I was able to make an appointment for my husband and my 2 brother in laws for a same week appointment which we are grateful for. They reached out quickly and scheduling was easy. However, not sure what happened with the haircut but it was pretty awful. It was really disappointing since we had a funeral the same week and the haircuts were probably worse than super cuts. I had the most delightful experience at Swayne on Main. As soon as I walked in I noticed all staff and patrons had masks on which made me feel safe. I walked upstairs to Maddie's station to get started. I got a wash, cut and style. Maddie was very attentive and careful with how I wanted to cut my hair. Sawyne On Main is a great salon that isn't the typical over-the-top modern salon. It's a very down to earth salon with a staff that is focused on you - not the aesthetics of the salon. My favorite stylist is Kim O'Toole - ask for her, she is great! Kim is young and extremely talented. She is very easy to talk to and listens to what I'm looking for with styling, color, cut, etc. I trust Kim's judgment and give her full creative range on my locks. Most recently I asked Kim to update my everyday look since I've had the same cut/color for years. She fired up my color with a new red tone and then cut a small amount of layers into my hair to give it some extra shape when I wear it straight down. I couldn't have been more thrilled. She has also done various special styles for weddings, events, etc and would highly suggest her. She'll even give you the scoop on which salon products are worth the money. The salon space at Swayne On Main is very comfortable and inviting. It is filled with art from local artists and changes every few weeks. Pricing is very reasonable. read more

Swayne on Main is a full-service hair salon in the Main Strasse area. It's located in a remodeled home, with nice wood floors and attractive accents. I didn't know a stylist in Northern Kentucky and got lucky when I booked my first local hair appointment there, even getting a last minute appointment. I thought the prices were reasonable for a cut and color weave. My stylist recommended salon hair care products, Pureology, which I also purchased there. read more

As previous reviews state this is a clean, professional and friendly salon. My stylist was really mellow and nice, I didn't feel stressed about having her take a sharp object to my naturally curly hair. She did a great job evening it out and explaining different types of hair facts associated with my hair. In that sense it was really nice to have a stylist who was both professional and down to earth. On the other hand I still did not or could not convince her to cut it the way I wanted. Maybe a picture from hair magazine or something would have helped. I did feel that she was looking out for me as far as what would be ideal stylewise but again, it wasn't what I wanted. Like most people I know my hair pretty well and had something specific in mind which I've had done in the past but my stylist felt it was a dangerous leap of faith with potentially disasterous results. Overall this is a good quality salon but a tad on the conservative side...if you're looking for something more inspired or off the wall I'd try elsewhere. read more

Have to say, Trish R impressed me, that she would fly from NYC to keep her stylist...so I had to check them out. So glad I did! I got great, hip and cute cut from Shannon T. Kevin Swayne has been cutting my hair since I was a child and styling my mother's hair for longer than I've been alive. This is not to say it is because of tradition that I choose Kevin as my hair stylist of choice. I choose to go there because after all of the things that I've done to damage my hair and all of the horrendous haircuts and colors I've received elsewhere, I can count on him to not only correct it, but to make my hair look as though it shouldn't look any other way. After spending an hour at this charming salon on Main street, I can certainly understand why someone would fly in from NY to go there! Like every good Yelper, I looked up reviews online for Hair Salons when I recently moved to Covington- and I was not dissapointed! I booked an appointment with Kevin based on the reviews and was extremely happy with his service. They made me feel welcome immediately and took the time to tell me about restaurants and different things to do in the area. His co-worker even made a few minutes for me to do my eyebrows which I had not set an appointment for. Their prices were reasonable and the hair cut was perfect! I am so happy I found this place! I just moved to the Covington area from Buffalo and took my chances going to Swayne on Main. Kevin was amazing! I had such a messed up haircut going in and he literally gave me the best cut and color I have ever had! The rest of the staff was so awesome as well, I felt so comfortable the entire time. Everyone there really seems to know what they are doing although i really loved Kevin i dont think you could have a bad experience here. I really cant say enough good things about Swayne on Main. I had an appointment with Keary to have balayage done to my hair. She is so talented and did an amazing job!! She made great suggestions and was very tuned into what I wanted. I made an appointment based on all of the raving Yelp reviews, hoping for the best, but after my appointment I realized that what I asked for in a haircut and what I got were quite different. I asked to cut some length, about 4", and I admit, I had very long hair when I went in, but when I left, there was more hair on the floor than was left on my head. I almost cried. I can't offer testimonial to how well they treat short hair, but if you like your long locks, I advise looking elsewhere. I got the distinct feeling that they were rather unprofessional, 'scissor-happy stylists'. I wanted to rave about these folks, but I won't be back. read more
