This place has been on my list for a while, finally visited for a holiday gathering with friends. Location- I feel like once you see the front of pub it just fits on the block. Inside was more spacious than I expected. The booths were comfy and the tvs were great for watching sports while catching up with my friends Food- must tries for me was the potato wedges, chicken schnitzel with all the sauces (get them all) & the bangers & mash. The only thing for me personally that was so-so was the oysters kilpatrick. Thought they were good but not for the price tag $21 for 3 pieces Service- tentative and great! Knew their stuff!

What's not to love about an Aussie pub! This is a true ny-take on an Aussie classic which is perfect if you're feeling like a taste of down under. Memorabilia on the walls will remind you of Aussie classics from movies TV and books or media. The TVs are always playing the footy. And you're guaranteed to hear an Aussie accent. The menu features some great classics. Including Bourke St bakery pies and sausage rolls. They also have an Aussie burger with "the lot" - i.e . Beetroot, pineapple and a fried egg. Chicken schnitzel and Parma, bangers and mash, and hot chips with chicken salt and wedges with sour cream and chilli. They have recently introduced a Sunday Roast with lamb, chicken or squash, served with crispy potatoes, veggies and a Yorkshire pudding. Trivia on Tuesdays is also a fun event! When they first opened it was really packed so you would often have to wait in line. It's settled back into a nice rhythm now.

We absolutely LOVE Old Mates! Food and service are the best in the biz and the authenticity is bang on! While I've been a number of times, it was my dog's first time and he was treated like a king! The staff were so welcoming, friendly and accommodating; we had the best arvo at Old Mates!

I came here with a colleague for dinner. The menu posted outside piqued our interest, but the place was extremely lively upon entering. There are several floors, and we went to the second level. We went on a Friday, and it was around 7:00 pm. It was super crowded, so I was surprised that we were even able to snag a table. Once seated, we order cauliflower bites. These were tasty but really hot (temperature). For our entrees, I ordered the fish and chips, and she ordered the seafood linguine. We both enjoyed our meals. I know my fish was piping hot--I'm pretty sure I burnt my tongue. Old Mates definitely doesn't serve lukewarm food. It's a cool spot, but it can get very crowded. The service was good, no complaints there. Old Mates is worth checking out.

Absolutely fantastic in every way. Huge bar. Great beers. PERFECT food. The chicken salt on the fries...best I've ever had. A cracking good time all around. This place is loud, like can't hear your mates loud, and the crowd is young. But Old Mates definitely lives up to the title of best new bar in the city. Bartenders are hot.

New, nicely setup authentic Aussie pub! Food was excellent. Meat pies were outstanding and the best deal on the menu ($14 each, super flavorful and filling). The fish tartare was beautiful, delicious, and great for a lighter pub option. Honey carrots were like candy. Showed up at 3pm for a late lunch, not realizing they were not open for lunch on weekdays. The staff was super nice to my daughters, offering them to use the bathroom and being very apologetic. Thankfully, there's a lovely little playground across the street, so we spent 45 minutes there and then returned. They sat us before 4pm opening time, which was above and beyond. Food came out fast for the hungry kiddos. It's right across from Pier 17, my favorite NYC summer concert venue. Will be back before shows and can't wait to try more of the menu.

First time at an authentic Australian pub, with a bunch Australians either visiting or living here now. Came for trivia upstairs, which was SO FUN. The chicken schnitzel was great! Grab a Spinning Around from the bar, super delicious cocktail. We're already talking about returning very soon.

Met up with a friend here and it was such a fun time! Devin G, a bartender there, was so sweet and was super lovely to talk to. Quiet but a very spacious pub that is the perfect HH meet up/early bites grab.

The space just like when it was Trading Post is three floors. They put a bar on the second floor, which was a great idea so you have used through the window windows of the South Seaport. I wasn't overly crazy about the menu, but it was limited the bigger menu wasn't available when I was there so maybe it has a more interesting selection. I just had the prawns which were very good and fresh. Brock Quinn the entire staff was very friendly, which gave you a more of a local flavor which is what the south seaport area in general gives you I'll definitely be back.

We got dulce de leche waffles, brekkie roll, and hole in the wall power bowl. Dulce De Leche Waffles- You get a crisp waffle with caramel mousse dulce de leche that is rich and creamy with the right amount of sweetneas. Finished with banana honeycomb and freeze dried raspberries. Brekkie Roll- Starts off with a brioche bun with crispy bacon, scrambled eggs, white cheddar, hashbrown, scallions, and a savory special sauce. Served with a side of fries. Very filling! Hole In The Wall Power Bowl- If you're looking for something healthy, this is the way to go. You get quinoa, mushrooms, roasted yams, grilled broccolini, marinated feta, and cilantro. Creamy samval emulsion ties everything together and finished with toasted seeds. Great experience overall!

It moved pretty quickly, the host took my name and she texted me when our table was ready. We were fortunate to be able to sit outside which was a real perfect. The air is cool and we were in the shade. The best part is the experience was the service. Everyone was great but Anthony went out of his way to be helpful. My wife chose a latte with almond milk; me-the usual hot black coffee. She liked her coffee, my coffee was meh. Not bitter but a bit sour, not as fresh as it could have been. My wife chose the, avocado toast with packed eggs, that she liked. Not the best, but, pretty good. My Power Bowl was delicious. It comes with a sambal sauce they they improve in house. OMG, it was about the most delicious sauce I've ever enjoyed. The croissant that I completed my meal was good, not great. Overall it was a pleasant experience. Not amazing. I'd consider coming back but I have my other favorites that I'd go to first.

The toast was really nice and tasted good quality and was nicely toasted. The big brekky was not as big as I would expect but was decent in terms of size and flavor. the toast also came with the brekky and that was good, and we had substituted halloumi for the hash browns and the halloumi was good overall fast service and good quality food. the avo toast was good in portion size and flavor; the big brekky was not big but good in flavor

Paired well with EVERYTHINGG. Tandoori chicken schnitzel and farmer harissa salad was both good in its own way, crispy chicken clean oil to elements of mediterranean spices, bestie loved that mango chutney and fresh cucumbers on top of the schnitzel. I had the harissa lentil salad, nothing to rave on but that Lemon aioli from the pork belly croquette pairing, was so good on everythinggggg i repeat! more than the green sauce that the salad came with. The dessert mascarpone on the banana walnut was my personal fav with coffee subtle flavor and toffee bits but bestie enjoyed the bread more than I, the edges were kinda dry. Bathroom downstairs and its clean i like paper towels. But the service staffs were friendly and very attentive.

They had outdoor seating some people were occupying at the time. I had a glass of wine and the rigatoni. The menu is pretty small, especially if you are a vegan or vegetarian. The rigatoni was good however. My food came out before my glass of wine. Thought it was weird that the bartender was organizing glasses and other back of house things before getting to my glass of wine. I was sitting at the counter so I could see what was going on in the back. Odd way of prioritizing tasks when the restaurant was essentially empty. Prices are average for the area. Service was ok. I see this place is always crowded on weekends but not sure why, it was pretty run of the mill.

Citizens has 2 locations in NYC (Soho and Chelsea) and two in Texas (Houston and Austin), but it's an Australian cafe. The menu is great - tons of options. I had a hard time choosing what to order; did I want their Big Brekkie (an Aussie take on English breakfast, I think), green goddess shakshuka, salmon eggs...? Despite drooling over the menu, I was a little underwhelmed by the food. Being at an Aussie cafe, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to try Vegemite, so I ordered their Vegemite Experience (Vegemite on their cheddar biscuit three ways: with butter, with cheese, and with smashed avocado). Unfortunately, there was little Vegemite on the biscuits that I could barely taste it. Kind of a bummer. Since I was ordering the Vegemite Experience, which was carb heavy, for my main, I ordered their Morning Glory Bowl (couscous, kale, pickled cabbage, miso mushrooms, avocado, feta, beet hummus, pumpkin seeds, poached egg, za'atar pita chips, and lemon herb dressing). It was fine but it just tasted a little bland, a little underseasoned, a little boring? My husband ordered their cast iron baked eggs (chorizo, poached eggs, red pepper, potato, cannellini beans, feta, spinash, toasted almonds, aioli, pickled onions, and toasted sourdough), which he really enjoyed. He also thought the Vegemite Experience wasn't Vegemite-y enough, but he loved that chorizo egg breakfast. I appreciated that they had non-coffee drinks; I went with one of each: one cappuccino and one fresh juice - but they also have cocktails, wellness lattes, and more. We had a reservation for 9:45 on a Saturday morning, and I definitely recommend making a reservation if you don't want to wait (it was full throughout our visit). The service was great, and the vibes are good. I just don't think any of the food is something I'll crave enough to return, but it's a charming place for a healthy Aussie breakfast.
