Called this location to reschedule an appointment, after approximately 10 rings, someone pick up on their end then hung up. I called back again, after approximately 5 rings a young lady named Meagan answered with an annoyed "Ulta, can I help you?". I attempted to explain the reason for my call, and I was answered with another annoyed, "What? I can't hear you." By that time I was annoyed, so I just hung up. Customer service is not this location's strong suit. The employers need to school their employees on phone manners. If you want customers to keep coming back, professionalism is highly recommended regardless of how your day is going. Okay so Ashley W. is a GODDESS , I was so dumb and bleached my hair at home and she literally saved my hair. It was almost orange / yellow when I came in and she took my back to brown without my hair being destroyed . So let's talk about Paola for a second and now she was disrespectful to my mother. She made is sound like a huge inconvenience for my mom to ask for her gift after she spent MONEY on the ulta products for her free bag or water bottle. She refuses to even look for the bags and made my mom settle on a water bottle. She made this whole thing about how she had to go back into the transaction to even give the gift to her. The other women behind the counter where all giving attitude about it except the women who helped my aunt. She didnt get upset when my aunt asked the same question to her cashier. This review is for Ashourina! She was so kind and so helpful when I came to visit this location. I was so pleased by her welcoming me in the store as soon as I walked in. When she saw me in the skincare area she asked if there was anything I was looking for in particular for this visit. I told her my skin type and how I was looking to try new products considering what I'm using now doesn't make me happy. I was so pleased with her service and how she throughly guided me to different brands and what products target different problem areas. She really opened my eyes to a whole new world of beauty and how it's important to know what you're putting on your face! I also admired how she wasn't in a hurry. As other guests walked in she would continue to welcome every guest in but she made sure to not leave me hanging. I REALLY appreciate her customer service and I believe everyone should visit her when she is working. Just moved to this side of town a couple months ago and was looking for a new place to get my hair cut. I'm pretty picky since a lot of stylists will treat a guy with long hair like they're a woman and you end up with a ridiculous hair cut. I went in to Ulta yesterday and spoke at length with a stylist there who was very helpful. She then set up an appointment for me to get my hair cut with a different stylist. I was very happy with hair cut itself and all of the information and advice they provided. I plan on using them from here on. read more

This location isn't very helpful with their clients. I wandered for quite a bit before finally finding someone to ask questions of, who ended up disappearing with another customer. I also was informed they no longer give out samples due to a lawsuit which I was surprised about. I was speaking to someone about potentially booking services, we seemed to get a long pretty well and she ended up advising me longer than the original person had.....however I went to check out, but decided to go look at something else before I leaving and I'm pretty sure I overheard her and another person talking about me negatively for asking about samples (I didn't know the new policy that they couldn't and any time I've been before the people helping me in the Scottsdale store had insisted on them) and assuming I wanted free services...which I didn't...so this is close my work, and I've gone back but I doubt I will book any services in the future with location and only stop in when I have a quick pick up and already know what I want. I'll visit MAC, Sephora and try to drive out to the Scottsdale location if I'm going to be changing up my routines and products. read more

Every time I walk into the store the service at the register is the worst. One person they'll give a complimentary eye shadow (for your trouble) the next person they won't all the while they have a box filled with them behind the register. The stylist do not know how to cut hair. I've been here twice bad haircut twice. I complained to the salon manager Amber she is a tool. No customer service she was hostile over the phone. She states their policy says if they give you a refund on a bad haircut you can never return to Ulta. This is the most insane thing I have ever heard. It's not my fault their hair stylist cannot do their job. I showed them a picture of myself and told the stylist how to cut my hair. I guess I should've cut my hair. This is ridiculous. I go Presley for highlights and cuts and they are the best Ive ever had. My cut was messed up from a previous place I was worried I was going to have to cut cut all my hair off, but she fixed the cut, and saved my hair. I absolutely love her and will never go anywhere else. Kelly gave me my first facial and waxed my brows. My face has never looked or felt so good. I recommend them to everyone. Extremely disappointed in salon services lack of experience and knowledge. Scheduled an appointment for full highlights and cut and 4 1/2 hours later I left the salon as a brunette. Stylist used a base color which was way too dark and processed highlights after base color and tried two different toners which left me with a horrible end result. The manager did have me come back two days later to correct which left me with hair loss and damage. read more

My husband went in the store to buy a bday gift for me from the Philosophy line. I've used philosophy for years and have shopped at this location for over 10 years. My daughter was in the store the weekend before, took pictures of the products and sent them to him. Well he waited for 20 minutes before anyone bothered to help him and when they did they had the nerve to tell him they never heard of the product and they did not carry it!!!! He left empty handed. I guess an older gentleman was not worth their time. When I go in there they can never answer my questions. I always do my own research before I go in, so I do not need help from these worthless individuals. I'm so disappointed in their customer service and inability to help customers. The manager at this location is amazing! She always goes the extra step to make sure each customer is happy and satisfied with their hair. I was not happy with my original hair cut and she took extra time to fix what the other stylist had missed and it looked great. Went in for a haircut with Kathy. She is a master stylist. Did not listen to me when I told her what I wanted. I asked her to follow what I had....long soft layers and a touch of face framing. She has a very pushy personality and uses it to cover up her lack of ability. I had to asked her to stop cutting and walked out with chopped layers. I will never ever go back. read more

This is the worst Salon ever. Completely mismanaged, with very poor service. The day before my appointment they called some incorrect number, and then cancelled my appointment coz they didn't get an answer!! ( Dhh...they called on wrong #!), that too after I had personally gone to salon and had the attendant correct it. They didn't send any cancellation mail. Made me drive to their salon at 3 pm when its 115 outside and the manager was not even concerned. She was like "Oops, we cancelled your appointment. Sorry. Whatever" Even the store attendants are bad, they will keep chatting among themselves won't even ask if you need any help or suggest any products. I would give them zero stars if I could. I've been here a few times and I've had some really great help. However, this last time I was in there one of the salon workers was in the product area helping someone pick a product. When she finished she asked me and another lady if we needed help. The lady next to me said that she needed help finding a conditioner and I kid you not, the ladies response was "You need a haircut. That's what you need" and proceeded to hand the customer a business card. I realize this doesn't capture the attitude of the whole store, but if that had been my only experience I would do whatever I could to find my products elsewhere. I went in to pick up a few things, I asked one of the women working there for a recommendation regarding shampoo and conditioner. I to,d her that price was a concern of mine at the moment, so she lead me over to Bed Head, were the sign said it was on sale for 9.99. She handed me a large bottle of shampoo and a large bottle of conditioner, I also picked up a bottle of detangler. I grabbed a few more things and went to check out. To my surprise the shampoo and conditioner we're bringing out for $39 a bottle not 9.99 as the sign and the women that worked there told me. A woman walked back to check the price, it took her a while to come back up. She was holding the sign in her hand, she explained to me that the big bottles ( the one the woman that worked there handed me and told me were 9.99) were not part of the sale. She then said that the woman told me the wrong thing, with a very " too bad for you " attitude. I left the store without buying anything. Let me start of by saying that it is very rare that I take the time to write a review. I saw Marie today on a whim for a cut and style and I am SO GLAD I did! I have extremely thick hair, so it takes a very patient stylist to put up with my locks. I haven't had a blow out like I had today in almost 15 years! The cut is adorable, and exactly what I wanted. Marie took a round brush to my hair, and didn't even need to use a flat iron to calm it down afterwards which was a very pleasant surprise. If you want a beautiful cut, and a top notch blowout, PLEASE go see Marie!! I will be back for blow out's for any special occasion, or if I just want to feel beautiful! read more

LOVE ultra! it's my idea of a women's heaven! The lines get pretty ridiculously long sometimes so I can only go when i don't have my baby, but it's worth it! Their staff is just the perfect combo of customer service, very helpful and nice always nearby offering to help, stays close enough for when I do need help but not too close to me or showing me products they "love" that i didn't ask to see or trying to be my friend shopping with me putting in their advice on each thing I browse at. As far as I'm concerned an Ulta is an Ulta no matter where it's located. What makes it a good Ulta is the service. I walked around the cosmetic area & there were several associates making small talk, but no one greeted me. I've worked for MAC for 12yrs so I don't necessarily need a lot of help with makeup, but I like hearing about new products or anything that gets other MUA's excited. I'm an easy sale when it comes to any beauty product. After about 20 mins or perusing & swatching products on my hands. I picked out an urban decay shadow & I wandered over to the self tanner. I'm not familiar with any self tanner & would've loved some help, but again no one spoke to me. A few associates walked by me quickly, but none were close enough to ask for help. I ended up googling the Tan Towel product. The store wasn't busy. It was 7:00pm on a Tuesday. I still purchased $100 in products but wasn't spoken to once in my 45min experience in this Ulta. Moral of this is that if I was spoken I would've spent twice as much plus would've been excited to return in the future. read more

I have been shopping at Ulta's for years and lately the service has seemed to be not as good as it used to be. Before my last two visits I had an employee that was very helpful and I actually bought a skincare kit she recommended that I really like. She listened to what I described I needed/wanted and was very nice and helpful. But my last two visits were not as pleasant. The employee that I asked for help (for choosing a cosmetic) wasn't rude, she helped me but I felt like she was pushing me to make a choice that I wasn't really comfortable with the whole time while being helped. My very last visit was even worse. I felt attitude from two of the employees that were assisting me and again felt pressured to get something I was not interested in even after explaining why I was not interested. I honeslty will probably start going to a new location because I do not like feeling pressured to make purchases. read more

I had two gel manicures here and both were less than marginal. The technician's station was filthy and she pulled her tools out of a drawer and told me her boss didn't like her using her own. She kept sneaking them back in the drawer when her manager wasn't looking. I doubt they have been cleaned properly since she kept hiding them. My gel nails fell off the next day. She was too busy chit chatting with other associates; I think she forgot to cure my nails in between layers of polish. Annoying... I won't be back. read more
