We ordered a bottle of the 2019 Quinta de Logo Vinho Verde Rose to start off with which was really light and a great wine to pair with our dinner. We ordered the carrots special, chistorra sausage, shishito peppers, shrimp ceviche, setas, patatas bravas with octopus, smoked duck legs, squid in its ink tin fish and octopus in olive oil tinned fish. The carrots and the shishito peppers were delicious! I loved them both and also really enjoyed it with the chistorra sausage. The sausage had a great smoky taste. The Shrimp ceviche was also really good and I loved the cilantro, cucumbers and red peppers. The setas [mushrooms] had a great flavor along with the very crispy patatas bravas and the octopus was cooked perfectly. We didn't care too much for the octopus in olive oil. We originally wanted the spiced octopus but they were out of it. The duck seemed just a little dry. The squid in its ink was probably my favorite and actually tasted really good with the shishito peppers. Loved the food here, everything was great! Service could have been just a bit better. Our wine came out chilled and they didn't bring a chiller. When they did, there wasn't any ice in it. Other than that, loved everything and they even brought us some red vermouth. read more

I don't care what anybody thinks about me after reading the next line. I had some of the best spicy ribs I've ever had in my life at a tapas bar in a train station. Yep that's right. Yes they were beyond juicy and fall of the bone. They had a nice kick, fully seasoned and just amazing. How the heck do they make these ribs, how are they so good? What type of magic spell have they conjure here... I was frankly flabbergasted. The patata brava, the delicious bacon wrapped dates. They all were top notch but didn't prepare me for the foodie experience I was about to embark on when I bit into these amazing ribs! Ditto for the various gin-and-tonic drinks, which were sometimes a little odd, but all flavorable and worth the tidy sum they cost. Inside was pretty noisy; if weather permits, go for one of their outside seats. Service was also very helpful friendly but ... slow. We'll definitely be back. This was such an amazing place for tapas. I loved the ambiance and every dish we tried was phenomenal. The Brussel sprouts were delicious and came with fried garlic on top. We wanted a special meal for New Year's Eve and I caught wind of the tapas feast Ultreia was offering just for this night. I placed my pickup order via their website (which uses Tock) and picked it up the day before. They gave me the option to either have everything precooked or prepped for us to cook ourselves. I decided to cook it myself so that it was as fresh as can be. It was a lot of work but definitely worth the effort. The spread included a salad, cheese, meats, figs stuffed with foie gras, pan con tomate, meatballs, shrimp, and beef tenderloin with mashed potatoes. For dessert, there was a special take on tiramisu and 12 grapes to eat at midnight, per Spanish tradition. Don't get me wrong, preparing this was a ton of work, but their directions were good and the result was amazing! Some dishes were better than others but it was all pretty solid and my main gripe was that there should have been more bread to eat with. I'll definitely be back to dine in-person when COVID is behind us. For now, I wouldn't shy away from ordering from here for another pickup meal with the craving calls. read more

We had a reservation for Mother's Day and were seated right away. Ordered the sanguine on recommendation from our server(blood orange gin cocktail) and sangria. Loved that they had so many gins to choose from on the menu. Usually you get a choice of one or two but not with this place. It's a gin lover's dream!! Our table ordered the pan con tomate, croquetas de jamon, gambas al ajillo, patatas bravas, setas, and Moorish spiced ribs. Our favorites were the gambas(had to order many for the table!!) and the croquetas de jamon(surprisingly my favorite tapa- perfectly crispy outside and soft, delicious inside). One person loved the patatas bravas but the rest of us thought they were a bit over-seasoned. The setas were a big hit with the little guy at our table as well as everything but the patatas (which is not what I expected). He said the mushrooms gave him "superpowers" like Super Mario. Ribs were made with what seemed like a Moroccan dry rub. Wasn't the favorite of the person who ordered them but decent and we haven't had anything like it to compare it to so not sure about that one. Only wish the menu had a little more to choose from for both tapas and main dishes like the empanadas I saw in other poster's photos and maybe a paella with chicken and rabbit etc. like they do in Spain for those who want a paella with meat but can't have the fruita del mar(due to seafood allergies) and don't want a veggie option. The true star of the evening was when we had dessert- our table split a chocolate torta and churros. The chocolate torta was my absolute favorite(and I think everyone else's!!) but it was hard to choose because they were both so great. The churros had both a chocolate sauce and a caramel sauce to choose from and they were equally good. The blackberry sorbet complimented the chocolate in the torta in such a heavenly way. I would eat the torta again a million times!! It's a good thing we don't live closer or I would have to buy new clothes!! We shared the calamari, trout sandwich, charcuterie board, queso pimentón , the jamón plate, and an order of churros. Overall, it was a great taste and solid price for a wide variety of tapas and drinks! My favorites were the charcuterie board and the jamón plate, the jamón is pricy but a great option of you're looking to explore this style of meat. The charcuterie board was also great to get lots of flavors and it paired perfectly with the sangria. I LOVE Spanish food!! Like many others have said, this just doesn't compare to real Spanish food. Not to mention, it was extremely overpriced. I wish Denver had better options for this type of food. I came here with a few girlfriends and we just waited at the door for about 10 minutes. The host didn't bother to ask us if we had a reservation and finally acknowledged us when I spoke to her. The place is pretty small and we sat next to the patio door, so it was pretty drafty. Service felt rushed, we had sat down for barely a minute, when the server came to ask about our drinks. We told her we needed more time and she came back about a minute later and kept pushing us to order. We ended up just getting a drink and a few tapas at this place. We had the patatas bravas with octopus, the mushrooms special, and the pan con tomate. With tips, it came out to over $50 for one drink and three tiny appetizers between three people. The bravas sauce was a little too smokey and borderline bitter. Usually the sauce just comes drizzled on the sauce, but this looked like it was fried in the sauce. The portion was tiny, you can see the spoon in comparison to the plate. The mushrooms were delicious, but again, there just wasn't very much food. The mushrooms We each had about 3 bites and it was gone. We ended up ordering bread to soak up sauce from the mushroom. Tapas are meant to be small, I get it, but the price is way too high for what you get. I guess most of the cost goes to rent at Union Station. Food - Staff - Atmosphere - My partner and I had brunch here this past Saturday morning. The restaurant next door had a waitlist, so we decided to try Ultreia. The staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was inviting and well decorated. To start, one of our water glasses was filled with what looked like grime and a small dead fly. Our server was apologetic and quickly grabbed us a new glass. We also ordered coffee, which came a bit after the entrees. The coffee is $5 per cup, and if you want cream, that is a $3 "milk" charge. There were opened, empty sugar packets accompanying our coffee. We ordered the huevos brazas and the brunch burger - both were lackluster. The huevos brazas was filled with large quarters of potatoes that teetered on unflavored and raw. The ($16) burger is not made-to-order and the one topping customization we asked for was incorrect. The manager did comp us for the burger, which I am grateful. I do want to add that there is a 5% "Denver minimum wage" fee added to the bill. I'm curious if the extra money made from this fee goes into the hands of the hard working individuals or straight into the owners pockets. Pay your staff a living wage - requiring handouts for your poor business practices gives the impression that you feign fine dining. read more

A bit disappointing to say the least. We were excited as we love a good tapas menu especially accompanied by a G&T done right but man the service was abysmal. After we were seated it took 10 min for a waiter to approach us. They were polite at that point and pointed us to a $16 G&T which we both ordered. From there we waited 15 min for our drinks. At around 10 min into that wait, I flagged down a different waiter as ours had not returned since our drink order and asked to put in food. At that pace we figured it would certainly take some time. We put in a small order with plans to order another round of food once we received our drinks. When our drinks finally came out they were ok. Nothing special and definitely not worth the $16 price tag. Our food came out relatively quickly and did taste good. Our waiter came over after we were about halfway through our food and drinks and promptly said, and I kid you not, "that was enough food for you, yes?" And she grabbed the last menu we had on our table and walked away. 10 min later with an empty table in front of us we just put our credit card on the table and someone finally came and gave us our tab. So start off though this place is located inside union station, it's not very large but it felt more personal with a group friends for a nice night out and catching up. Ultreia was the perfect spot for happy hour with new friends. They have a great happy hour from 4-6 that we took full advantage of. My husband and I decided to each get their signature gin and tonic as well as split 1 of each of the happy hour tapas plates. Each were uniquely made and delicious in their own way.
