I originally came here for a Yelp event and was super impressed by not only the beautiful space, but the people. Per a deal I came back to try out a highlight with Jennyfer and it is by FAR the best I've ever had! She is super knowledgeable and friendly. I highly highly recommend her! Whether you've never done highlights/color before or you have and want to improve on it, she is your woman! The results are so natural looking! In addition to this service they offer SO MUCH more! They have one of the most talented nail design artists I have EVER seen. Her name is Stephanie. She can do the most amazing free hand designs. I saw a picture of the Grinch she did, first try, and her own nails were stunning. She did a nice polish change for me that made my nails look like a sparkly winter wonderland! There is a huge boutique retail as well as salon products. I also had a nice eye brow wax. From the moment I walked in for my appointment every stylist that walked by asked if I had been helped. Brianna was so friendly when I went to her for the first time, and I enjoyed my time spent there. Before she started, she talked to me about how warm highlights vs ashy would look better with my natural hair color and complexion, and she explained that she needed to start my balayage higher than I wanted to look more natural with my hair. She sounded more experienced than she actually is. Near the end of my appointment, her next appointment arrived. She blow-dryed my hair, didn't style it, and didn't get a mirror to show me the back of it. I respected the fact that she needed to hurry to get to her next appointment. I thought the front highlights looked a little patchy, but I didn't get to see it styled. It was hard to judge right then and there. When I got home and looked at the back in the mirror and the front more closely, I was so disappointed. I enjoyed my appointment so thoroughly that I didn't want to write a poor review or hurt Brianna's feelings. On the other hand, I can't justify spending over $100 and not being pleased with the outcome. I went in with it being months since having balayage done at another salon, and I understand it's a process to get the look I was going for; however, my balayage looks like uneven grown-out highlights and SO patchy in the front. The color looks faded (not fresh AT ALL), and the bottom is totally blonde with no dimension. The cut is straight across and doesn't look layered as she discussed doing. I feel as though I should have saved my $108 and kept my hair the way it was. I have been trying to find a new hair stylist, since the one I went to for years stopped doing hair. I was hoping to find someone new that I could trust when I saw Brianna at Doubletake in Florence. I had no idea going in that she had so little experience and wish that when I was originally texting her weeks ago pictures of my long/thick hair and what I wanted done that she may have referred me to someone else with more experience or suggested doing something different to it. I sent this review to the salon after receiving my text receipt from them, and I have heard nothing back from anyone. I made a 911 appointment with a stylist I haven't gone to in over 5 years that is located very far away just to fix this disaster. People, people, people - listen up. Doubletake Salon is where it's at! They have just expanded and are planning a grand re-opening October 25th from 1-4pm. They've added nails, waxing, blowouts, spruced the place up a bit, and even added private stylist rooms where you can get everything done in one room (great for bridal parties etc). What I love MOST is this is about as local as you can get. Stop going to those big box places where you are just another number. Here you will get treated like you are family. There is no one behind you rushing your stylist to finish. They are not exhausted all the time from cramming everyone in. They get to make their own schedules which also means that they can be flexible with yours. Like I mentioned in my previous review Amanda is my stylist and out of everyone in my life, I seriously think I would DIE without her. She knows what I want before I even say it. I can speak candidly with her and she is honest with me about what will look good. She recently started doing a brow wax for me and I am addicted for life! I'm just amazed that I can get a cut and highlights for around $100. I used to pay (and I'm ashamed to say) upwards of $250! Very upset. I messaged a stylist and was very clear with what i wanted. I wanted a bayalage style. I sent pics of what i wanted. I wanted my roots to stay dark with my natural brown, and blended into my already highlighted hair, just wanted the transition softened. My hair was very blotchy and had been heavily highlighted. I went back this evening to have it fixed, and now my roots are pink. 2 times, both negative experiences. The owner, i think her names Diana, said to come in agsin and she would paint a dark color back on my roots. By this time, im done, and I'll go somewhere else to have my hair fixed. I asked for a refund and she rudely said i would not get any portion refunded. I sent her pictures of my hair, and she insists that i go back for a 3rd time. Heck no. I had a appointment back in May with Tricia she had something come up and called the day before my appointment to cancel, so I had to stress to her how much I wanted my hair done because it was my birthday. Tricia found another stylist to pick up my hair appointment. I have had my hair done just about everywhere and have paid high prices. Then I went to Double Take. Debra does my hair. I could never get my hair to look the way I wanted to after I left the salon. For the first time ever my hair looks good when I do it. The color and haircut grows out so beautifully. I never have an awkward period. I received more compliments on my hair than I ever have! Not only that but Debra is easy to talk to. It's not forced. She is just friendly and down to earth. You also can get some shopping done. They have the cutest gifts for sale. I give this salon 3 stars for a few reasons. Positive: -They got me in within an hour. -The shop was cute. -Great location. -Was able to book an appointment online through Yelp. Negative: -I only learned that I could book online because no one answered the phone for me to book over the person. -Other people called when I was there - the owner looked at the phone (who was calling) then continued chatting with her customer. The customer went to voicemail. -I am not overly thrilled with the cut. The cut itself is fine but the length is a little shorter than I had hoped. That is mostly my fault. I should have been more clear what "not above my shoulder" means. -Most importantly, Yelp said my cut, color and highlight would be $120. Somehow I was charged more than $30 over that??? I am from out of town and just flew in for the day for work. Not sure if I'd go back but if I'm as desperate next time as I was this time, I probably would. I hadn't heard of this brand until this event, but now I'm hooked! The salon also sells Moroccan Oil products that smell amazing and really defined my curls! I definitely will be back! read more

I love that this is a locally owned small business, and everyone that works here is friendly. They sell all kind of cool products. Not just a plethora of hair products but also jewelry, handbags, scarves, and more. They have little latte machine and cookies while you wait, and I just happened to find it because I followed my stylist here when she left her old job to work for the owners. Double Take is a beautiful salon with a wonderful group of hairdressers! I have been going to Deanna for 3 years, and always receive compliments on my hair! She is accommodating, patient, and always takes the time to work with you in order to get the hairstyle and color that you want. If you have blonde hair and are selective about who colors your hair like I am, Deanna is your person! She is also experienced in placing HotHeads extensions, (which I have had done by her for the last year and a half,) which she also does a great job on! Deanna, one of the owners, cut my hair several times. I thought I had found my new stylist after relocating to NKY. However, she has now lost my business. At my last appointment, I told one of the other stylists I was here for my appointment with Deanna. Waited 15 minutes. Never saw Deanna. Left because I felt forgotten and my time was being disrespected. Sent her a text after I ran some errands because I never heard anything from her. Again, I had been to her several times and am not one to be a no show or not contact the stylist if I get held up at work and would be a few minutes late. Deanna replied that she had looked in the waiting area, but didn't see me even though I sat in the waiting area for 15 minutes. Not sure why she didn't see me or why the stylist, who had asked me if I had an appointment, didn't let Deanna know I was waiting. She said if I came back at 515, which was about 30 minutes from when I received her reply, she could fit me in. While it was an attempt at repairing the bad service I had received, the timing was inconvenient (which is why I made the appointment for earlier in the first place). Deanna never followed-up with me. I'm really disapppointed in lack of concern she showed for retaining a repeat client. read more
