An unscale steak house in fidi with sections inside. We made a Resy and was seated upon arrival. We chose to sit in a quieter section which was very nice and peaceful. The staff was welcoming and friendly. it was nicely dimmed and a cute place for a date night. We honestly were not that hungry that night, but wanted to go out to have a small snack. We enjoyed the crab soup and the crab cake, both which was delicious and very flavorful. Definetly a different experience from the King crab in Chile and the crab in South Carolina, but very delicious in its own special way. The soup was thick, yet tasted so smooth. Harry's has always been a beloved fixture downtown, a spot I was eager to try. The ambiance was definitely lively . The service I experienced was excellent, but unfortunately, the food fell short. The mac and cheese was disappointing; it had barely any cheese and lacked flavor entirely. As for the pecan bread pudding, it was the worst I've ever had. Instead of pecans, it was mostly filled with cranberries, which the menu didn't even mention. It resembled a raw slice of pound cake topped with ice cream, rather than a proper bread pudding. The fillet was mediocre at best, and I doubt I'll return. On a positive note, they did serve filtered water that was quite good the first time. However, the second round of water, also marked as filtered, tasted completely different--definitely not the same quality. And the house-made steak sauce? It was disappointing at best. Bread is served with a nice salty butter and we enjoyed the Caesar salad, fish special and a filet. I would have offered up a 5 star but the steak was a bit bland and not seasoned very much. What a great spot for an upscale dinner/steakhouse vibe. The staff is superb, very attentive (our water glasses were never allowed to decrease by more than a quarter without being refilled), all of the courses came out together at the same time and they checked in with us at each course to ensure we were enjoying. We had a head waitress (captain) and two waitstaff who helped bring out dishes, change our utensils between courses, serve bread etc. The space itself is large and beautifully decorated dark red. They have both tables and booths and the restaurant is nicely spaced out so you don't feel you are on top of anyone else. While the service and ambiance were superb, you come here for the food. The beef wellington lives up to all of the hype and the portion is generous, probably the largest I have had anywhere. But lets start at the beginning... After they take your order, they bring out a fluffy dinner roll for each person (tasted like challah to me) and as were were a group of four, two containers of butter (nice not to wait/fight over one). For my appetizer I went with the jonah crab cake and boy did it not disappoint. Perfect texture (crispy outside, soft inside) served over a slaw with a creamy sauce. It was a good size crab cake, but I wouldn't have been mad if two came in an order. Really fantastic, if you like crab cakes, you will love this, I practically licked the plate. Others got the baked clams (got rave reviews, and the sauce alone is reason enough to order this dish) and the tuna tartare which comes with lettuce and bread chips. For my entree I had to go with the beef wellington as it is my favorite and it came as two large thick slices which they then poured a brown truffle sauce around so that the wellington was almost sitting in a lake of sauce. The meat was cooked perfectly and the crust was still flaky. It was superb and very filling. I also tried the prime cajun boneless rib eye which was delicious and went well with the sauce. Also a large serving and the meat was cooked to a perfect medium. The lamb (chops and loin) was also divine, not because the meat was good (which it absolutely was) but because of the mint jelly that came with it which had serrano chiles and fennel and is one of the best sauces I have tasted to accompany meat. We also ordered a side of garlic broccolini and hash browns. We enjoyed both, but the hash browns were REALLY good. Overall a fabulous meal, we all left feeling very full, no room for dessert. When you go out for an expensive meal, you want to feel it was worth it and I can assure you that this was. I would 100% go back and recommend it to others. Been wanting to come here for a while and finally did for a pre Valentine dinner. We started with the Cesar salad for 2. It was table side made and it was delicious. We had the dry aged bone in ribeye and the beef Wellington and boy it did not disappoint. The meat on both entrees were at a medium rare and it was melt in your mouth good. The truffle sauce on the beef Wellington was rich and full of flavor. It complimented the beef very well. The ribeye was cooked perfectly and it was precut for us. We added the mushroom and puree potatoes for our sides. We didn't have dessert as we were so full. The staff was very attentive and great to tending to us. The dining room was slightly dark to give it a more romantic feel and the decor gave it the old school steakhouse feel. I am pretty conservative about handing out 5-star reviews. I walked away thinking I would leave 4 but after really questioning myself, I really could not find a single reason why Harry's isn't a great restaurant.   I want to start with the staff. Wow, I loved the service. Host and server made good conversation and made sure I was well attended to. The host told me about how they film Law and Order SVU here, which I will need to tune in to catch. Server pointed out that my check total was angel numbers (it seems that I am undergoing a major transformation in my life) which I thought was cute. They do have a coat check at the door, and when I asked to take my leftovers home, they packed it up for me and gave me a ticket to pick up the packed up food with my coat at the front!   It was my first time here and I got a little confused because Harry's is in the basement, and Harry's Side Bar is street level. Just be aware of that. The restaurant is so classic New York and feels 'wealthy'. The lighting is a little lower and there are private pockets around the floor if you're looking for something quieter and more secluded. It's an environment that definitely oozes class, cool and calm.   For lunch I ordered a Caesar salad and the burger and fries. I was only able to get halfway through it before asking for the rest to be packed up, but what a solid meal. One of the best Caesar's I've ever had. The dressing on this is so perfect. The burger is big, with fresh, crunchy veg. Just solid. And the fries... loved them! I wish I had asked for a mayo/aioli dip because I know they would've paired perfectly. Instead of regular dessert, I opted for a cappuccino which was very strong, but tasty nonetheless.   I loved it here and I really can't wait to go back. It's not stuffy at all. There's music playing and the bar is lively. We ordered the bone-in ribeye, medium-rare Pittsburgh style, the shrimp scampi squid ink linguine, and the garlic broccolini. All of the dishes were fabulous! I loved the sear on the steak and the medium rare was perfect. The shrimp linguine was also good, it has a hint of spiciness to it and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. The bread roll was just standard that came with dinner. The ambiance here is amazing! The star of the shows was honestly their sides, the Mac b cheese was super well balanced and the mashed potato outer was just amazing and not bland at all. The asparagus was perfectly cooked as well. They were out of a some of the sides and some of the cuts of meat, which is a little disappointing because it meant needing to spend an extra $20 for a cut of meat, but that just happens sometimes. The steak was a perfect medium/medium well cooked! The lamb chops were perfectly cooked as well but a little bland. Of course the loin was a little rare due to its thicker cut. The wait staff didn't really check on us, which was a little sad because it was my sisters birthday, but they were by no means rude at all. Dinner was about $300 including two drinks. Which were both decent. You also get a complimentary piece of Bread each. For a $300 dinner, it would've been nice to request some more bread or know that it was an option. This is one of our spots for a weekend, brunch. I love to go for the burger, which is on point and also the champagne brunch where you can for an additional charge order juices to accompany the brut, which is nice. The ambience to the restaurant is generally nice and when it is really busy, it does feel a little bit however, mostly it has been a really nice comfortable experience. Service is always on point. We were still holding our forks and knives while eating and they approached multiple times asking to clear our plates. Came here due to a recommendation from a friend and I am so glad I did! The service was above and beyond . We had a cocktail at their sister bar, and the bartender took the time to walk us over to the restaurant and to the host stand. Every staff member was friendly and greeted us with a smile. The food was just as outstanding as the service. For starters we had the deviled eggs with caviar, baked clams, and tuna tartar. The clams and tuna tartar were so fresh and tasty. Our mains were the ribeye and lobster risotto (the special of that night). Everyone who comes here says they are known for their beef wellington, which although true, the waiters all agreed that the ribeye is the real show stopper on the menu. I am not a big steak person, but the ribeye was probably the best I've ever had. Of course the lobster risotto was delicious as well, and was a good pairing with the ribeye if you're sharing with someone. We ordered the creamed spinach, polenta fries, and madeira mushrooms for sides. I know fries at a nice steakhouse seems like a bad choice when there are so many other 'better' options on the menu, but the polenta fries are not your usual fry. They were more like thick cut potatoes, crispy on the outside, and soft, almost like mashed potatoes, on the inside. We also got the creme brulee and berries and cream for dessert. This was probably too much food to order, but everything was so delicious I don't regret it one bit, even though by the time I left I was so full I probably looked three months pregnant and I didn't feel hungry again until lunch time the next day. Birthday dinner celebration for two. I loved walking into this institution on a corner location giving old New York vibes in the historic financial district. The interiors delighted my visual senses - lush red booths, dimly lit glass liquor cabinet walls. Recessed dining area and elevated tables lining the perimeter of the restaurant. Overall, an atmosphere fit for a romantic or casual dinner. We both ordered the bone-in ribeye steaks and found it to be one of the best steaks we've eaten in NY. We had a few glasses of wine and ordered the trout deviled eggs to start. We also devoured a few sides of Yukon gold potato puree and fresh cut French fries. LOVE their branding on the plates, take away bags and the custom match boxes - always a nice detail. Luckily I had leftovers and was able to extend the enjoyment of Harry's the next day. Harry's Side Bar and Harry's Steakhouse are New York institutions. Since 1972 Harry's has been a legendary haunt in the Wall Street area of Lower Manhattan. It's the place where movers and shakers go to make things happen. It's also the perfect spot for an elevated experience in a warm and welcoming environment. If you like a refined old school steakhouse this is your place. The service and food are excellent and the cocktails are exactly the excellent quality you'd expect from a fine steakhouse. The Martinis and Manhattans we ordered came with a side caddy with your extra cocktail in a carafe on ice. It doesn't get more spoiled than that (Photo # 3). Their specialty cocktails were much more creative than I've seen at your typical steakhouse. I had a lovely scotch cocktail called Ross-Shire Fizz (photo# 1). It was perfectly well-balanced for a complex whiskey cocktail served over a large cube. The funky spin is it was topped with champagne (hence the fizz). It was excellent. I was here for a corporate holiday lunch. We were sat in the back room which was nice. Much quieter than the main area, if a bit snug. I chose from a pre-set menu and had the shrimp cocktail, hanger steak, truffle fries, and chocolate cake. The shrimp were huge. Plump and tasty. The hanger steak was cooked medium and it was quite flavorful. Dessert was great. It was a good meal. The only thing I'd complain about is this: I had a very nice Hemingway Daiquiri here a few years back before the pandemic, and when I asked the waiter to have the bartender make me one of those, what I got back was subpar. The first indication was that it came in a wine glass and had ice in it. It should be in a martini glass. When I tasted it, I noticed the levels were off. This drink did not have the proper balance between sweet and tart. Disappointing. It used to be on the menu. Maybe the fact that they took it off the menu should have been fair warning for me to not press my luck, but I wanted to see if they had the institutional memory to do it justice. Been here maybe too many times at the bar but Friday was just the third time eating here at a table. I used to come every week to get a drink with Sandra and Santos. Working in finance sucks but having a rye manhattan during lunchtime makes it sucks less. Haven't seen her lately but have 1 meal at a table with Don and this is the second time with Alex. The vibe is different than it used to be. Seems like younger crowd but maybe that's because I was there on a Friday night when I normally came during weekday business hours. I've never had a martini come out so fast. Must have it batched or maybe had an extra one ready but it tasted as good as fresh! Do yourself a favor and try it with gin. Normally a dirty vodka guy, but they may be changing my mind. Only criticism is I like the big martini glasses and they give you the tiny one with the refill bottle on the side. My wife loves it though, so I shouldn't complain. It's not Michelin-star fussy service but can tell they're on it. My wife swears she didn't tell them it's my birthday but they showed up with a little ice cream scoop. Wish they served lactaid too!
