Service was great, the ambiance is definitely a bar atmosphere. I think most people come here for the drinks, and less the food. The food is okay.

Nice intimate bar with historical roots. They have both cafe and bar seating so you can stand around or sit for happy hour! My favorite part is their wonderful Non-alcoholic menu - try out the Dry Tai! Service was quick and friendly. They don't round up their costs much so you'll see pricing with exact change - respect! They're a neighborhood favorite spot so definitely check it out on your next Downtown visit!

Was looking for somewhere with outdoor seating for a bite and a drink. After viewing several restaurants that didn't grab my attention, I came across Fresh Salt with their Happy Hour sign. They have happy hour seven days a week from 4-8 pm. Wine and mixed drinks are $6 and drafts are. $5. Their food consists of sandwiches and small plates. The service is friendly and down to earth. My happy hour red was a drinkable Montepulciano. My grilled chicken sandwich on a bed of greens was what I needed and relatively healthy. The food and drink was a 3.5, and the service and the prices were 5 stars. Inflation has not hit their prices which are amazingly low. I'll be back when I check out a concert at Pier 17 later this summer.

Great happy hour spot in the seaport with $4-5 drafts, $6 well and wine. They've got pretty good spinach artichoke dip too. Outdoor area is spacious while the interior is small but cozy.

Brooo The artichoke dip is to die for. It was hearty and gooey and just the perfect ratio. I think I could eat it once a week. Only wish was pita was flashed grilled or something but whatever. I would also go as far to say the cocktails were very cheap considering it's in Financial District. I would have rate this place closer to one dollar sign than two.

Went for the autumn tippler and got the seaport siren. Yummy drink but perhaps more lemony than I like. But good casual place and lovely outdoor setup. The indoor seemed extremely cozy although I didn't stay for long. I'll be back if I'm in the area

I've come to this place several times for the Autumn Tippler. The drinks are decent and the vibe is casual. I've never had the food here but I wouldn't mind trying something from their menu. They have good happy hour prices and the bar is always full. I would suggest trying the outdoor seating if the weather is good.

I've been to Fresh Salt a couple of times in the past, and when it comes to being in a comfortable environment to catch up with friends, this place does not fail to please. First, finding a venue that has happy hour isn't so easy in the vicinity, and theirs is quite good. Happy hour specials run from 4 pm to 8 pm and it includes: $6 wine such as Rose, Sauvignon Blanc & Montepulciano as well as $5 draft beer and well drinks. In addition, their craft cocktails normally $12 were $8. There was no table service therefore orders must be placed at the bar for both food and drink---however, food was served to the table once ready. We settled in the back part of the establishment but there were also seats at the bar and when the weather permits--outdoor dining. Their menu in terms of food was simple but diverse: sandwiches, salads, dips for sharing (hummus & artichoke) and additional plates. For drink, I selected Rose while my friends opted for the red. We also ordered food upon which two of my friends chose the meatloaf sandwich while I went with the breaded eggplant sandwich. Most entrees averaged at $12 with some less expensive items. My sandwich was breaded eggplant (assuming it was fried) with mozzarella and pesto on a ciabatta bread. I chose a salad rather than potato chips to accompany the delicious sandwich. My friends enjoyed their meal very much. Fresh Salt is a cute, homey type of establishment with good choices. Music seemed to be of the 60s genre all evening. This place is an old reliable.

Fantastic happy hour until 8PM. It's small and dive-y inside but my friend and I were able to grab seats quickly on a Wednesday around 7PM!

What time does happy hour end? On the website it says 8pm but on yelp I saw 6pm and I'm not sure which is true (their website could potentially not be up to date).

Happy Hour is from 4-8pm Sunday to Friday, and 2-8pm on Saturdays! Our website is correct, thanks for checking!

The chicken cutlet and chicken dumplings were fine but I probably wouldn't order them again. Not surprising, then, that it was pretty packed by the time we finished dinner, at 10:30ish. Serptentine has a solid cocktail list, one that definitely reflects the West Village sensibility. The drinks are all clear variations of classics (ie., martini, negroni, espresso martini, margarita, old fashioned, etc.) but with some added intrigue. All well-executed and made efficiently, which is very impressive during weekend primetime. If you're not nearby I wouldn't make a trip to the area just for Serpentine, but it's a fantastic option if you live/work in the neighborhood and/or are getting a meal in the area and are looking for a bar to start or end at. As I mentioned, it was relatively busy when we arrived here. There weren't any open seats initially but the host said we could hang around the bar for a bit, as he expected a table to open soon. It was probably 10 minutes before we were sat which is basically like being sat immediately in New York time. And generally, the staff here were great -- very personable and accommodating, quick service, only praise in that area. The vibes here are cozy but lively, giving more of a friend hangout than a date (it's also relatively loud so not ideal for conversation if you're sitting across from someone at a table, versus standing and mingling or sitting on bar stools). If you're a dirty martini person you are in luck here, because the Serpentini (grey goose vodka, dry vermouth, olive brine, pepperocini liqueur) is unlike any other. And I get dirty martinis pretty much everywhere I go, so that's saying something. Why is it so unique, you may ask? Well, the pepperocini liqueur is a nice touch and props to whoever decided it was necessary to make such a thing. But the real game changer is the sidecar. You may be thinking -- how is a sidecar unique? Well, it's not just any sidecar...it is not filled with more martini but simply PURE FILTHY BRINE. I mean, if you're ordering a dirty martini, you probably would take a bath in olive brine, brush your teeth with olive brine -- hell, maybe even your contact solution is just olive brine. Want to make your martini dirtier as you drink it? Serpentine has you covered. It is so simple and obvious yet I've never experienced it before. And, because I've never met someone who loves dirty martinis who doesn't also drool over blue cheese-stuff olives, the Serpentini's got that too. Though less exciting and groundbreaking, Mezcal Negroni (ilegal mezcal, campari, averna amaro, lo-fi gentian amaro) is also solid. I love a mezcal negroni and this one is relatively straightforward, just a subtle variation with a few different amaros to add some complexity and herbal notes. A fun and versatile neighborhood spot. It's in prime location so I imagine to rent is absurd, so fingers crossed that it sticks around!
