I highly recommend Toniya to get your hair styling needs! My hair is so hairing! I haven't had a haircut in over a year or 2...yes that is really bad. Decided to give ulta a try and Toniya listened to what I wanted. Long layers and hair layering a face frame. I showed her a picture and she delivered. She styled my hair really nicely too and I wish I could style my hair like a salon does. Loving my new hair style. Thank you Toniya! read more

Had such a bad experience with one of the workers. It was a girl that had purple hair streaks. I came in looking for a sample of the Kylie skin tint which I had just came in a couple days before to try, but I was given shade colors that were way too light so I wanted to come try a couple different darker shades I the worker and asked for samples and she gave me a really dirty look and a really bad attitude saying that she couldn't make a sample of it because she wasn't allowed to and I was like oh that's kind of confusing I was just in here two days ago and was able to get samples and she said well Whoever did it is not supposed to do that so no and she was just so rude and I just feel like the situation could've been approached so differently and genuinely made me really upset. It really sucks because I like this place a lot and I shop here a lot, but it really sucks that I was given such a bad attitude. I understand if that's a "policy" and can't do shade match samples but giving me attitude was just beyond unnecessary read more

i wouldn't really recommend hair service here..the staff was friendly but my stylist forgot to tone some parts of my hair..or didn't leave the toner in longer. it seem rushed at the end of my appointment. i spent 300$ on the service so i do expect my hair to be the same color.. read more

Ulta Beauty - there's still some orange when the rest of my hair is somewhat the similar color. - Cosmetics & Beauty Supply Near Me - Tempe, Arizona

Easily the trashiest ULTA I've ever been to. The staff members all look like they have the plague. Remember when you had to actually do your makeup to work at a makeup store? They all looked sick, like they'd just woken up, one of them smelled awful. The lights at checkout flicker incessantly so I was starting to get a headache while standing in line-- which was taking forever because neither of the two cashiers knew what they were doing and had zero customer service skills at all. What an embarrassment to Ulta. As someone who's been in customer service for over ten years (and still under 30 I should add, for the lady pushing 35 at the register) this was the saddest experience I've ever witnessed. I'll just order online. read more

Review comes from my wife's and my son's experience. The employees were very helpful and easy to find. Her main concern was that the store was showing it's age. Stating the store was dirty with an odd smell, the bathrooms weren't kept up and had a unique smell. The stylist stand looked nice and the stylists appeared welcoming, just was hard to get over how dirty and unkempt the place looked. My son said similar, that the men's room and the store in general wasn't very kept up and was rather dirty compared to other Ultas he had been in previously. read more

I stopped in last night and I never feel comfortable in stores that sell makeup because it's not something that's very familiar to me. Kaily approached me in the kindest way asking if I needed help. And I certainly did. She went above and beyond to make sure that I felt comfortable with what I was getting and I felt comfortable what I was leaving with. And she also helped me find the right price point of products since this is not something I do often. Then up at the register, Bailey genuinely asked how I was doing and I told her that I was great because of the woman that helped me prior. Bailey was wonderful as well and there was another gal behind the counter. I didn't get your name but she was also very friendly. I should also mention this is all 10 minutes before the store closed. People were walking in until the last moment and they treated everyone kindly and with enthusiasm. read more

Just had the worst experience at this Ulta. Was not greeted or acknowledged by one person in the 35 minutes I spent wandering the store. There was two employees who were having a private conversation about their personal relationships so I didn't feel like it was a good time to interrupt but I stood right next to them hoping they would stop and acknowledge me. They did not. As soon as I walked away another customer walked by them and one of them finally stopped and greeted her. Another employee who had a phone in his hand looked like he was doing restock down the aisles appeared to look busy so I stood at the end of the aisle hoping he would say hello. Nope. Nothing. One person who did ask if I needed anything was less than helpful. I asked her if she had any recommendations for brush/sponge cleansers and she said no, I don't use brushes. Just try soap and water. Okay thanks. I almost walked out without buying anything but I needed a product so when I finally went to check out the girl who rung me up did not say hello. I said hi how are you. She said fine. Then went on her walkie talkie to ask if she could finally go on her break. I asked her, oh did you not want me to come up to the register yet? She just shook her head then proceeded to talk on the walkie talkie about how she was going to throw up. What kind of customer service is this? I also work in retail and understand it's exhausting but without customers we don't have jobs so pretend and put in a bit more effort. This is the last time I'll ever shop here. read more

Why is everyone so mean?? Do you have to be rude to work here?? Seriously. I'm a customer trying to be nice and courteous to the workers and they won't even look at me or speak kindly. They interrupt when asking questions and can't speak kindly whatsoever. I felt judged and like I was being spoken to like I was dumb. Genuinely the meanest co manager and beauty assistants I've ever experienced. read more

Went in today to buy some makeup , I was asked about 5 times if I am doing ok !! That's super frustrating when u clearly aren't looking around for some one to help u !!! This is why I'm a loyal Sephora customer. The lady who checked me out was extremely rude. Acted like I was a bother for checking out. I never come to Ulta, but I had three gift cards from my family which I needed to use. When I told her I had some and pulled them out she looked so annoyed. Her tone then became short and kind of disgusted. After I was done putting them in and told her I wanted to pay with cash. Her attitude became even worse. Like I'm sorry I'm coming in and buying products from you guys. I definitely will not be coming back. I've never had a single bad experience at Sephora. Everyone there is over the top nice. Could barely get a smile from my cashier at Ulta. read more

Got the item I wanted for discount so that was nice but waited in the curbside pick up spot for 20 minutes and just gave up assuming nobody was coming & went inside and three people behind the counter not actively working the register so definitely could've brought my order out. Racial profiling from one Spanish speaker to another is extremely absurd. Drea followed me throughout the store asking if I needed help. At first, it came off as genuine. I continued to shop & she somehow found herself wherever I was or having conversations with her coworkers. When I finally asked her for help as she was again, having a conversation with a coworker & customer, she responded, "I don't work here! Ask someone upfront!" while completely dismissing me in a very condescending tone & helped another customer instead. Drea, why follow me around only tell me you don't work for the store? Unprofessional. Drea needs additional training. read more

Had someone wonderful help me find products and tell me that I could exchange a product I got on a giftcard for another so she helped me for the next 30 minutes finding a Mac highlighter and eyeliner and highlighter brush. When I went to checkout she said I couldn't exchange or get any store credit because I passed the 60 policy. I drove an hour to this ulta because the one by my house doesn't take Mac products so I couldn't exchange it there and haven't been able to come for the past 2 months due to a house fire and ended up just having my time and money wasted. The girl at the register was passive aggressive about it too which really adding to ruining my experience here. I had to put everything back and am just going to shop at Sephora given the poor customer service experience I had here. I've been shopping at ulta for the past 8 years as well and am really upset I was treated the way I was at the register. Definitely not coming here again.. read more

I came with my friend to look at new products and we were asked by every worker if we were doing okay, but then they would follow us into aisles and we felt like they thought we were stealing because they did not take their eyes off us the whole time, which was very uncomfortable. I understand some shoppers are not trust worthy but it felt like they assumed we had malicious intent just by being there. The experience was unpleasant and for the rest of the day we felt very uneasy about it. read more

In town for vacation came to this Ulta and was assisted by Kaily . I went to get my hair done this past Saturday, and although it was a good experience, it made me reflect on my past visits over the last five years. I used to go to Aisha, who charged me around $300 to $400 for highlights, haircuts, and various treatments. However, I recently learned that the current stylist does things differently. For example, I was shocked when she said she would apply Olaplex, which involves four steps and takes longer. Aisha never mentioned that to me. After my treatment, the new stylist brushed my hair smoothly, unlike Aisha, who would brush it hard to detangle it. I feel sad and misled because I thought I was receiving the best service at Ulta. It now feels like I was scammed over the years since Aisha didn't provide the treatments she claimed to. I want an explanation for all the times I felt cheated, and I believe I deserve a refund for the service I didn't receive. read more

OVERCHARGED !! Stylist trained to charge minimum $300 ( also they would not let me keep a printed break down of Services, very sketchy ) Greedy, commission based Stylists This is ULTA , not a 5 Star Salon ! Spending minimum $350/mo on hair ??? Find a "QUALITY" Salon FELIX 1st visit , cut , color B dry = $350 ( I have short hair) Demi color, lasted (3)weeks Felix 2nd visit - (3) weeks later - highlights = $300 completely damaged/burnt my hair with the harsh chemicals he used My hair looked brassy My hair looks/feels like straw..so upsetting These are sub-par Stylists that can't keep clients They victimize clients/still get their health insurance & paid vacation . They draw new clients in monthly because it's ULTA Stylists do NOT care about performing "quality" work and retaining a happy client. They charge high $$$ tickets & push hair/beauty products for commission. I'll never go back...beware . I have not had my hair professionally done since 2016. Since then, I've always done my own natural curly routine. I kept seeing girls on TikTok have the best curly hair after getting a silk press because of a treatment and getting their split ends cut off. I decided Ulta was the best based off those influencers. Aisha did an Olaplex treatment to make my silk press last and trimmed my ends. She was absolutely amazing, providing me advice and things to try out for next time (clarifying shampoo, keratin treatment for less frizz, and Redken gloss to make my hair shiner). Her service was 10/10. Very respectful, understood my hair's needs, and gives the time to speak on aftercare. I definitely will be coming back to her for a follow up. Photos are how my hair usually is, how I came into the salon (unwashed for a week, fresh out the bun), and then is her results of my silk press. thank you so much Aisha! Go to her! read more

Make up is not used as often now that we wear masks. I do still wear eye makeup and needed an eyeliner and shadow. The staff are masked and ask that patrons mask up as well. Went in for a few new things since I'm pregnant I need to change some skin care items. Found 3/4 of them easily. The last one was a struggle. After walking around I was about to give up. Until I asked the cashier and she pointed me in the right direction. The thing that gives this 2.5 or 3 starts is that I walked past 3 workers standing in the center of the perfume talking and laughing.. is helping a customer not more important than your conversation? I guess not. It would take 30 seconds to do your job and assist then go on back to your whatever conversation. read more

Only giving 2 stars because of Rueben who has been amazing. Unfortunately he did not have openings so we got scheduled with Fernanda for a 3 hour time slot. When we got there she said she only had time for a cut (we were there well within the 3 hour window). Don't ever go there, Fernanda wanted to go home early since we were her last appointment. Fernanda, if that is what you want then cancel don't manipulate the situation. Manager was no help at all and didn't understand the situation enough to have an intelligent conversation we me. First question from her was "do you want to reschedule?" ‍ NO! Thanks for nothing. Sorry Rueben unfortunately you lost a customer that was out of your control. We wish you the best and if you work somewhere else we will come see you and recommend you 100%. Bottom line this is a scheduling, stylist or management issue. Pretty sure it is not scheduling. ‍ read more

Worst Ulta I have ever been to.customer service is horrible. There was only about 6 people shopping, so it wasn't busy. Store employees were everywhere some playing on there phones. Others were giggling and laughing in groups. No one offered to see if they could help you find what you needed. I finally asked an employee for help and they act like they were not happy to help. Not one employee was nice. Even when I went to pay for my purchase did I see a smile or a kind word. Normally when I go in to an Ulta they welcome you in. The employees ask you if they can help you . Was totally surprised at this Ulta at Tempe market place. read more

I've been to this store many times in the past. I always have left with extra samples or at least ONE sample of something I want to try. So: I asked for a foundation sample I wanted to try at home and the employee said, "Oh, this brand has their own sample jars, we don't have any". I said, "Can I use a Clinique jar?" Of course not! She proceeds to tell me I could get a sample from Clinique or Lancôme. No thank you! Really? Truly a DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE. I will order off Ulta website or go to Sephora! Oh wait, I forgot to add that while this is happening, there are literally 7 employees of Ulta doing absolutely NOTHING! Just watching & talking. This is why your stores will eventually go to online only. read more

I have had a good experience every time I've visited this store. During the PHX summers, I wear my hair in its natural curly state, so I come here for my natural hair care needs. I love how all of the associates with whom I've dealt, no matter their race, have always been very helpful and knowledgeable with curly hair products. I have received some good advice and recommendations. This store has a nice, large selection of products for curly hair. They have one of the largest selections of Carol's Daughters and DevaCurl products too. Unfortunately, you cannot use the $3.50 off mailer coupon on these types of brands, which are considered "prestige" brands. Nonetheless, nice store with nice employees. The man working here who I believe is the manager is very sweet and helpful. The females who work here are rude and have NO customer service. I came in here twice. The first time I walked in, there were two female employees standing right by the entrance who didn't say hello or acknowledge me when I walked in. Not only that, but they went to go gossip in a corner. I had to track them down to ask if there was extra merchandise in the back, and her reply was "well it depends which one you want" well. Maybe if you were on the floor helping you'd know girlie The second time I came in is pretty much the same story. Workers standing around but not offering help. What's the point of them being on the floor? The cashiers in the front aren't friendly either. I had a coupon and she scanned it and immediately said it wasn't valid.. two seconds later she told me it ended up working. No apology for the misunderstanding at all. It was such a cold interaction. I left and went to Sephora where customers actually matter read more
