I probably should've taken advantage of the free consultation because I was extremely nervous upon getting in the stylist's chair. I had been with my previous stylist for 10 yrs. and I just wasn't happy with the results most times. The last time I went she took 9 inches instead of the 4 inches we had discussed, it was very uneven and she turned my daughter's hair a brassy yellow that day too. I never went back and that was a year ago. Well, my step daughter is getting married soon and my hair was really in need of a good cut. Thank goodness I found Melissa at Mitchell's! I called to tell the owner and after speaking with him and also sending photos I was told well that's a blister (it most definitely is not). He asked what I wanted him to do about it, typically when a business has done something negative to a customer they will offer X% off their next service or financial reimbursement. The owner was not interested in that. Take this as a warning that although this salon's prices are lower than others you will also be exposing yourself to the possibility of an infection.

I've been going here for almost 3 years and always had a great experience. So I am giving this 3…read morestars based on my most recent experience, not on my over all experiences as a whole. I went in yesterday for a regular manicure. I always get this bc I hate how shellac leaves my nail beds. I did the color bubble bath, and this is a very sheer color which is what I wanted. The lady who did my nails was rushing as they were quite busy and made several errors throughout the process that I brought up to her and she said she was aware and was going to fix it. Well by the time I made it to the nail dryer my nails were a sloppy mess and this was after her "corrections". I had been here at this point for 2 hours so I left unhappy. When I got home, I showed some other people who all agreed and persuaded me to go back for a re do by another technician. So I went in the next day (today) and the new tech was very passive aggressive towards me and almost blaming ME for the way they looked. She said the polish wouldn't cover the whole nail bc of my cuticles, so she pushed my cuticles to make it appear that way. She did no such thing! The only thing she did was actually paint my entire nail which is what I assume is to be done every time? Lol Then she told me in between coats to pull my hands further back from fan, that it can cause uneven coat. Okay did that, then of course I bumped my thumb nail in between coatings which just in my mind made her feel validated for her blaming me for the nails looking bad.... LOL! Okay I'll give you that one! But when she went to re do the nail that was bumped, she got some of the polish on her and I kid you not, she WIPED HER POLISH FROM HER FINGER, OFF ON MY JACKET SLEEVE. I was so shocked I didn't even know what to say. I am so mad for not saying something in the moment but I was truly shocked and speechless and processing what just happened. Then after nails were painted, she reminded me 10x not to touch anything and let them dry for 30 min. So I did, and my nails look 100x better and I'm glad I did a re do but I will not be coming back here after being treated that way. They need to understand people make mistakes and I wasn't being rude when I asked for them to be re done. I tipped and paid for a service I was not happy with and shouldn't be faulted for below average service. I think I will be looking for a new salon sadly.
