I would like to share feedback regarding a recent experience my 87-year-old mother had at your Phoenix location. A few months ago, while visiting me in San Diego, my mother purchased several Cécred products from Ulta. At that time, she qualified for a free gift with purchase. Unfortunately, the store had run out of the promotional gift, but the sales associate went above and beyond by offering a substitute item. My mother was extremely grateful and left with a very positive impression of Ulta's customer service. Recently, after returning home to Phoenix, my mother needed to replenish her Cécred products and visited her local Ulta store. Expecting the same level of customer care, she was disappointed by her interaction with an employee named Laney. My mother selected her products and completed a purchase totaling $92.74. Only after the transaction was completed was she informed that the advertised free gift was unavailable. When she politely asked whether a substitute item could be offered, as had been done at another Ulta location, she was simply told "no" without any explanation. My mother then asked whether a note could be written on her receipt indicating that she had not received the promotional item so she could return if more became available. Again, she was told "no." According to my mother, Laney then walked away without further explanation or assistance. The issue is not necessarily the store policy itself. Afterward, I contacted the store and spoke with a manager who was very kind and took the time to explain the policy. My concern is the manner in which my mother was treated. If Laney was unable to address my mother's questions, she could have referred her to a manager or another associate who could have provided a clearer explanation. Instead, my mother felt dismissed and undervalued as a customer. Customer service is about more than simply enforcing policies; it is about treating customers with courtesy, respect, and empathy. Unfortunately, that was not my mother's experience during this visit. As a result of this interaction, my mother has decided she will not return to this location and plans to shop at the Ulta location on 48th Street instead. This is particularly disappointing because her previous experiences with Ulta, especially in San Diego, have been overwhelmingly positive and customer-focused. I hope this feedback is taken as an opportunity for improvement. Every customer, especially elderly customers, deserves to be treated with patience, respect, and professionalism. I've been coming here to get my hair done at the salon for almost a year now, and always have good experiences. I recently had an absolutely awesome experience and just had to yelp about it!! I've been seeing Callie most visits, and usually come in for root touchups. This time, I decided to change my hair color to a copper and am absolutely in love with how it came out! It looks really natural and the color is gorgeous!!! The salon prices are very fair, and they offer 3 different levels of stylist. The pricing will vary depending on what level stylist you choose. The salon is always bright and clean when I come in. Everyone else working is always really nice. On this visit, Destiny helped me pick out an eyebrow gel to help match my eyebrows to the new color. She was also really nice and talked to me for a bit while I was getting my hair done. I can't recommend this salon enough, especially Callie. read more

Only got the 1 star because I wanted to leave a review I made a appointment online for my daughter to get Halloween makeup as they do advertise they offer this service drove all the way to Phoenix from east mesa 45 mins atleast my daughter's appointment was at 345 no one greeted us we had to walk up to a worker and ask can she help us sign in this was our first time we didn't have a clue and she did it wasn't until 10 mins later a lady with a full face of Halloween make up appears hi are you here for the make up we say yes she asked what were we trying to get I showed her a picture she then says let .e go talk to my manager so the manager comes and says they don't have anyone available to do Halloween make she doesn't know why cooperate has that as a option no one in the store can do that even though everyone except the manager has a full face of Halloween make up anyway the manager continues to tell me she doesn't know why they offer any services including brows because the brow don't even know how to that so a hour later we leave no make up for Halloween my daughter is 13 and had a party to attend so she was in tears wow horrible customer service stop lying someone can do the Halloween makeup at this location because every employee has a face full. I love the company, but every time I come into this specific store, I encounter the most rude little girls working there. I just went today around four and the cashier was so rude. Each time I visit this location I witness or experience terrible customer service. An example is a gentleman asked an employee who was stocking lip pencils for assistance in the perfume. Worst Ulta to shop at. The store was clean and organized, I appreciate that. But the entire time I was shopping I just felt very uncomfortable. The employees constantly watch you and there is a security guard that keeps his eye on you as well. I'm not sure what about me gave thief vibes. I had only a small Fanny pack with me and I was holding a huge bottle of conditioner. I wanted to check out a certain brand which is near the entrance. Of course when I went over there the security guard popped out of no where in front of the door. He didn't say anything to me but it was obvious he thought I might try to make a bolt for the door? When I was done shopping and went to checkout he suddenly moved away from the door LOL. They made me feel like a criminal although I've never stolen a thing in my life. I went to Ulta to get my hair done. I am from New York and we do not let just anyone do our hair. Usually it takes two hours to do my hair wash, set, blowout it is old school but what I was use to takes two hours. My sister went to Ulta to get her hair done and it looked great. Ayana is amazing she is very gentle it almost feels like she is not doing anything but than bam! Your hair is done and it is beautiful and only took one hour, one hour!!! Never in my life has anyone done my hair in one hour. I went back today and she did it again what magic, where did this hair guru come from??? She is the best!!! Go see her it is so worth it... This is my first time I actually received extremely excellent customer service from Ulta Beauty Consultant. At this location, I've always had issues with this location. I'm definitely seeing some improvement. ("Jiaclle") Her service was amazing. I wish this was across the broad ("Jasclle"). She really trains others employees on how to treat the customers. One lady saw her excellent customer service toward myself and wanted ("Jasclle") to assist her .The customer said that everyone else is always in a hurry. Really need more stylish that can cut curly hair. Went in for a cut the stylist straightened it and it looked great but once I got home and washed my hair a few days later, it did not look good curly ! I couldn't style it, I had to go to another salon and pay another $60 to get it "fixed". When I went in to get my refund, the cashier called the manager to come to the front, the manager walked up and literally said " What". After I told her what had happened, she never apologized or really showed much care for the situation. This whole experience was just immensely disappointing. read more

last time I went in looking for a sunscreen because the one I had was not working for me at all. Im not sure exactly what her name was but I'm pretty sure I saw her name tag say Mercedes. she was super sweet and super helpful and helped me find the perfect sunscreen. then I went in the store again today looking for a leave in treatment for my hair and she recommended a trial kit and I'm so excited to try it out. Went and picked my items up and discovered I ordered the wrong lipstick. So I ask the cashier could I do an exchange? She says , yes. She goes to scan the barcode but it doesn't work. Calls another store associate over. Who processed to say I can't exchange it. I have to wait 24 hours. I've never had this happen. On top of that. Upon entering the store myself and my mother were greeted by Lily. She has a very bright sunny disposition, however she is not a very good sales woman. She took straight to me and the list that I had, and ignored my mother without even greeting her. This was a big mistake, huge... I went to Ulta Beauty today along with my sister to keep her company. Everything was going well until we were going to check out, and then ur beloved employee Kristen accused me of stealing, Before hand I was simply smelling cologne using the papers given at that section and I couldn't fine a trash can so I put the papers in my pocket. When we were checking out your one star employee asked with the rudest tone "would you like to pay for that in your pocket" and after we showed her the paper not even an apology. Did she expect us to pay for paper that is used to test fragrances ??? Reading the reviews I can tell that Kristen is not a prime example of what should be an Ulta employee. I suggest she takes her sourpuss face and attitude somewhere else where it's not needed. Ulta has been downgrading on their employees, I suggest you start with Kristen to fix this problem.
