Greenline is open again and working with the best sanitation, disinfection and physical distancing practices! I was so happy to get an appointment with Chelsea 'PJ' Pettyjohn today. Although I like the 'pandemic roots' trend, I was more than ready to have my color done and Chelsea always does the best job! Many things changed at the salon and understandably so. First of all, they were able to use the lock down time to make some serious renovations and the salon is looking refreshed and airy! I love the new look, the stations are positioned differently and a much brighter color scheme makes it feel much bigger. Don't worry though, the owl leitmotif is still present ;) Many safety precautions are in place, so that we can all feel safe. The human density limits are strictly followed and everyone is required to wear a mask. I was always very confident in this Salon's sanitation practices, but now it is enforced to an even higher standard. They only work by appointment now, so get yours while you can! Beware that they cannot do any blowouts, so you can request a dry cut, otherwise you will need to leave with your hair wet. I was happy they didn't add any surcharge for extra sanitation, but since you don't get the blowout it feels more fair. Some advice: wear a disposable surgical mask when you have your color done, because the ear loops might get messy and might damage your fancy cloth mask. Do not bring any chunky handbags or food in, help keep everything clean. Make sure you know the new COVID-19 drill posted on their website and fill the waiver online. I got bored and decided to spice up my hair with a little color. Chelsea at Greenline Salon is a goddess among mortals and made the experience so much fun. Having never colored my hair, a friend pointed me to Chelsea and it was the best recommendation. The salon is very clean and has a great relaxed vibe. It felt relaxed and stylish without being pretentious. BONUS: Included with my hair coloring was a hand + arm massage. Super relaxing! When I was seated I was offered a drink (water, coffee, beer, or wine). I decided to stay sober for the coloring, so I opted for the water. Chelsea is very personable and was great to talk to. She also provided some great tips to help the color last longer. The price felt like a great value for the services provided. This is a great salon. It recently went through some renovations and is more open and spacious. They have just expanded and opened an Annex, that is in a separate building. On top of hair services, they do offer an array of other services, like nails, lashes and brows. In the future, also facials. Since they have the second location at the Annex, the salon is even more safe now, with lots of room, spread chairs and safe social distancing practices. Masks, temperature checks etc. are compulsory and some complimentary services (hand massage or mini facial, complimentary drinks) are ceased due to pandemic. I am a regular with Chelsea PJ. She is very nice, very skilled and reliable. I highly recommend her. My Wife gets her color done regularly with Chelsea and it always looks great. read more

I'm the type of gal that enters a salon loudly announcing, "I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH MY HAIR!" I'm likely the worst client as I shrug and grunt my way through a stylist's questions and suggestions. So when someone puts up with me with a smile and grace they are already winning in my book. If they manage to tame my insulting boring thick hair, that's just bonus! I got all of this and more at Greenline. As I was there as part of a wedding party I was even more clueless and helpless than usual. But wow did Greenline step up to the plate. I sat in a chair, grunted and shrugged my way through a consultation and barely thirty minutes later I walked out with the beady up do I've possibly ever had. I've never enjoyed an updo this much! Not only was it beautiful, it also lasted the entire night. Turns out 51 bobby pins is the magic number. I don't eveb know how she hot that many in there but holy cow did it work. Taylor is amazing and I highly recommend her for color!! She's attentive to detail and gives you what you want! I would give her 5 stars! The reason for the 3 stars is because the salon prices are extremely deceiving. I followed up with my service because the cost was $60 higher than I expected per their website. When I called and asked for a breakdown of my cost I was told that my balayage service had what would be the cost of a cut included since my hair was blown dry... which is absurd and not listed anywhere. Also toner is an added cost for balayage but the cost for toner is not listed anywhere on their website so that's another surprise charge. I'm happy to pay what a service costs but to have additional and hidden charges that aren't disclosed and not based on the thickness or length of hair is poor service. read more

I tried this new Salon due to the amazing reviews and it turned out quite nice. My stylist was awesome! The only thing that was a bit disappointing was the entrance and waiting area. It's extremely small and only 2 seats as you wait for your appointment. I think if they had more seats available and offer some beverage such as water it would make their customers more comfortable while they wait. read more

I have been driving by Greenline every day on the way to work and wondered about it. I finally booked an appointment (had a pretty lame haircut a few months ago and my hair's been driving me nuts). I love that you can book online and Greenline responded via email very quickly! Kelsey helped me out and did a great job- she could tell immediately what was wrong with the last cut that I got and fixed it up. I love Aveda products, and love that your wash/cut/style comes with either a mini facial or arm and hand massage! The experience was worth it for $35. The staff are all very friendly and nice. The salon space itself is really cool- two story open space, with a lofted area where the hair washing area is. A lot of exposed brick, pipes, and earthy colors. There are parking spots across the street reserved in the church parking lot, so you don't have to worry about street parking. Added bonus, it's clear that Greenline is part of the Covington community and have a commitment to green living- they were raffling a rainbarrel decorated by local designers BLDG and the proceeds were going to water conservation for Earth day! I love the look, feel, and location of this boutique salon just steps away from Mainstrasse in Covington KY. The stylist all seem very professional and knowledgable about their craft. The inside is beautifully decorated and I always feel relaxed in the building. A mini facial or hand and arm massage is included in the service, which is very nice!! Kelsey has been cutting my hair and I feel she does better each time I go to her. I recently got my hair colored and she did a great job. The color was a drastic change for me but Kelsey listened to what I wanted and did a good job making it happen. Very cozy salon that offers a friendly atmosphere. My stylist is Maria and she never disappoints. Since going to her, I have never had so many compliments on my hair. She listens to what I want but is comfortable offering suggestions. Maria is the head stylist on many of the movie sets that come to Cincinnati but she still stays down to earth and keeps her prices reasonable. I have heard that all the stylists are just as wonderful. Parking is very convenient on the street - no charge! Do not book a color appointment with CC. I have dark brown hair and wanted a "chocolate" brown, just a prettier shade. Not much lighter than my natural color. CC told me that my hair is too dark and the only thing she could do is make it red, or use bleach to lighten my natural shade. I have virgin hair due to cutting it all off from over bleaching in the past and was very hesitant to be bleached, and I said as much. CC said she would just add some highlights to add more depth to my color. I told her I was okay with that (assuming I would still get the pretty brown that I had originally asked for.) After she foiled my hair, she left to take care of another customer. FOR AN HOUR AND A HALF. I told her how scared I was of overbleaching and she just left me with bleach on my hair for an hour and a half. No, I'm not exaggerating. After an hour, I asked her to please check me. She comes over a bit annoyed, checks my hair (which is white at this point) and says it's doing fine. She leaves to finish the other lady for another 30 minutes. She comes back, washes the bleach out, throws some toner on me, and says I'm done. I didn't get any all over color which is what I wanted to begin with. It looked okay so I didn't say anything and went ahead and paid. After washing my hair the next day, it was rough. It legit felt like straw. I booked an appointment with my usual stylist to fix my hair a couple weeks later. By that point, the highlights CC had given me were bronze and hideous. My usual stylist fixed me up with some color and damage treatment. I have been to Greenline before with Chelsey and she has always done a good job but because of CC, I'm sorry to say that I won't be back. I don't know if she just doesn't know how to do color or if she was just too lazy to do what I asked but it's not acceptable. read more

I'm always partial to an Aveda salon, so that automatically is a point in their favor. I literally hadn't had a haircut in over a year (don't judge me, I've got a 7 year old), and Maria didn't shame me once, which O highly appreciated. I don't normally write reviews, but I want to give credit to this great hair salon and especially my new hair stylist, Chelsey. The receptionist greeted me with a warm welcome and an offer of a beverage. My hair was then shampooed and hands massaged. Chelsey then greeted me and we discussed how I wanted my hair cut. I usually wear my hair long but I wanted my hair cut short on the sides and a little long on top. I was nervous at first, but she did a perfect job. Afterwards, my hair was shampooed again and my face was massaged with an ointment of some sort and a hot towel placed on it. Wow! What a great experience! I've never had a hair cut and a spa-like treatment like this and I will definitely be back again!! They live up to their reviews! read more

I stumbled upon this place by shear desperation. I had a wedding to go to, my boyfriend was the best man and we were both looking a little disheveled. From day one Caitie has understood what I've wanted. I'm not real adventurous when it comes to my hair and I'm kind of set in my ways when it comes to cut and color. Now I just give her a jumping point and let her go with it. I trust her. My boyfriend jumps between Lindsay and Maria and both of them do an awesome job on him! I was nervous coming in bc I was cutting off a good amount of hair, and the last time I had 13 inches cut off, at a different salon, I hated the end results. Chelsey was my stylist and she made me feel really comfortable. She explained a lot of what she was doing and how to style my newly short hair, among other things. She got my cut exactly right and styled it perfectly. I seriously couldn't have been happier with my experience. Not only is the salon cool and cozy, they offer you a beverage as soon as you walk in, and they give you the choice of a mini facial or a hand/arm massage with every service. Plus the prices are super reasonable. I got a cut and style, plus she did some kind of glossing process to make my hair look shinier and the total came out to 50 bucks. Today was my first time at this salon. Brittany invited me to stop by sometime and I am glad I did. I walked in and was greeted and offered something to drink. They hung my coat up for me and made me feel at home. The stylist talked to me and understood what I was looking for. I got wash and a great style and then another wash and rinse. They also gave me a partial facial, something I have never had plus a arm and hand massage. Then they dried my hair. This may not sound like much but for $20 I felt like it was a experience I plan on having whenever I need a hair cut. Great experience, service, value and last but not least GREAT STAFF. read more

My first experience here was great, and I recommended them to everyone but this most recent experience was less than perfect. The cut I received was great, as it was the first time. But this visit I didn't receive any of the "extras" that are included with the service such as a mini facial, scalp massage etc. That was pretty disappointing, considering this isn't a cheap haircut. My stylist was sick, so maybe that's why because the whole experience felt rushed. I was also charged twice for my service, and when I called to ask them about it the receptionist said "oh one charge is pending, it will probably go away in the next few days". First off, let me preface that I used to get my haircut at Great Clips/Supercuts type of places, but my normal spot was closed today without any notice on the door for why it was not open. Well, that place has now lost my business permanently, because I'm only going to Greenline. It was $30 for a men's cut which is around twice as much as those chain salons but it was well worth it. First off, they offer you a drink when you get in the door, even a beer, but my cut was a little early in the day to start imbibing so I had a coffee instead. Next, I got one of the best cuts in my life (shoutout to Clare who was very nice and chatted with me for the whole cut). My SO can't stop commenting about how good my hair looks. Finally, you get a wash, a facial, and a hand/arm massage. For all of that, they use Aveda products which are great. Greenline is definitely where you should be getting your hair cut, I know its where I will from now on. read more

I was amazed when I went to pay to be under $100 for a color and cut! The service was spectacular and Kelsey was great. I left with a banging new cut and some fabulous highlights with ombre. I had Ashley do a cut & style, Keratin treatment, and root touch up. OMG I have never looked so good. She did an amazing job. I feel like a million bucks with the new hairdo. I admit I had touched up my own roots and they came out the wrong color. Ashley corrected the color without even a giggle. The conversation was wonderful - it just flowed and time flew by. The cut was the best I have ever had. It just matched me perfectly. The place was beautiful and very relaxing. I have never felt better going to a Salon.
