Mitchell's Salon & Day Spa was a great experience for me, my sister, and 5 other girls who all got massages as part of my sister's Bachelorette party weekend in May 2026. They kindly gave us a private room to hang out in and eat snacks and drink champagne and also gave us access to their fridge to store food in for the 4 hours we were there. I would recommend Mitchell's if you are looking for a great spa experience for large groups like a Bachelorette party. There are 5 locations scattered around the Cincinnati area. It is quite luxurious inside, located on the second floor, on top of The Container Store, and offers a wide array of products and services for sale. I didn't buy any products but others in my group did. I did pay for a 60 minute full body massage which cost about $90ish dollars. I haven't had a massage of any kind in about 5 years and, as a jogger, I have some pretty intense knots. My masseuse, Ryan, was kind and most importantly, had strong hands! It wasn't the best massage I have ever had but I do think it was worth the money I paid for the 60 minute session. We all had a wonderful time and felt relaxed and refreshed and ready to tackle the rest of the activities planned for the Bachelorette weekend. I used to like this place, but the last THREE times I have gone, the stylists have not listened to my simple request and barely cut any of my hair. I don't mind paying $85 for a good hair cut by trained professionals, but the services I've received lately are not acceptable. Asking for an inch off and debulking should not be a hard task. We came here this past Friday to get our nails done for my wedding on Saturday. The event coordinator we worked with to get the private room booked was so incredibly nice and helpful. She even worked with me on communicating with the technician to make sure I would receive the look I wanted for my wedding day. The event room was clean and spacious, and they provided us with refreshments and allowed us to bring additional drinks and food. All the technicians and staff we interacted with were so cute, friendly, and professional. Evelyn did my nails and they turned out perfect! She is very good at what she does. I love the nail techs at Mitchell's. They are always professional and fun to talk to while they do my nails. However, switching to OPI polishes was the worst decision they have ever made. The gel polish comes off in whole casts from my nails within a week of application every single time, and I'm getting fed up. OPI polish is absolute crap. CND always lasted over two, up to three weeks before it started chipping and cracking. Please switch back. If I didn't love the nail techs so much (who follow the application process to a tee I might add), I would go somewhere else. For the exorbitant amount of money I spend, the nail polish quality should be far better. I could spend $60 at a podunk, backwater solan and get this same result. This is bullshit. read more

I gave this place another shot. Disappointed to say the least. I got a builder gel manicure with french. Upon getting home, I noticed so many imperfections in the white- looks like there are globs of white in certain places and not at all even. I also just had 3 nails crack on the sides. The person who did my nails said she had been doing them for 30 yrs... surprising since they are uneven, not all shaped the same, and tons of lifting. Never ever again. Ill go back to Delux in Madeira or woodhouse before I'll ever step foot in this place again. Oh, lastly... she didnt clean up my cuticles... like just didnt do it. Best haircut I've had in many years! I needed to find a new hairstylist and decided to try Mitchell's. I made an online account and set an appointment for a haircut. I probably should've taken advantage of the free consultation because I was extremely nervous upon getting in the stylist's chair. I had been with my previous stylist for 10 yrs. and I just wasn't happy with the results most times. The last time I went she took 9 inches instead of the 4 inches we had discussed, it was very uneven and she turned my daughter's hair a brassy yellow that day too. I never went back and that was a year ago. Well, my step daughter is getting married soon and my hair was really in need of a good cut. Thank goodness I found Melissa at Mitchell's! On a whim on a recent day trip to Cincinnati, I decided to make a haircut appointment. Mitchell's website is easy to navigate on a smartphone and I was able to create an account quickly and schedule an appointment, filtering by preferred stylist or time of day. I scheduled with Megan. She was personable and after a quick consult, gave me a cute haircut. The reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is that the checkout was a bit awkward. Employees checking out customers were fielding phone calls at the same time. The cashier asked me if I wanted to leave a tip using my card so I had to do math pretty quickly then say out loud how much I wanted to tip, so they could put cash in an envelope. I came into the kenwood location with 3 pictures. I left with my hair looking nothing like any of the pictures. I was so disappointed with my hair I went to the Hyde park location the same day. Appointment was for 6PM and I was pulled from my seat up front around 6:15, so not too long of a wait. My technician was Anne and she had a pleasant and welcoming demeanor. Everyone had to wear mask while in the salon. I got a pedicure and a manicure. My service took almost 3 hours. The salon offers massages and hair styling as well, but I didn't receive any of those services. I highly recommend Anne or this salon if you need manicure or pedicure. read more

Went this place a few years ago and I'm leaving a review because this experience made me afraid to go get my hair done. I went to see someone and it my first time ever getting highlights. I must've accidentally scheduled a partial highlight because when i showed the her my inspo she said i should've booked a full highlight. I said i understand and told her do whatever you can because that was my fault as this was my first experience getting my hair colored She was running behind and seem annoyed I was even here. She refused to talk to me during the whole process and seemed pissed. I'm a very forgiving person and even when i came back the second time she did the same thing and seemed upset i was even there. I recently treated myself to the relaxation package for my birthday and I'm so glad I did!! I had a great experience at Mitchell's Salon in Kenwood! Once I arrived, I headed to the locker room to get changed. It's pretty spacious and allows you to undress comfortably before your services. There was only once bathroom, so that did result in a small wait, but not a deal breaker. After that head to the relaxation room before someone gets you for your service. Nice right? First I had my my massage with Dawn. 60 delightful minutes!! It was so relaxing and the masseuse really knew what I needed. She was friendly and upbeat, and only engaged in conversation at the start so I could fully relax. Again, it was amazing!! I then proceeded to get a facial with Natalie. I was a little skeptical, because I've never had one and didn't want anything products to break my face out. My esthetician was very knowledgeable and walked me through the entire process. Even the extraction process (super painful) was made better by her understanding and gentleness. At the end she recommended some great products. Although we were different ages and ethnicities, I feel like she really took the time to understand my skin. Carmen did my nails and she was great! Spunky and kind, but very talented! You could tell everyone there really likes her. She did a great job and really enhanced my experience through conversation! Although the services are pricey, I definitely hope to visit again soon! Scheduling issues wasted my whole day. I had an appointment scheduled here for 6:00 pm for an all over color. Was called same day and asked to reschedule for a 4:15 pm appointment since my regular stylist was having some personal issues. I agreed to the reschedule, even though I live an hour away and had to take a partial day off work for this appointment. I arrived early at 3:45 pm and checked in with the receptionist . I sat in the lobby until 4:30 pm before asking if there was an issue. Found out the receptionist who checked me in had checked me in incorrectly so the stylist was not notified I was there. They went to get the stylist and said since they checked me in incorrectly I would have to leave with my hair WET after the appointment. Ended up just cancelling the whole service because I didn't want to drive an hour home with wet hair and not even seeing what the color looks like. This was met with eye rolls from the stylist Rowan, her assistant, and the front desk. I drove two hours and took off work for nothing. So many issues. So the salon itself is nothing special. There is no relaxation space (was closed the day I went), you don't get offered anything to drink while you wait for your services, the bathroom/locker room was not very clean (I had a ton of dirt at the bottom of my locker and didn't even want to use it)..... the saving grace of this salon was Emmie (facialist). She was outstanding. I did a euphoria facial with her and came out with glowing skin that everyone commented on. I was so happy with her facial. She was back with the beautician for 19 minutes. She did not get a shampoo/condition even though it was part of the cost. When I asked the beautician why not, she said because her hair was already dry and straight. What sense does that make? If she came with wet hair, would she then shampoo/condition it again? My favorite relaxation activity! The spa pedicure! Kelly was amazing! I can't wait until my next visit! She was super gentle and caring. The place was as clean as always. This was my third visit here. I will never go back to one of those other nail salons again. They believe their guests comfort and safety is important. After stepping off the elevator I had my temperature checked and was immediately ushered to a seat covered with a towel until being taken back for my appointment. I've never had a treatment here, but I am really impressed with the customer service I've received from Mariea in the call center. I ordered 3 gift cards to be mailed out right after Thanksgiving. A month later, I still haven't received them. Mariea was super helpful in cancelling the old ones, reissuing new ones and making sure I could pick up the new ones in person at my preferred location. She really went above and beyond in her email correspondence with me to make sure the problem was solved, and I'm really thankful to her! read more

I loved my first experience at this salon. I went for an hour long aroma therapy message. When I got there I was quickly signed in and guided to the locker room where I got a rob and a locker. Then I went to the relaxation room to wait for my massage. This room was amazing. There were individual chaises to sit and relax. It was warm and kind of dark. The massage itself was great. She got all my problem spots and the oils smelled amazing. At one point I'm pretty sure I fell asleep! This place is a little expensive but it's so worth it! read more

Or maybe it was just the person I had, who know b/c I dont. $80 Not counting tip for my feet to be touched maybe for 15 min max, out of the 1 1/2 u sit there. My feet literally was sitting in water or in a towel the entire time. While i sat there and watched her do her side work for the day.The Lady next to me feet were constantly getting worked on basically the whole time i was there and she arrived before me???..... there was still mass dead skin on my heals and the 2 min she spent on my legs..... got frustrated when I asked her to apply more pressure???.... 100% disappointed with the lack of service I received for my pedicure.... Smh what a shame ..... I figured i would treat myself to a more pleasurable experience, rather than go to a typical nail shop..... In all honesty, my feet looked better when i paid $35.... I booked a standard pedicure for my girlfriend and I to spruce up our toes before vacation. Upon our arrival they were friendly and offered us water. The pedicure itself was good, and I had nothing negative to say. When we checked out, the price of mine was $79 and the price of my friends was $49. Apparently the woman I was with was an "expert" yet I did not request that nor did they inform me of the different options when booking. I treated my friend (and myself) to the pedi's and although I was surprised by the almost $100 pedi (after tip) I went with it anyway. Fast forward 2 days later and my pedicure was chipping and the polish was creased / folding over on multiple toes. By day 7 I couldn't stand it and got myself a $35 one that has stayed on (and in mint condition) for 2 weeks now. To spend almost $100 for a pedicure with regular polish that didn't last more than 2 days is not acceptable. Needless to stay I'll stick with my $40 pedicure from Deluxe that looks great and lasts months. Disappointed to see Mitchell's has gone down hill. read more

I found Lillian online after she put out a model call. She's within her first year of training with Mitchell's and needed some practice so I volunteered. I arrived in Kenwood just before my appointment. You have to take the elevator upstairs so budget that in your time. Upon entering, I was really pleased with how clean, professional and bright the salon was! The ladies checked me in and within minutes I was back with Lillian. This salon is huge! I can imagine this place sees a literal ton of clients. The booths are large with double mirrors and a nice, comfy chair. I had a lot of hair so Lillian and I discussed donating it to Pantene. She measured it and got started right away. I have extremely thick, wavy hair so it took quite some time to get through the cut (almost two hours!) but I left extremely confident and absolutely loving my new, shorter style. Lillian is engaging yet also learning! Which is fine with me! I love that we didn't feel obligated to make small talk the entire time! I'd rather have my stylist focused :) we did a dry cut and didn't have time for a wash and dry but hopefully next time I can get this done and update! Only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because I did have to clip a very small strand when I got home but once again, this was just a model call and she is still perfecting her cuts! In the meantime, I love my cut, I enjoyed the light product she used to straighten my hair and I will be going back! read more

One star is for getting the length right. Been coloring my medium-dark brown hair to light brown, myself, for years. Decided I wanted to go shorter and lighter so I booked an appt. I was explicit and specific about what I wanted. Someone decided semi-permanent - NOT what I wanted and didn't know that was what was being done until after. Besides, you can't go lighter with semi-perm. Stylist showed me a swatch and I told her it was too red and too dark. I lost count with how many times I said I wanted to go a shade lighter than what I currently was. Long story short-ended up with darker brown than my natural color with clown-car red. Stylist said it was the bad lighting in the salon and if in a week I didn't like it, she could strip the color!!!!! I didn't like it THEN!!!!!! That's when I found out it was semi-perm color (actually a blessing - not stuck with this god awful color). I've had EXCELLENT massage therapists. I like their relaxation room for time spent before and after services. I will continue to give my business to them. Went in for a massage. Got there twenty minutes early to enjoy robe and decompressing time prior to treatment. They plopped me in the general lobby (no robe etc) until ten minutes past my massage time. Then the therapist comes to get me and says 'do you want to put on a robe or come right back'. Well considering the massage was supposed to start ten minutes ago, I guess I'll go straight in. He wasn't wearing a uniform, just jeans and a button down which was odd. It was supposed to be deep tissue but was very light pressure. The worst part was the walls are super thin and the therapist in the next room was talking loud. I just cried over a hair cut for the first time since I was 13. Made an appmt for today. They only had an opening for an express cut for evening hours. 35 minute wait after check in, 8 minutes for wash and cut. Hairdresser had another customer who had been waiting under the heating lamp and she came out to ask how much longer she had to sit. The guy cut my hair at super speed and quickly went to tend to the other lady. I was left to walk out front by myself with my hair dripping wet. So no blow dry also means no towel dry. Jean is my favorite massage therapist at Mitchell's Kenwood. She really knows body work. She intuitively knows what is happening in your life by what is going on in your body and helps you move through your journey to healing and health. I highly recommend her for massage! Gayle is my favorite for facials! She is so kindhearted and creative! She speaks from the heart and allows you to just relax. What I live most is her motto is to make you look and feel beautiful! I have been going to this salon for years with my girlfriends. I could usually give them a great rating, but in the last year and a half, I have received a call at least twice now from the salon, canceling my appointment (now, these appointments were all made at least 4 weeks prior and all were part of a group setting) telling me that my spa specialist quit/got fired/walked out, whatever. Don't know why this keeps happening to me I always tip at LEAST 20% every time. Extremely unprofessional, I won't be going back. Ever. read more

However, when I registered online, although it said I was signed up for a manicure and pedicure, I arrived to find out it was only a pedicure. But Jamie, the professional who did my pedi, fixed the whole thing...found another lovely woman to do my manicure, and all was fine. (With the exception that I was hoping for a French manicure but there just wasn't time in the manicurist's schedule to get that done. But I'm so thankful she could get me in.)
