My friend and I came here for brunch. The interior was bright and airy, with classic decor. We were given comfortable booth seating. The restrooms were on the 2nd level, which was modern, artfully decorated, with unique architecture, showcasing a spectacular view of downstairs. For my meal, I ordered the Breakfast Sandwich, which consisted of scrambled egg, bacon, and cheddar on an English muffin, along with a side of tater tots. I asked if the egg could be made fried over hard, but was told it has to be scrambled. No big deal, many restaurants have a no substitution policy. However, the egg didn't actually come scrambled. It was more like an egg patty, which would probably be my least preferred method of preparation. The egg was soft, but on the bland side. The cheddar was nicely melted on the egg, giving it a little flavor. Bacon was delightfully crunchy and well seasoned. The English muffin was quite dry, so I am not sure that was the best bread to use. Tater Tots were satisfyingly crispy and full of wonderful potato taste. I had to try the Banoffe Pie for dessert, which is a banana pie with graham cracker crust, along with a generous helping of dulce de leche, thin layer of banana, a sprinkling of lime, topped with chantilly cream. Strangely enough, I actually don't like banana as a fruit, but I enjoy it in desserts. This Banoffe Pie was simply delicious! That Dulce De Leche was perfectly made, rich, creamy, and sweet, while the lime added a fresh element, and the cream was oh so fluffy. The graham cracker crust was also oh so mouthwatering, toasty and brought everything together. Service was pretty good. Our waitress seemed to know the menu well and everything came out in a timely manner. However, there could be more food options to accommodate those with allergies. My friend couldn't order any sandwich because all the bread contained dairy. I think she had to settle for Bacon and Fries. I most likely would not return. read more

Management very kindly turned on screens to some of us fans who were turned away from the parade so we could still watch it. Minutes before it was to start, I took a video 360 because I was amazed at how many people stopped and how magical it was. NYC comes together over grief so often, it was so nice to come together over joy. This place turning on their screens was about to make them the heroes of our story. And then they turned it off at 10 am on the dot. And called the cops on us. For absolutely nothing. I checked the photos. There were more people for game 5. We were all ready to spend money and be joyful. And by seating us there for 45 minutes and turning it off right at 10am, they also kept us from finding other options. Joy killers. Dont spend your money here. They want NYers money but they def don't love NYers. read more

We were looking for a quick bite before seeing a movie next door, and Sadie's is a welcome new addition. It's a bright, open space with a bar area, comfortable seating and curved skylight with hanging plants. The cucumber spritz was a refreshing mocktail to start off with. The crispy fish sandwich was crispy, loaded and pretty tasty on a potato bun with a side of fries. The breakfast sandwich (scrambled eggs, bacon, cheddar on an English Muffin) was quite good, and came with tater tots (a little salty). Service is a little bit slow, and I think they'll get better over time (they just opened a few weeks ago). Our server Che did his best to keep everything moving and was very pleasant and helpful. Came on a Sunday for dinner since we love the outdoor bar and ambiance for events, had never tried the food. Such a flop... Fully staffed restaurant with zero people working cohesively. Met a waiter, had a different one take our order (incorrectly), and then had to beg a third one to come over to even get us what we actually ordered. Sat inside on 8/29, just happened to walk by on my way to the Rooftop bar. The decor is cute and the vibe is very friendly. They kept running out of menu items: beer, sundaes? Which I found odd but it didn't impact my meal too much, they comped dessert by way of apology. The food itself is very decent. I got the smash burger. I'm used to seasoned patties for smash burgers and these werent, but aside from that it was good. My lunchmate got a chicken club, also decent. It was prohibitively loud in here. Absolutely horrifying experience. We ordered the fish sandwich and randomly decided to cut it open because we were going to give some to our two-year-old. Thank God we did, because there was a WORM inside the fish. The waitress was immediately concerned, and the manager came over and apologized. They offered to make us another sandwich, but how could you possibly feel comfortable eating another one after seeing what was inside the first? I wish that I could be nicer to Sadie's, and I know that Sadie's is less than two months old right now and are going to have the usual growing pains that all restaurants have. With that being said, I hope that this review gives them serious feedback that they will take to heart in order to improve their potential. First, the positives: The garden bar has a wonderful vibe with amazing ambient music, a fun esthetic, and great people watching as fellow humans walk the cobblestones of Fulton Street. the way this place is set up seems to fit in perfectly with the Seaport District. Echoing what a fellow reviewer said above me, the attentiveness to guest service is barren. When my friend and I bellied up to the bar on a Sunday afternoon, the bar was about 3/4 filled with guests, and there were about 5 team members behind the bar. We were sitting for at least 10 minutes and had four of the five team members walk past us and not make eye contact - this was especially challenging to have happen because we were sitting directly in front of the beer taps which were being used every two minutes to pour drafts, and eye contact or a quick "be right with you!" would have been very easy based on this setup. One of the team members finally came to us and said "I'll be right with you", but did so with such limited voice that my friend and I turned to each other to ask ourselves if that was meant for us. Another 10 minutes passed. A different team member came up to us and asked us what we wanted to drink, so we asked for menus. "Oh we don't have any," was the response, despite there being a stack of menus right next to the cash register about four feet away. I pointed to where the menus were. Once we received them, we saw that there are no prices on the menu, only ONE cocktail (a white cosmo), and a limited selection for liquor confirmed by the garden bar's back bar - only one type of vodka, same for gin, and rum, and tequila, and cognac. We ended up ordering a margarita and an Aperol Spritz, and to paraphrase another reviewer, they were a bit watered down and not well balanced. The prices and sizes of the cocktails were fair for downtown Manhattan, so at least the portions are right even if not proportioned correctly. At no point after delivering our drinks did any team member follow up with us, ask how our drinks were, offer us a food menu, engage us in small talk, or anything that you would normally get at a place with otherwise positive vibes like this. There seemed to be no manager out at the bar overseeing the staff or having chats with guests, given at least 30-40 people sitting around the bar plus high tops nearby that were mostly filled, and I'm not sure if that is because this place is still in soft opening or just focusing on other things right now, but, coming from a hospitality background, I feel this garden bar might be better suited with some transparency on menu prices, well-developed systems for bar operations, a proprietary cocktail program with a few more signature cocktails, zone defense so five team members aren't scrambling around the bar into each other's work space, and some guest service training (such as how eye contact and a cocktail napkin drop to acknowledge a guest when busy goes a long way in establishing a rapport with guests). Do I think Sadie's can recover from this and build themselves up into a cornerstone of the Seaport District? Absolutely. If they reach out to me for additional feedback and follow up would I provide it constructively? 100% I would! Great location, and with some major improvements, this place could become great, let's see what happens. read more

Amazing experience, I went with 7 friends for my birthday brunch and the staff was very kind and accomodating especially Sarah (shoutout) even though I hadn't even booked! So I have lived in New York for 20 years and I've seen my fair share of restaurants come and go. I came to Sadie's yesterday afternoon just looking for a coffee and something to snack on and I decided on a slice of banana bread. The coffee was good, the banana bread was great but my server, James, was the cherry on top. In a city like New York it's rare to meet people as accommodating and as polite as this young man. Now I cannot speak for all of the staff at Sadie's but if you're going to come to Seaport I would highly recommend Sadie's because of the excellent company and service of that guy! I went to Sadie's outdoor bar/beer garden for the US vs. Australia World Cup game last Friday (June 19th). We got there two hours early to secure a good spot to watch. Everything was fine until we started hearing loud cheers coming from down the street--only for the US to score on our screen about 5 to 10 seconds later. We quickly realized Sadie's big screen was operating on a massive broadcast delay. Normally, I wouldn't mind that much, but it was incredibly frustrating for two reasons: It's an outdoor venue located directly next to another bar with outdoor TVs that were streaming the game in real-time, completely spoiling every major play for us. Sadie's had just hosted multiple watch parties for the Knicks and other World Cup games. They absolutely knew about this delay and chose to do nothing to fix it. The fact that they care so little about the fan experience on such a massive game day is emblematic of how they treat their customers. If you actually want to watch a live game without it being ruined by the neighborhood, go somewhere else. read more
