The WORST pharmacy in the area EVER so far! The ONLY reason I even still use this pharmacy is because they usually have a specific medication I need, that other pharmacies in the area are ALWAYS consistently out of for some bizarre reason. They will text me that my order will be ready by a certain day and time, and EVERY SINGLE TIME it is never ready when I arrive even hours after was promised to have been filled. Some of the staff are not professional and are argumentative. I have to tell them every month, DO NOT CALL OR TEXT ME REFILL REMINDERS! I ONLY want notifications WHEN MEDICATION IS READY FOR PICKUP! They will remove me from their little cold call list, but then the next month I am put right back on their calling list! I have advised them numerous times, I am on a doctor approved alternate schedule than how my script is written, and today one of the reps tried to tell me that they "have to follow-up PER MY INSURANCE for compliance reasons" This is a bold face lie! I have spoken to both my insurance company AND doctor, and Walgreens is NOT in charge of my dosing schedule, that is between my doctor and I alone, my doctor has the right to prescribe off label and/or change my dosage at anytime, and my insurance does not get involved nor should Walgreens be involved in the matter. The kicker is, this particular medication the Walgreens rep lied to me about and said she had to call me for "insurance compliance reasons", isn't even a medication that has EVER been covered by my insurance! LOL. I have to pay out of pocket for this one, my insurance has ZERO to do with it, and I also haven't taken this medication in months, because I switched over to a similar product instead. So just a straight up LIE from this Walgreens Pharmacy "tech" . They should not be making unverified, nor especially UNTRUE statements to customers.. Said that they scanned and put my medication in the bag with other meds and it was not in bag. Charged my insurance for the medication. Said they ran the cameras back , but I know what I received because I have eyeballs and good sense. Made me get a whole new prescription delaying the process even longer of receiving my medication. Go to a different Walgreens they are not efficient. read more

I went to this Walgreens because it is my local Walgreens.So I can get large photos of my father for his funeral. I was very stressed, very rushed.And i'm sure of what I needed in what to do. A beautiful young woman named Barbara instantly greeted me and helped me walked me up to the computer. Showed me how to use it and even stayed with me. To help edit my father's photo. We placed our order and left and expected to come back at 4 PM. But to our surprise, we gotta call an hour early to personally. Let us know that my photos were ready when I got there. I told her how at Michael's they wanted to charge me if the size wasn't right but she said it will be perfect. And if it's not bring it back and I will make sure it's done right and I won't charge you anything. Do not worry. You know what? For the first time in the last 2 weeks planning this funeral. I used to live in this area and often go back since it's welcoming and because I miss it! I stopped in to get batteries for alarms and each time I'm here the employees always are so nice and friendly. I feel bad not remembering the name of the Fella who was hilarious in helping me with the misplaced signage. What a super helpful human. Anyway, I love this location!! I also like they they appear to be more advanced with technology than any of the other locations. They have cool changing advertising freezer signage that I've never seen before in any of their other stores. Top notch! Very cool! read more

I have been using this location for about a year now. I use to use their competitor (CVS) which I found at least in this area to be not so good. This location has been on point. They have actually outperformed my mail order prescription service so I have moved to Walgreens for my service. They are on time with the reminder calls and they expedite orders very well. Everyone has been kind and pleasant which is nice. Again, unlike the mentioned competitor (in this area). I found it quite alarming to see as many 1 star ratings. Awful!!! Live right next to it and had some prescriptions to pick up on Thursday. Went in and they said it will be ready Friday. So I went in Friday only for them to tell me your prescriptions will be ready Monday. You can probobaly assume what they said on Monday at this point. So I show up on Tuesday determined to get my prescription (since now it's been over a week since it was prescribed to me) and they tell me to COME BACK in an hour since it is in a box they haven't opened yet. Then I ask if they can open the box as this is my fourth attempt to get this prescription, and the woman at the counter responds by saying no. No explanation or reasoning just no. Moral of the story this place is awful and the employees are far worse. especially at the pharmacy. read more

Most serious problem: they printed SOMEONE ELSE'S LABEL on MY prescription bottle. Luckily, I received the right drug, and since I looked at the receipt but NOT the bottle (drugs looked like they always did), I didn't notice right away. So I received someone else's prescription info, including their name, their drug info, and their address. A CLEAR HIPPA violation. The pharmacy dept. didn't seem too upset when we pointed it out, just muttered that they'd been having problems with the label printing for a while (for "a while"!). More recently, checked in for a vaccine, using the QR code posted at the pharmacy, 30 minutes after check-in (25 min after appointment time), was told not to use the QR code, becase "the app doesn't work very well - you should just come up to the counter." Still took 15 more minutes to get called in for the vaccine (30 min after appointment time, with NO OTHER CUSTOMERS WAITING). They are apparently chronically understaffed. Hiring new staff that can do their quicker. It's always an extra long wait just pick up medication.

Waited for 5 minutes at the counter before being acknowledged while one lady helped cars in the drive through and another prepped meds, they obviously saw and still completely ignored me. Worst walgreen customer service ever , usually most Walgreens has excellent service , this old grandma was at register , complaining to customers in line that store closes at 12 everyday , when we were all in line befor 12, just waiting for her slow response. The guy I'm front of me was in line probably 6-8 min before 12 and when she got to him, she said the same complaint aaannnddd when he asked to sign up to on rewards , she told him he has to sign up online instead or come in befor 12, so he badisally didn't get any discount and paid for full price even doe he was shopping for way before 12. Tried calling their pharmacy multiple times on 4/21/2023, they picked up the phone and put me on hold multiple times. Was put on hold the first time and waited for more than 20min then the phone line hung up. I called again later today at 3:40 to try to get ahold of someone, took multiple holds and 16 minutes before I finally got someone on staff. Had to do all this just to wait for someone, not angry just disappointed since I've been going to this pharmacy location since I was a kid. read more

The absolute worst pharmacy location in the valley. Not only are they ridiculously slow, they outright lie and are disrespectful. The pharmacist argued over the phone with me telling me that my girlfriends medication had been there since the 13th (it had not) and that it was waiting to be picked up. I go to pick up the medication and low and behold the fill date is TWO DAYS after he stated he filled it. He lied, outright lied to my face and my girlfriends face about medication she has to take daily. I've had numerous issues before with improper medication dosages, refusing me my medication despite having proper and up-to-date prescriptions etc. Not to mention that the elderly customers here (90% of the demographic) treat everyone like absolute dogshit. Terrible location. They have the LCD display screens on the fridge doors that never reflect their current stock and make it impossible to find what you're looking for. They have no self checkout and very little employees, checkout gets backed up all the time. The employees that are there must be working in bad conditions because they are always so miserable they can't even hide it. I've stopped asking how they are, I feel like at this point they are tired of pretending they're ok. Not to mention how often I've been made uncomfortable by employees there, some even following me out of the store to get my information. I'm eternally frustrated with their stock, always out of staple products like sodas or alcohol or feminine products. An Aldi's just opened up in this plaza, just skip the Walgreens and go there. I have been a customer of this location since 1998 when they were across the parking lot. They are usually very well staffed and rarely do I have to wait more than a couple of minutes in line. They have great sales and not always on the same items. I would give this location 5 stars except the Pharmacy has been very up and down from visit to visit. The store is clean, parking is ample, they have two indoor Redbox machines & I'm glad they sell booze again. There was a few years when the did not sell alcohol. read more

How is it that cashiers at Walgreens are always so friendly and the pharmacy staff is what ruins the experience? Always get a friendly "hello" or "can I help you find anything" when I visit. My husband has a serious neuromuscular disease, certain medication's prescription and over-the-counter can put him in a crisis state. A few nights ago he was really sick with the flu, it was late and I needed immediate information on something he could or should not take. After trying several methods to obtain information I needed more than the internet offered, I call Walmart pharmacy on Southern and McClintock in Tempe Arizona, when I got hooked to a pharmacist his name was Jeremy, he was tremendous he looked up numerous drugs for me, when I apologized for taking his time when I knew they were so swamped he assured me that that was their job and he was happy to do it. I received different medication from what I was used to getting. I figured that it was another brand but wanted to be sure. Drugs.com didn't have pictures that I could reference so I visited the 1745 Southern Ave Walgreen's pharmacy where it was filled. The pharmacy technician Jose went to great lengths to assure that I had the right medication. He resourced and tracked the medication on the computer to hone in on the stock bottle that provided the information that I needed. It was true that it was a different company and the correct medication and dose. Thank you Jose for your STELLAR customer service. It's definitely an art these days and you have what it takes. I am convinced this is quite possibly the worst pharmacy in the world. I have a recurring birth control prescription that I pick up every month. Every single month for the last year it hasn't been ready for me when I show up to get it. The staff always blames me, saying "well it's not on auto refill so you have to wait". Every time, my response is "please put it on auto refill", which they tell me they do. This is clearly not the case since this happens every time I go in. Please get it together - your location is so convenient, but your staff are so confused and disorganized! read more

This review is about their Pharmacy, I don't shop at Walgreens for other reasons that are not necessarily relevant to this review. I first tried to fill my prescription at CVS and was politely recommended to try another place because they wouldn't be able to fill my prescription for at least a week because they were in short supply. So I decided to give Walgreens a try since it was relatively close. I went to drop it off and they told me to hold on to see if they had my prescription in stock. He returned saying it wouldn't be a problem and to come back in 2 hours. I received a call around that time saying they needed to contact my Doctor before going any further. Days go by and I check back twice each day, once in the morning and once at night. About a week later I called and spoke with someone from the Pharmacy (who was fairly rude and less than helpful) to figure out what was going on. I was told that they had left several voice mails for my doctor (because supposedly they didn't answer) and had faxed them every morning and have yet to get a reply. That seemed weird so I called my doctor right away (they answered before the second ring) and was told that they had never received contact from Walgreens on my behalf. After several phone calls back and forth I asked the Pharmacy rep to call my doctor again and confirmed the correct contact information. They refused and demanded my doctor call them instead. Fed up, I had my doctor call to which they later told me that the whole reason for this mess was because Walgreens was in fact 2 pills short of my prescription and was trying to buy time until their next shipment. They told my doctor all of this and that they should be able to fill it 'any day now'. I returned to Walgreens to get my unfilled script back so I can find a company that will be honest with me and work with me. After speaking with multiple attendants and being told I wasn't in the system they eventually found me and returned my script. It goes without saying that I will never be returning to Walgreens Pharmacy. read more

Wow! I switched to this location based on hours and location, but boy am I glad I did! I've filled with them a few times now, twice while sick (so the personalized care is even more appreciated). A gentleman named Niko helped me the first time via phone and he was so kind and helpful. Today I went to the doc and have the need for another antibiotic because the first type didn't work. They accidentally called my RX into my previous store. Dawn went above and beyond and called the other store, worked out an arrangement since their system was down and had my RX transferred to this location. AND she said she'd call me afterwards and she did! Dawn was very be kind, helpful and you could tell she loves helping people. Now that I have moved away from my Walgreens of the last 5 years or so, I can really appreciate the true superiority of this location. Let me 'splain: 1. This location is open 24 hours. When I need whatever anyone needs from Walgreens at 4:00 in the morning, I can have it. I now pass by three Walgreens on the way to my new job, and not one is 24 hours. WTF? I am an early commuter, and sometimes I need things early. Damn you, Scottsdale Walgreens! 2. Not once has this location EVER screwed up my or my husband's prescriptions. Avoid the Thomas Rd location near Home Depot. I swear it is always full of trainees and just a hot mess all the time. Even the 7th St. at McDowell location we now use has its share of dingbats. Not so at the perfect Tempe pharmacy. 3. I have never experienced or witnessed rude or inappropriate behavior from the employees at this location. Let's just say that the ones nearer my home are ghetto-fabulous. 4. This store is always clean, bright, and well-stocked. I have never once felt unsafe or unsanitary shopping here, as I have at other Walgreens. Oh, Glorious Southern & McClintock Walgreens! How I miss you!
