This is the corporate headquarters of the U-Haul company. There are no rentals here! I have had a number of U-Hauls throughout the years, moving stuff back and forth between home in Charlotte and home in Arkansas. 1000 mile drives in a box truck worked out okay. More recently, two rentals in the last month, both from the same location in Charlotte North Carolina. One, a pickup truck, I needed to move a trailer and it went okay. A long wait and then a long interaction with a clerk at the counter. The truck was perfectly fine and I returned the pickup two hours later without issue. The second, I got a cargo van and decided to use their "Truck Share" program. Completely touchless! Fill out the online reservation and then when I arrived, the app told me what to do. I found the truck, unlocked the locker with the key in it, filled out the online form (Picture of me, picture of drivers license front and back, credit card) and I was on my way. Four hours later, I returned it after the facility was closed. Again with the app, taking pictures of the odometer, fuel gauge, pictures of the exterior and interior of the truck, then drop the keys in the slot. I love this super automated interaction where I don't have to deal with a slow and possibly surly employee. They've done some good work to develop this and I'll use it again. UHaul Rentals - Return instructions for U-Haul Truck Share - Truck Rental Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

My complaint is with the MOVING INSURANCE company, REPWEST, which is attached to U-Haul. I was urged by UHaul booking reps to purchase the insurance for my move when using their "pod" service. I also was encouraged to select one of their listed movers in both the city I was moving away from (DALLAS) and the one I was moving to (outside of Boston, MA). I followed all advice, and when pieces of my antique furniture arrived severely scratched and broken (two items)--and one item did *not* arrive at all, I filed for insurance coverage in order to repair those damages and replace the broken and missing items. The insurance offered via Uhaul/ RepWest IS WORTHLESS, and their business practices are inefficient and shady. Don't bother purchasing insurance w/ RepWest! Moreover, they wasted my valuable time and energy with their runaround. As they requested, I did the following: - submitted multiple photos of my damaged property as it was being removed, improperly wrapped (or not at all) from the UHaul Pods; - submitted a written description of what was damaged, broken, &lost - submitted a copy of my letter describing the harm to the movers themselves who caused the damage *AND* I submitted said movers' written FULL ACKNOWLEDGEMENT and APOLOGY of the damages and loss!! - I engaged w/ a RepWest insurance agent in several lengthy phonecalls to review FULL details - Agent told me that RepWest could "do nothing" unless and until they were able to ALSO speak w/ the MOVER company. So I contacted the company myself mutliple times and asked them to please confirm w/ RepWest. - I did all of those steps ONLY TO BE TOLD, belatedly, that the POLICY I purchased had a small-print CLAUSE stating it did *NOT* EVEN COVER damages that occurred in the move. - The policy clearly states that it would in fact cover damages & loss of "personal property (cargo) during the loading and unloading process. " YET, the agent (B. Nigro) --as well as the supervisor I appealed my case to (R. McCranner) -- denied my claim, citing a (hidden) "exclusion" that RepWest would NOT COVER "G. Against loss /damage caused by IMPROPER PACKING..." by said mover. These are clearly CONTRADICTORY statements and double-speak explicitly designed to allow the insurance company NOT to pay when damages in fact occur in the process of a UHaul move! My complaint covers three major problems with RepWest and its representatives: 1) this company and its agents wasted my TIME by not citing their hidden clause after my *INITIAL* submission of evidence! Instead two more weeks went by with more requests on their end for me to do more legwork supplying additional evidence that they proceeded to simply disregard; 2) this company and its agents wasted the MONEY I spent on purchasing the policy--it did not fulfill its *stated promise* as cited above to reimburse the customer for LOST, broken, and damaged items incurred in the UHaul moving process; 3) finally, this company makes false claims to provide "moving insurance" for UHaul moves BUT IN FACT IT DOES NOT COVER ANY damages or loss incurred during a UHaul move. I do not normally write reviews and have never written a negative review of a company. But my experience and dissatisfaction with REP WEST has led me to wish to save other people already undergoing the stress and financial strain of a move to SAVE THEIR MONEY and SAVE THEIR TIME; do not bother paying Uhaul/ RepWest for their offer of insurance "coverage" because in the end, there is in fact nothing whatsoever that this insurance company will pay if your property is damaged, lost, or broken during a loading or move w/ Uhaul. read more

First I order u boxes. They never show. Uhaul says they tried calling me but they tried calling me on an old number. Uboxes require you fill out a pre delivery form that ask if there is a safe place to drop boxes and etc. I provided my correct number and never logged into my old account to reserve. So I know they never looked aty number. Then I had to get a truck or I would be late getting to my new job. I recently got a 10 foot truck from Tucson to where I am. When I go to turn the truck in they call the Tucson office and put me on the phone with the Tucson guy, Francisco C. Telling me that they accidently refunded me the 1900 for the truck. I told him I wasn't paying him because I haven't gotten the 1900. He said I had to pay. I told him he can either take me to court or wait for me to get the refund. He then charges my account anyway after I get off the phone with him. I have a friend. Who works for uhaul and multiple uhaul employees have told me for long trips they give you the worst truck possible so if it breaks down it gets fixed faster. Moral of the story is no one should ever trust uhaul or their employees. They are a terrible company with terrible employees that get away with BS because they have the cheapest, low sitting, with ramp trucks. They know it so they will continue to screw people over. Now I am a homeless veteran, with a family of 5, and a banking account with -400 because uhaul has charged me a total of 3300 for one truck that wasnt even worth a quarter of that because it was a POS falling apart read more

I would not give any star at all if that was an option. My kids called 2 months in advance for a rental. At time of pick up the rental was broken and none available anywhere for two days. My kids were moving from Atlanta to Fort Lauderdale. They fell behind 2 days because of this and are out a lot of money due to not being able to meet their deadlines. They have hotel bills and food bills since they could not get to their destination on time. This company has horrible customer service and does nothing to accommodate a customer . read more

BEWARE. U-Haul uses a cut rate insurance company REPWEST to insure their rental vehicles. When a U-Haul driver hit my parked car causing significant damage, RepWest attempted to get me to accept a lowball offer of ONE QUARTER the cost of the damage. After I refused they gradually increased their offer to 60% and then 70% of the damage. Thankfully I have a quality car insurance company (State Farm) who is covering the damage and going after RepWest for the damages (subrogation). I wouldn't rent from them given these poor / unethical business practices. read more

If you want to rent a truck don't use Uhaul if you really need one. They will take your reservation and when you need the truck they won't have one or if your lucky you can drive miles away and maybe find one. Can't count on them to have what you need. RENTER BEWARE! I found out very interesting things about this so called family run business when I tried to rent to relocate my belongings interstate. THEY DON'T CARE AND WILL GIVE AWAY YOUR TRUCK WITHOUT NOTICE OR CONCERN, THEN TRY TO SEND YOU MILES AWAY TO ANOTHER LOCATION OR TELL YOU TOO BAD! THEY DON'T CARE IT'S ALL ABOUT GREED & $$. They pretend they do but they don't! They lie a lot about availability! So do the dealers. They will give away your truck without telling you or calling to tell you they did. Their policy is whoever walks in the door 1st is who gets the rental. If you reserve in advance you are basically screwed because they neither acknowledge or honor reservations! It's a farce! I found this out via a local dealer I had several reservations set up with from May to July. I set up a rental for a van mid May for Memorial Day weekend. A week or so later I was told the van was out of service indefinitely for repairs. I decided to wait & had to cancel my trip. I was mad because it costs me more $$ each time I had to reschedule hotels & the price of gas in the SW part of the country was rising faster than any where else. A month went by still the van was out of commission. I decided to back it up with a reservation with Budget. I decided a few days before my pick up date with Uhaul to cancel. I called them the day of my proposed pick up to find the van was back in service, yet no one bothered to call to offer it to me, knowing full well I had a month long reservation! I was mad then & still am! Budget didn't have vans either because people were keeping them longer than reserved. So they gave me a 12' truck for the price of the van in mid June. I ended up needing it because a storage space opened up, I was able to load up the truck to bring 80% of my belongings from storage from 1 state, back to my new home state. I once again reserved with Uhaul to try get a truck to finalize the move. They were going to charge me well above $1,000 that didn't include the $4+ a gallon gas! I backed myself up with a truck from Budget just in case (again). Seemed like Uhaul was going to come through this time so I canceled Budget. I arranged to get off from work early to go pick up the truck before 5 PM to leave early the next AM to avoid traffic. Uhaul, tacky as they are from Las Vegas called @ 3:30 PM to tell me there were no 15' trucks & I would have to drive 15 miles to a location I wasn't familiar with in a town I didn't know! They weren't willing to work any deals especially on the $0.99 per mile cost they were adding to my 836 mile trip! I was really angry & demanded a manager. All the good it did, she was very nasty (typical Las Vegas people, very low class & unprofessional). She screamed that she wasn't making any deals with me & if I wanted the truck let them know. I told her to shove it! I called Budget at 4 PM & picked up the truck by 5 PM that day. I told the guy what happened with Uhaul. He gave it to me for 1/2 of what they were attempting to charge me! Ended up costing me far less when I returned it. Once again Budget saved the day. Hotels by then were running $200+ a night. I decided to do a round trip drive to & from which was 20 hours of driving alone but I got it done with Budget! I complained to Uhaul's corporate office. Daniel pretended to care & acted as though talking to Steve the manager of the call center in Las Vegas was going to change something because Cecelia the manager, yelled at me. It didn't do a thing nor resolve the problem! Steve is so unprofessional he never read the complaint before he called or he would've known I was moving that day! I tried to call him back when I was on the road but the person who answered the phone lacked any real intellect & Steve didn't document the account that he'd tried to call. The woman kept trying to educate me on who I was calling. I hung up on her because I don't have time to deal with stupidity. Steve & I eventually connected but it didn't go well. He gave me a lousy $50 for the inconvenience of giving away numerous trucks & a van for 2 months! He delayed my move by 2 months, cost me more $$ in hotels, rising gas prices & all he gave me was a lousy $50! I contacted the Better Business Bureau for all the good that did. Their corp. contact just blew me off & could've cared less too, claiming Steve "handled it" which he didn't. Hence the reason I went to the BBB! I added another unresolved BBB complaint to their rep & am adding a bad review here along with the many they have. They're horrible! I gave a negative review to the dealer who never bothered to try to make it right. Their regional said they have no control over trucks, Uhaul does as it pleases & they're left holding the bag with angry customers. I told them to switch to Budget or Penske. They said they're hard to get in with for good reason! They don't just let anyone become a dealer! DON'T USE UHAUL!!!! They suck!!!! read more

DO NOT MAKE A RESERVATION WITH UHAUL. They do not fulfill their reservations. We made a reservation one month ago for two 20' foot trucks and a car trailer to take from Arizona to Michigan in two days. They just called and said they do not have any availability. That's it. No trucks. According to other truck rentals, Uhaul hasn't had trucks in Arizona for over a month, yet they still took reservations! UNBELIEVABLE! read more

I have been with U-Haul for many years now and they just doubled my rate on my storage box use someone else besides U-Haul they suck
