I really loved going to Industry and want to support the individual stylists, but had two interactions with management/policy that were so unpleasant and made me feel so unwelcome. I am a physician and mother of 3, so getting personal care is challenging, at best. Over Thanksgiving weekend (on a deserted day at the salon), I had a cancellation of my childcare and, rather than incur the fee for same-day cancellation, I brought my children, who happily watched a screen in the waiting area. I sought approval for this prior to coming in and it was given because there were only two stylists working that day. The management sent me an anonymous email three days later that was both targeted, hostile, and unnecessary about policy violation. I honestly could not believe they went out of their way to make a loyal patron feel so unwelcome and should have not returned at that point. Today, I had to reschedule my appointment to provide emergency surgical care for a patient. I wanted to reschedule for the following day, but they charged 50% service fee. I have gotten my hair done at different salons in LA, San Francisco, New Orleans, NYC, over many years and had never felt so uncared for. I will not support a business so unfriendly to mothers/working professionals. Penny wise and pound foolish is never a good look. read more

I started going to Industry simply because it was up the street. But now I couldn't imagine leaving. I have seen a few stylists and they are all amazing. They do amazing work on blondes (which can be hard) and they are so easy to work with. They are always listening to me and trying to get exactly what I want! If you need a haircut, this place is fine for that. The ambience is nice and they offer tea and water with your service. If you need a color and have dark hair do not go to Carmen. The dye will come out uneven and it will not be what you wanted. I initially came hoping for a pastel purple color with virgin black hair. We had a consultation and she said it was possible in one session. After the first session it was red, blond and one strand of purple. I had to come back for a customer service appt which was another 5 hours and she still couldn't get to the pastel. Instead of admitting that she could not do what she was promising she could do she kept pressing forward. She admitted that she watched a video on light colors and had to ask the stylist next to her how light she should approach my hair because she had more experience with Indian hair. Indian hair is not textured different than blond or brunette hair it's just a darker color. She should not list vivid or fashion colors in her bio if she can't obtain it. The second session resulted in purple, but a top layer of brown all over again. I trusted someone with my hair to dye it for the first time. I'm disappointed that they did not know the limit of their skills to do what I asked for. It is a whole different discussion if they said this is going to take multiple sessions or we can't get you to pastel. I'm glad I didn't dye all of it because at least I can grow it out and cut it off. I haven't been to other stylists and other customers seemed to like their colors but be wary if they can handle dying dark hair unless you are aiming for an uneven brown. read more

I'll be the first to admit that I wasn't ever really someone that cared too much about my hair, so going anywhere but a Great Clips was definitely a new thing for me... but OH MY GOSH I can't stop coming back to Industry. I've been seeing Jessica every few months for a year now and words cannot describe how great I feel about myself when I leave her chair. She is the absolute sweetest and is so much fun, but above all she truly listens to what you want and makes you not only look great, but feel great. I'm definitely someone who prefers more "edgy" styles and cuts, and a lot of other stylists at other salons don't really get that, and I end up with a less than satisfying result- Jessica totally understands it though and brings your visualization to reality. The salon overall is so amazing and the atmosphere is so welcoming and relaxing- I brought a friend for emotional support for a big chop and now she's wanting to book an appointment! You're always greeted with a smile and offered something to drink, and the products smell amazing and fill the entire salon- my favorite part. The prices are MORE than fair and honestly I'm surprised they don't charge more. I just got my hair cut today by Jessica and it was such a huge chop for me, so I was definitely a little anxious, but as always she listened to what I wanted and gave me tips on how to take care of it at home. One week later my nephew showed up for his haircut ad was charged $45.00. I called to question this and was first told that their prices had been increased during the intervening week. I was then told that my nephew was charged $45.00 because his hair was longer. Funny that is not the price they quoted him when he stopped in a week earlier with my sister. Industry salon was luckily found at yelp with nice reviews, so I booked an online reservation for a hair cut by Jordan to see if it's worth trying there (we can choose date/time and a hair stylist online, which I like). As seen in the picture, their interior is very nice (many green plants relax and calm me a lot). Also, of course, the hair cut by Jordan was perfect. The price for haircuts is reasonable. I decided to make a switch in stylist and asked to schedule an appointment with someone "who is good at cutting layers, texture and shattering ends." They set me up with Jordan. Jordan = color specialist, lead stylist and mentor. Yeah, I can dig it. After sitting in her chair for 5 minutes and explaining my dilemma and desired doo, she gave me the hook up. Complete with a hot towel during the visit to the shampoo bowl and a nice little shoulder massage. I left a good amount of hair weight behind and now have a hair cut as sassy as I am. Perfect! Industry definitely deserves 5+ stars! I walked in, and was greeted ever so kindly. This hair cut was semi spontaneous, so when I asked if they had anything available that day with an apprentice they were more than willing to help and get me scheduled! Even though I was late to my appointment (blame it on the traffic...) Natalie was still super sweet and a great hair dresser! She trimmed me up and gave me an undercut, and I LOVE it! It's so nice having professional people and a beautiful salon to go and relax while they take care of you. Coffee, tea, water, they are more than willing to grab one for you. I went to this salon about 5 weeks ago for a root touch up. I have black hair and left with brown roots. New stylist, first time so I decided to give her another try. Tonight I went back to get a full color and bang trim. They booked me a root touch up and a full cut. That was the first problem. Then she left my bangs in such bad shape I will be wearing a headband for weeks... She offered to give me a number to call....I don't have time to call but that is the ONLY way I would be compensated, best she could do is not charge for the bangs she said... So now I have bad bangs and roots that still don't match with a salon asking for more of my time when I already wasted an evening on bad hair and an inaccurate booking from the start. I talked with my stylist about my dream color/tone and what I would need to do to get there. The stylist went above and beyond, and my hair came out absolutely gorgeous. I'm seriously thrilled with my color. I am getting non-stop compliments, and it's exactly what I hoped for. Honestly, I have paid much more for coloring services at other Cincy area salons, and was way less satisfied. The price point is worth it at Industry. I went here really nervous about getting my hair cut. I've always been one that has had long hair and freaked out about just getting a trim. However, I booked an appointment with Brooke and she was amazing. I showed her ideas of what I wanted. She explained me what she was going to do and gave her opinion about my hair. Went to see Brooke and when I got home I had a ton of build up in my hair. I assume it wasn't washed properly and shampoo wasn't rinsed or she used too much product. I had to wash my hair twice before it all came out. I had no styling such as straightening like the girl before me did so I looked like I had just woken up. I had to wait until the next day to style my hair and see if I really liked it. It was okay, but I didn't have time to go back to the salon because I moved out of state the next day. It's amazing from the reception to the time you checkout. My hair was done by Meagan. She came across as very knowledgeable on my hair texture which I loved because I feel not lot of hairstylists get that. She listened to all my requests. And I am happier with what she did to my hair than the first time I got my short haircut. They also give free cleanup to clients with shorter hair like mine when you just need a little 15 min trim. The lantern lights and the wooden front door start the cool, welcoming decor that continues inside - I love the exposed bricks and wooden beams! That is just the beginning...you are then warmly greeted, offered coffee, tea or water and treated to an amazing scalp massage and hot towel treatment. Now let's talk about the hair cut. Jessica is my stylist and she is wonderful! She offers a neck massage which I ALWAYS accept and she takes her time to understand what cut/style I want. I would have stayed as a faithful client had I not missed my appointment and been charged for it. I know it's their policy and I understand it. I came in to industry today with hopes of getting a bit of a transformation. I originally was quoted $110 when I scheduled a partial highlight and cut for medium hair. When I came to the register, I was given a balance of $150... plus tip. I'm a little thrown off as my hair looks the same as when I arrived today. The staff is very professional and they utilize a modern scheduling system to confirm your appointment via email, send reminders, and send follow up emails after your service for feedback. Wonderful salon in Newport for both men's and women's hair care. I have dermatitis and use a prescription shampoo and I am very picky on the products I use on my scalp because of my condition. Blake was very understanding and helpful in recommending some products and making me feel comfortable without overstepping her limits. She was very thoughtful in recommending styling for me but also taking into account what I wanted. I couldn't be happier with the result. My wife also had her haircut with Blake and she was also thrilled. Blake gave some recommendations regarding color care and cut and was very accommodating.
