Bought a scanner (on-line) from the bookstore. Right away was suspicious as the cable was no in it's original packaging. Scanner Did Not Work! Download the latest software (so that wasn't the problem. Error message indicated USB cable not connected. But it was. Just kinda nice to know ahead of time that you will be putting out $19.00 for a new cable. Buyers BeWare.

I watched when they finished construction of the Price Center and the UCSD Bookstore. I visited early in morning when it was quiet and occasionally shrouded in fog. I loved those eerie mornings you couldn't see the treetops. I purchased my first Mac SE from the UCSD Bookstore. Apple was the first company to make computers with a graphical user interface and a mouse. I would come by every few months and grab an educational price list to see how much more I needed to save before my big purchase. When that day came I hurried home and started installing software from floppy disks. I never see those disks around anymore. I still have that sense of excitement when I buy a new computer. I returned to the UCSD Bookstore and purchased a Mac Quadra 610 which was the first computer with an optional card with an Intel cpu that allowed it to also run Microsoft Dos. Next I bought a Power Macintosh G3 which was the first tower computer with pastel colors. The Power Mac G4 Cube was the coolest looking computer I've owned. Reminds me of the Borg Cube. The Mac mini was the smallest desktop computer I've owned. My 2008 MacBook Pro was the first laptop computer to be made from a single piece of aluminum. There is a detailed article of the CNC process on Appleinsider:https://appleinsider.com/articles/08/10/14/apple_details_new_macbook_manufacturing_process UCSD Bookstore has been my favorite spot to buy my computers as they have an educational discount making it typically the cheapest place to buy a Mac. They have a back to school sale where in the the past an iPod on Beats were given with a Mac purchase. Also they have a twice a year no sales tax sale. I was here when the Bookstore occupied both floors of the space with the side entrance occupied by the Sunshine Store. In recent years Amazon has taken over that area and where the computers were. Now they are remodeling and Target is taking over the 2nd floor. I miss those early days when this place was filled with books and the old timer computer guys that could help me with my Sun Sparc problems or replace parts in my Mac. The UCSD Bookstore is becoming more corporate. I miss seeing the fog roll in hiding the treetops.

With a coffee shop at the bottom floor that offers studying and socializing areas and a top floor that has nothing but UCSD swag (everything from pencils to shirts to home decor), it's a pretty cool place to shop. Oh yeah, school books are on the middle floor, but who really needs those?!? ;p

I am going to try and repair the poor Yelp rating for this vilified UC Bookstore. I am grateful to them for employing my teen son this summer. That alone is worth 5 Stars to me! However, I remember being shocked at some of the textbook prices here when I was a student in another era. But daddy was paying for that obscure European press text on Hitler's War Machine so I just grinned and bear-ed it. Now I can say that it is a very professionally run and complete Bookstore and so much more. Books of every make and model-both for UC classes, extension courses and general edification of the brain. An impressive array or computers and lap tops for sale. A section of medical scrubs and clothing for the UCSD Medical School students-and those of us who wish to be Doctors or Nurses for Halloween! The second floor of the Bookstore is Merchandise Central! A great clothing department filled with UCSD hats, hoodies, and T-shirts to impress the opposite sex with the size of your....cerebral cortex! The gift shop and school supplies are here also. The Bookstore offers free delivery to many locations and a re-chargable gift card that allows generous patrons and family members to help pay for those 10 lb. REQUIRED textbooks! Employee offices, break rooms and such cover the 3rd floor. Here is another personal reason I would like to try and rectify the Yelp rating of UCSD Bookstore. They offer small-press or self-published independent authors a small foothold in the door. You can request a Book-signing or other promotional activity during their Quarterly Events. Now this is crucial to me since I am in the process of writing a book that I hope will Change-The_World! I hope to use my connections- my son's employment status and my alumni credentials to solicit my transformation OEUVRE here on campus! So I do hope that the many reading these words will OVERLOOK the high price of textbooks, the dire lack of convenient parking, the smart Asians who are always in the classes you need to graduate and affect the grade curve! Also the fact that there really aren't many HOT guys and girls here because mostly smart people don't care about their looks that much. I have never been accused of shop-lifting mainly because one of the 10 COMMANDMENTS is Not to steal and I would be afraid of dis-pleasing God- and not so much the undercover security guards! Yes-5 STARS for keeping my beloved son gainfully employed and off his computer games for the summer! 5 Stars for UCSD Bookstore one day holding MY VERY OWN Book-Signing Event and acting graciously towards offbeat writers such as myself and offering us hope that we can one day be as big a draw as Sam the Cooking Guy is over at Cost Co!

First week of school sale! If you need anything - GO! (also, summer and end of quarter sales are usually the biggest sale).

Can't go wrong coming here when we are in San Diego. You can't really take your time in each store…read moresince the parking is unfortunately timed. I believe the gym and the AMC movie theatre helps extend your parking validation from the first free 2 hours, but just note it's an hour more. If you pass it, you pay minimum $3. My boyfriend and I enjoyed several activities this outdoor mall had to offer. The movie theatre is cozy and convenient. The indoor ice rink is available to be viewed in the food court. Ice skating there was fun too! Very dog-friendly with lots of dogs strolling around! There's a mini dog park too, which is very nice. Pretty high-end stores here and lots of additional upscale stores are coming soon to expand the mall even further. I kinda wish there was more restaurants but I doubt they validate. In summary, it's not a bad way to spend your time in La Jolla!

Apocalyptically awful parking lot!…read more This parking lot is a chaotic, soul-crushing labyrinth that may very well be the single worst design I've encountered in my 79 long, well-traveled years on this planet. Upon entering, you're handed a cheerful little ticket promising a free first hour--how generous! What they don't tell you is that you'll spend roughly two-thirds of that hour trapped in a slow-moving purgatory just trying to escape. You've got about 20 blissful minutes to enjoy yourself before trying to join the line of cars that moves slower than a sloth on melatonin. I genuinely cannot tell if the exit gates are malfunctioning, cursed, or if the drivers ahead of me were participating in some sort of cognitive endurance experiment. Multiple cars took a baffling 4-5 minutes each at the gate--an interaction that should take about 10 seconds unless you're attempting to solve a Rubik's cube while blindfolded. By the time I escaped, I had aged another decade. I will absolutely never return to this parking lot. Bring a helicopter. Hope this helps.

Suede... lined with shearling, with more shearling on the cuffs and collar. Designed by Mother, $450. I wanted to take it home with me. Then I checked the label... 100% polyester. Anthropologie, what on earth are you doing selling an almost $500 after taxes jacket that's made of plastic??? I walked around and so many things were a similar circumstance. Who is curating these stores?? People don't come into Anthropologie to buy trash bags and get a headache and burning lungs from air freshener or whatever it is they pump into the air. Bring back the integrity of the store. Otherwise, you're just a severely overpriced SHEIN, Temu, Amazon. The girls who worn here are always nice though, not their fault corporate is ruining the brand.

I was at Westfield University Town Center (UTC) and happened to see Anthropologie so I had to come in here to find out. Well, it's basically a clothing store with some knick knacks of decor and household goods. I find the clothing designs to be ultra hip. It's not quite my clothing style, but I can see how it gives a slick and smooth appeal. Love the colors! I spent some time perusing the perimeter. I normally don't look at the staff unless I have to ask them a question. Funny, I found myself being looked at LOL. Maybe the wardrobe I was wearing at the time speaks its own style and uniqueness that didn't fit with Anthropologie's brand. It's all good. I don't take offense. They can look all they want. Anyway, I didn't buy anything, but it was a nice stroll through the store though.
