsters are obviously missing the tamale aka lobster brain (my fave part) and he said they precook the lobsters in the morning and remove the tamale to keep them fresher. My family loves eating lobster and the lobsters don't even taste like they were alive from the morning. The texture is semi mushy and has a weird aftertaste. I'm not sure if it's cause of the hype now and they need to pre-prepare the lobsters ahead of time but lobsters taste a little off. No seafood taste and a bit tasteless. Otherwise this is great deal. But there was already a line of 30 to 50 people ahead of me. From when I got there to when I got my lobster, it was about 52 minutes. I can't believe I got dragged down to Stone Street for a party, but here I am. This spot is decently large, but it's packed, dark, and full of recent grads hitting on each other or whatever they do these days. Make TikTok videos. Who knows. Visit Date: February 25, 2023 I came here with my friends to see Rubix Kube again because they are awesome. One of my friends and I do not drink alcohol but we had to ask multiple bartenders before we got one to honor the free drink it said we were supposed to have on the printed ticket. Our one friend that drank ended up with 3 amaretto shots. It got super crowded, expect this place to be extremely crowded on a Saturday night. If you want any chance at getting a seat get in early. My friends and I had to stake out a space at the bar and eat our food standing. When the show started we couldn't see anything until we managed to sneak to the front of the stage. So also be mindful you might want to try to get a spot in front of the stage area ahead of time as well. i've been to the bar twice with my friend. First night was a Saturday and it was packed, I mean so packed. The atmosphere was finance bros. If you find a table it becomes tolerable, food and drink are quite over priced. But it is the best pint of Guinness I have had in NYC. The staff and the bartenders are so so so nice and welcoming, even when it's slammed. The off night we went was a Monday and tbh it was very chill and comfortable, staff was always attentive and friendly music was great, I'm looking forward to the live music they offer on some nights. Once I finally find it and entered there isn't a host at the entrance so it is hard to tell who works there and ask for help when I was trying to locate the party. Came here with a few co-workers for an outdoor lunch, and overall Ulysses has decent food, delicious drinks, and all of the FiDi bro culture you could ever ask for. I ordered the mezze/hummus plate which had a perfect combination of dolmas, hummus, and veggies. I wanted to go the healthy route which is why I went with it, but their vegetarian options are lackluster in general. Next time I'd go for their veggie burger or grilled cheese. The drinks are delicious, and after one of my friend's found a fly in her drink, they immediately made her another one. Let me preface this by saying I've been here a couple of times over the years, but I have only gotten the Lobster Monday special, which is $25 lobster + beer/glass of wine. That does alone is AMAZING!! Lobster was very delicious and you could drench it in the butter they give you. My one qualm about this place is the service, or the lack thereof. The place seemed very understaffed - I don't know if that's the case on other days of the week, but at least the most recent Monday I went, I saw only 1 bartender for the first 10 minutes of being seated. I've been here twice on weekend nights, and both times have been strange. Many many young girls who were clearly beyond wasted, guys who are looking to take these girls home. Bartenders should be cutting people off but this doesn't seem like the case. Dealt with an incident last night where a girl was barely able to stand and a guy was trying to kiss her and take her home. She wanted help so we intervened and got the guy "kicked out" only for him to come back in to try to get her to go with her again. Security did not care about this girl because "she's a regular and it happens often". She was either drugged or over served. Regardless, I hope she made it home okay and this whole experience left a horrible taste in my mouth. Too many men running this place who don't care what happens to these young girls. read more
