Being an cycling addict reminiscing of the good old days... let's start with inventory it's all high end and curated to the ride. To be honest most of the components I would have handpicked myself. Nothing is invincible at a certain point but hands down fox factory lasts for years. The shop utilizes a compact showroom design with a space off the side for mechanics. Despite the compact showroom they have everything from high end mountain bikes to high end road/gravel bikes to high end e-bikes(mtb/road/comfort & hybrid). Bikes for all ages, sizes and riders! They have high quality apparel and protectives as well as decent discount on some inventory too. Nutrition and maintenance needs. The shop staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and engaging. By the engagement and tidiness of the shop, I can tell they have a deep understanding of rider needs and the equipment associated with cycling, competitive and recreational. Being a busy shop I'd expect turnaround times to be fair/moderate on repairs/upgrade/maintenance. I didn't take too much of a look at the service board but I would expect price point is going to be higher, from the shop overhead/location, but judging from the mix of bikes/gear and the knowledge/experience of the employees, I'd say that the mechanics side would meet or exceed my standards (which are pretty high) when it comes to care and attention to detail. Had the opportunity to talk shortly with the owner Dave, he is humble and very personable, a good guy with years of experience in the sport, notices how the small things play a big role in the ride. This is a great stop especially if your a dedicated cyclist. Not to mention close to local freeway and shopping centers.

Trevor and this shop is the best. I walked in looking to test ride a Roubaix. After five test rides later I was able to confidently purchase my bike. Ended up with an Aethos and couldn't be happier. I spent close to 3 hrs within two visits speaking with Trevor and the rest of the team. Everything was fully explained: benefits, needs, expectations, options, and even level advice. They answered every question I had with respect and pure enjoyment for bikes. Helpful when I feel amateur in technical-savvy information. Truly recommend this shop. You'll be taken care of.

Since REI is located in an industrial street, there are many parking spots available for this building and the main building. My husband and I took our snowboards to get waxed. This time around, we opted to pay for the hot wax as opposed to their free machine wax. The hot wax is usually $36 each but they were having a promo that it's half off until March. We went on a Saturday mid-afternoon and it took only about 20 minutes. I also wanted to buy some new boots and I put my name down on the sign up sheet on the clipboard. I was the next one in line and thought the wait wouldn't be too long but I still ended up waiting about 30 minutes to be seen. It seemed there was only one guy dedicated to the boot fitting area. After a while, I ended up approaching another worker and thankfully he said he was able to help me out. *Tip if you're going for boot fitting: put your name down on the list but also just ask anyone with a green vest to see if they can help you out so you don't end up unnecessarily waiting a while. I'd like to give Mike a huge shoutout for helping me find the right boots! He was so personable and he took the time to explain what I should feel. He suggested I put insoles in my boots because I have flatter feet and it made a whole difference, so I really appreciate that. Overall, we had a great experience and received wonderful customer experience between getting our boards waxed, fitting for my new boots, and checking out.

31-Jan-2026…read more Outstanding Service and Expert Care for My Son's Foot Pain!! I brought my 9-year-old son to Road Runner Sports after he started experiencing plantar fasciitis pain in both heels following basketball practice. Instead of just grabbing generic basketball shoes, we decided to get him properly fitted--and I'm so glad we did. From the moment we walked in, Chaz greeted us warmly and immediately connected us with Alyssa, who turned out to be an absolute gem. She spent over an hour with us, never once making us feel rushed, and conducted a comprehensive foot assessment to understand exactly what was going on. Alyssa went above and beyond to ensure my son felt comfortable throughout the entire process. She listened carefully to all of his concerns, explained everything in a way he could understand, and made what could have been an overwhelming experience actually enjoyable for him. The thorough analysis revealed that pronation was contributing to his issues, so we left with a perfectly fitted pair of Brooks running shoes and custom insoles specifically designed to correct his gait. The difference has been remarkable--no more complaints about heel pain, and he's back to playing the sport he loves without discomfort. If you're dealing with foot pain or just want expert fitting service, especially for young athletes, I can't recommend Road Runner Sports highly enough. Alyssa's dedication and expertise made all the difference for our family. This is now our go-to spot for anything running-related!

Upon arrival customers check in and are free to browse through the store while waiting to for a sales person to be assigned to them. In my case it was a 35 minute wait and I decided to return the shoes that I purchased in Carlsbad during that time. It was a long, slow moving line and at one point a woman got at the end of the line and an eager sales person winked her to the front of the line with her 3 pairs of shoes, then turned around and told the people who were being skipped that she was sorry. Later I asked about that and was told that it the sales person had no business operating independently of the line. I love the special attention given by the sales team, the quality of the products and the diverse offerings. i will be back soon!

I'd recommend parking near Corner Bakery since there's usually less traffic in that area. This is a pretty new place that I hadn't heard of before, I only walked in because they had incredible deals. They were offering 50% off literally everything. I'm not sure if it was due to a grand opening, but the prices were honestly a steal for athletic wear. Most of their items are activewear, but they also carry a lot of apparel geared toward doctors and nurses, including scrubs, which I thought was really cool. I ended up getting a zip-up jacket, a couple pairs of socks, and a sports bra. Everything felt super soft, and I really loved the quality for the price. Overall, it was a great value, especially with the discount. The service itself was definitely top-tier, the staff was super nice, respectful, and always available to help. One thing to note is that they are very pushy about signing up for the Fabletics app and membership. I was asked by almost every employee while shopping. I understand it's part of their policy, but it was a bit annoying, so just be aware of that. Aside from that, the staff was very friendly, and I'd definitely recommend checking out their items if you're shopping at UTC La Jolla.
