As a client for well over a decade I have always appreciated her talent as well as the small things Laurie does, like going out of her way to accommodate my hectic schedule at times. I've never had a massage before. The reason I tried 502 Salon & Spa was because they offered 30…read moreminute sessions, and I figured if I hated it, it wouldn't last too long. Most places offer 60 and 90 minute sessions (501 also has these options, but I love the shorter ones). I put in my notes when I booked online that it was my first massage and I was nervous it would be painful. When I arrived, the front desk attendant was very kind and took me upstairs to the spa. (Note - not sure how accessible this place is - I did not notice an elevator). My masseuse was Ashley, and she was incredible. She walked me through the process knowing I was apprehensive, explained any add ons, and made me feel at ease. She is so good at what she does, and I genuinely cannot wait to go back.

This was unfortunately the most disappointing salon experience I've ever had. The reception team…read morewas lovely, the ambiance is beautiful, and the stylists are kind and professional. However, the results were consistently not what I requested. I brought in an inspiration photo and clearly stated multiple times that I did not want any red tones. The result was noticeably red/orange and looked nothing like the photo. I called the salon, and they were courteous and offered to correct it. The manager was helpful and encouraged me to return to the same stylist so she could learn from the situation. Although I was uncomfortable with that, I agreed as long as there was guidance. At the redo appointment, I again showed the inspiration photo and reiterated my concerns. Unfortunately, I left with hair that was pinkish/reddish/yellow and extremely dry -- again, not aligned with what I requested. The manager did ask if I was happy with it, but with the stylist present, I felt uncomfortable speaking up and said very little. The situation felt awkward and difficult to address in the moment. While the redo was comped, I was charged approximately $150 for a root retouch. Within just a few days, my silver growth was already visible. At this point, I am over $500 into the experience and have left each appointment feeling embarrassed rather than confident. I've decided to move on and find another salon, but I was truly disappointed by how far the final results were from what was clearly communicated.

Mitchell's Salon & Day Spa was a great experience for me, my sister, and 5 other girls who all got…read moremassages as part of my sister's Bachelorette party weekend in May 2026. They kindly gave us a private room to hang out in and eat snacks and drink champagne and also gave us access to their fridge to store food in for the 4 hours we were there. I would recommend Mitchell's if you are looking for a great spa experience for large groups like a Bachelorette party. There are 5 locations scattered around the Cincinnati area. It is quite luxurious inside, located on the second floor, on top of The Container Store, and offers a wide array of products and services for sale. I didn't buy any products but others in my group did. I did pay for a 60 minute full body massage which cost about $90ish dollars. I haven't had a massage of any kind in about 5 years and, as a jogger, I have some pretty intense knots. My masseuse, Ryan, was kind and most importantly, had strong hands! It wasn't the best massage I have ever had but I do think it was worth the money I paid for the 60 minute session. We all had a wonderful time and felt relaxed and refreshed and ready to tackle the rest of the activities planned for the Bachelorette weekend. Side note: By no fault of Mitchell's, we chose to go to Kings Island the next day after our massages and made our backs sore again from the rough and jerky roller coasters! Whoops!

I wanted to surprise my partner with a couple's massage. I looked around Cincinnati and found that…read moremassage studios that offer massages for two are surprisingly rare, so I was fairly happy to see that Mitchell's Salon & Day Spa provided them for a reasonable price. The booking process was certainly interesting. In order to schedule a couple's massage, you have to purchase a gift card and then call to schedule. You cannot purchase a massage directly through the website- you must buy a gift card, as that is the only option Mitchell's offers to book a massage for two. This is not clearly delineated on the website, but after I managed to purchase my gift card and call in, the woman I spoke to on the phone was very polite and helpful. She took my gift card number and told me she applied it to the massage, so all I had to do was show up hand in hand with my partner. It does seem like their schedule books quickly, so I would definitely plan a little further ahead if I were to come here again- which I won't, and I'm getting ready to explain why. When my partner and I arrived to check in, front desk was not knowledgeable about what they were doing. The receptionist in training (as it said on her name tag), led me to the locker room and pointed out where I should go once I had changed, but failed to do the same for my partner, who had never been to a spa before and was unsure of the protocol. I should also note that front desk never once asked either of us for payment. The massages themselves were wonderful- Julie and Toni were our masseuses, and it was a heavenly experience. They were super polite and very talented. No complaints on that front. What I DID have an issue with was being called the morning after my massage telling me that I hadn't yet paid, despite being told upon booking that I didn't have to worry about paying and never once being asked for payment during the actual appointment. But I have a gift card, so whatever. No big deal, right? Wrong. I gave the lady who called my gift card code- only for her to tell me I owed another $13 on top of the gift card balance. $13! I've already paid $200.51 PLUS a 25% tip for each masseuse. What could I possibly owe thirteen dollars for? We didn't add any extras to our massage. The receptionist tells me that the $13 is to cover taxes. Now I'm irritated because you have called me at work and interrupted my day to try and pry another $13 out of me for taxes, when I have never ONCE in my life had to pay taxes on top of a gift card. If Mitchell's requires you to pay extra taxes, then they should INCLUDE THAT IN THE PRICE OF THE GIFT CARD. It was so unprofessional and frankly just irritating that this is an issue. Imagine if you got a massage gift card for someone and they show up thinking everything is covered, only to be extorted for more cash once the gift card has been applied. A salon of this price and size should not be nickel and diming like this. It's pathetic and embarrassing to treat your customers this way. This customer service experience has been incredibly disappointing, frustrating, and just all around awful. Needless to say I will not be returning. I simply cannot believe that after paying $200.51 plus tip, Mitchell's has the gall to come after me for taxes on top of a gift card where taxes should have been factored into the original price of the card. I mean really and truly, what the heck? Update: I spent my break looking at their website and calling. Their website states that tax is included in the price of the gift card, so I was able to get the surcharge comped after speaking to receptionist. She told me that one of the masseuses is at a "higher level" and that means that they charge more for tax? Whatever, I'm just glad that they took care of it. They asked if I wanted to tip (after I had already tipped, lol). Still won't be back but my opinion of their customer service has increased ever so slightly. Bottom line: massages here are amazing. Customer service, not so much.

This salon IS located in the Walmart (and I am saying this only because there are 2 listing for…read moreSMARTSTYLE in Covington KY area , I am not implying that Walmart has anything to do with this salon, other then lease space, at least not to my knowledge) . My first time in this salon. I was concerned when I saw only one person working, as I had only a few hrs before my Granddaughter had to be at Girl Scouts. He assured me....20 minutes at most. FIFTY minutes later, we were rushed to the room. From there it only got WORSE........ I have the worst haircut ever!! There are blunt choppy cuts, missing gaps and my "to my eyebrow please" bangs are halfway up my forehead. I kinda look like I have a BAD mullet!! At one point, when he cut my bangs, I had water dripping down my face off my chin and a hunk of hair on the side of my nose. He took several minutes, finally got a towel and dabbed some of the water off my face, leaving the hair on my face and my chin dripping. I was stunned when he asked "How's that" as he was walking away ....at this point I just wanted to cry or scream. He was done. I asked to use his blow dryer for my dripping bangs, and dabbed my still wet face. He said yes. I dried my hair. he asked me how it was...an I told him, mind you, I was trying to hold myself together....I told him of all the chops and gaps...he said he thought it looked fine. I wanted to cry!! What a mess! He asked my Granddaughter into the chair i had gotten up from and blew her hair out. Asked me if it was short enough on the sides. All I could think of was getting her the heck out of that salon! So I said it was okay. I told him again at the cash register that my hair was horrible! My words were more like...this is not good, as I was trying to keep me cool. Again, he said he thought it looked fine, "what is wrong with it? he asked", and again I showed and told him of all the chops and gaps. "No, it looks fine, he says" I was holding on to my temper at this point, but said "LOOK!! this is not my first haircut (I am in my 50's), I know bad and this BAD" Well ,I am sorry you think so, and what to you want? To not pay for it?? He said. We agreed that I would only pay for my Granddaughters cut...which I only agreed to as I wanted to run (my fight or flight had kicked in!!) outa there crying. I have since called their customer service. Crying and blathering on about my experience. A year of growing my hair back from my Chemo was destroyed, I said. What was I to do about my lost 7 or 8 inches of hair. Now all hacked away. An my Granddaughters haircut? Matter of factually, the girl on the line agreed to refund me the $ for her cut. Wait...what about my hair?!? Oh, would you like to see the manager?? she asks. OMGosh!!! So, tomorrow I will meet with the manager to see what IF anything can be done to make my hair somewhat presentable. The name of the guy who cut my hair is Michael (in case there are 2 Michael's there, this gentleman was African American about in his...maybe in his 30's) Ohhhh I should say....he comp'd her conditioning treatment. Because of our initial wait, he said. Now wasn't that nice of him. ALSO....I have hunks missing out of the back of my hair. I didn't know this until my daughter gasped when she saw me. Had me turn around for her and really about fell out!! I didn't know about the back, as he did not give me a mirror. Check back, as I will post some pics once i can figure out if I can and how.
