They broke my son's xBox. They left it unusable. We dropped off an xBox in perfect condition just for a cleaning. It was only 2 years old. First we were told it'd take only 2-3 days but it turns out they sent it to the Richmond location without telling us. They also sent it saying there was something wrong, instead of specifying it just needed a cleaning. After several days and several calls, we got an xBox back with no power in the USB's. Another place told us it had such a bad short that it was unfixable. When I talked to someone at the Richmond location, the guy got defensive and was totally unhelpful, not mentioning any kind of warranty. Someone else at the Kirby location was much more professional and issued a refund ($89 for a simple cleaning!) and offered to look it over, but needless to say, I had no trust left in them. Let me add too that we got the xBox back without its original base: they had forgotten to screw it back on! Forget this place. read more

My laptop screen was starting to fall out of the casing so I dropped it off to have uBreakiFix repair it. When I walked in there was one person behind the counter helping a woman drop off her computer. Since only one person was working and the woman was having trouble remembering her password it took about fifteen minutes before I was able to speak with the employee behind the counter. He said they would call me the next day to explain what the repair and the cost would be. Three days passed without contact so I called in to get an update. The man on the phone explained what was going on and quoted me to perform the repair. I gave him the go-ahead and after about three more days I received a call back saying they would not be able to finish my repair. On the bright side, they did not charge me, which is how it should be since nothing was repaired, but on the downside my computer was in much worse shape when I picked it up than it was when I dropped it off. When I dropped it off the screen was starting to come apart but still opened and was usable. When I picked it up the laptop screen was disassembled with wires protruding to the point where the only thing keeping the screen connected to the laptop was a few wires, and while it turned on it is nearly unusable and I am surprised it even turns on. To say I am disappointed with the outcome of my "repair" is an understatement. The staff I dealt with were all very kind but when you take your laptop to someone who allegedly specializes in electronic repairs, no one wants to receive back the same laptop in much worse condition. read more

Samsung sent me to them to have my Flip 4 phone case replaced. They said it would be 4 hours. six trips late, now my motherboard and speaker on the top is damaged. They tell everyone that comes in it will take four hours. If 8 hours is a work day, and their were two or three techs onsite, no way they can really take the time to fix your phone correctly. On top of all the people that leaves there phone at the store. NOTE: most of their business is from Asurion claim insurance. Wish I had the experience of some of the other users here. I made an appointment online to drop off my phone for a battery replacement before going to the store. When I arrived--despite already giving my details online I still had to wait over 10 minutes for them to set up a work order for my phone. During this time the tech forgot why I came to get my phone repaired and what car I had and had to ask me multiple times. Despite being told that "they weren't working on any other devices right now," they were still unable to give me an estimate for how long my battery replacement would take. Even when the tech went inside to speak to their manager, he didn't have an answer. Just, "I don't know, probably before we close." When I showed up at 6:50pm, they said my phone was "ready" and would be right out. I finally got my phone (at 12% battery) with at 7:20 with the battery at 12% after watching various employees shuffle. The explanation I got for the wait was due to some diagnostic test repeatedly "crashing" and them eventually giving up--which I guess took 30 minutes to do. Could have just told me what was going on I could have saved an extra half hour. If I had the tools, I could have done it myself in an hour and a half. I wish I had. The level of unprofessionalism worries me about what they might have done with my phone--potentially rifling through sensitive photos and social media accounts--while they had it. read more

I dropped my phone with a broken screen at ubreakifix in Tulsa, Ok. They told me it would be 3-4 hours, as it was a busy day. (I had already called 2 days earlier to confirm they had the part in stock.) So I wasted 4 hours waiting to get my phone back. When I returned, they had done NOTHING to repair my phone and said they wouldn't fix it. They said it didn't pass one of their "tests". DUH! It had a broken screen and possible damage to the front facing camera. That's why I took it for repair! I ended up calling Samsung and getting a referral to a different repair shop. I will NEVER recommend ubreakifix and will share my story with anyone asking. I should have checked reviews before going there, because they are TERRIBLE, just like the business. Took my iPhone in to get my screen fixed after it had been cracked for quite a while. I came around noon on a Tuesday. The store is curbside during the pandemic. You call the store when you arrive, they take your information, they come get your phone and you get an estimated time for repair. I went home and about an hour later we were notified my screen was fixed. The staff was very friendly, when Travis approached my car he had a mask and gloves on. $99 for a iPhone 8 screen repair I thought was very fair. To say I am dissatisfied is an understatement. The more accurate descriptor is FURIOUS. I took my phone in to get the battery replaced. The part needed to be ordered which I didn't mind. However, after TWO WEEKS of radio silence I had to call in and ask if the part had arrived. The employee who answered was very unconcerned that they'd had my new battery for at least a week but NEVER bothered to reach out & let me know. When I suggested he might want to mention it to whoever was in charge of notifying/updating clients he was dismissive, borderline rude, and hung up very abruptly. Despite his poor customer service, I took my phone in anyways. The repair itself took roughly 3 hours from the time I dropped my phone off to when I received an email that it was ready to pick up. Perfectly reasonable. They completed the repair and replaced the battery just fine. BUT, my phone now has screen bleed, coloring the entire thing purple - and it's getting progressively worse. Screen bleed was not an issue before I brought it to them. In replacing my phone's battery, they created a whole new problem in need of repair. When I asked for an explanation, the associate, after acknowledging he hadn't made the repair and so couldn't be sure, explained that my old battery had swollen and put pressure on the LCD which caused the bleeding. So, the old battery caused the bleeding but the bleeding only happened AFTER they put in the new battery? Really? Are you sure you just don't want to admit the tech who replaced the battery cracked the LCD and that's what caused the bleeding? But, hey, they want to claim the old battery caused the problem. Fine. If that's what they want to go with then I can understand paying something for this new and previously unnecessary service. What I find unacceptable if this is the claim they want to make, is that the first price they quoted me was the FULL PRICE of $119 for a screen replacement. Only when I expressed my frustration did they offer a discount...of $20. So now they expect me to pay $99 for a repair I WOULDN'T NEED BUT FOR THEIR ACTIONS. To add insult to injury, their stellar customer service prevailed when the manager didn't bother to come out and explain the situation or address the fact they royally fucked up my phone or offer a solution. I could, however, hear him in the back when the associate (who truly was very polite and professional in the face of my obvious irritation) went to ask him about a potential discount. The manager wasn't unaware or unavailable. He just couldn't be bothered. So, now I am expected to ultimately pay $170. I could have gone on eBay & bought a brand new phone for the exact same price or half the price for a refurbished one. I will not be using their service ever again for any of my devices. read more

He asked me to explain what was the problem, I said there was paper jammed and I had tried everything to get it out. Jose R patiently open the printer and looked at it. The gentleman who greeted me was polite and very thorough in his explanation of cost, time to repair and what I would expect afterward. I dropped my phone off today to get my screen fixed and requested to have the charging port replaced as I had issues with it. The technician checked availability of parts, provided an estimate of cost and gave me a time frame of repair. I received a call a lot sooner than expected with the technician stating my screen was fixed and the charging port didn't need to be replaced but just thoroughly cleaned. They could have simply taken my money and replaced it. I truly appreciate their honesty and their commitment to customer service. My ThinkPad laptop's screen was completely dead, so I took it over to the Kirby uBreakiFix. This was on a weekday. Their service is curbside, due to COVID, and so tech came out to my car to pick up the laptop from me and get my info. They gave an estimated time when it would be ready, so I headed home. My laptop was actually ready well prior to that estimated time: I got it back the same day. The screen problem didn't seem too difficult to fix, and their charge was quite reasonable. That made me very happy (as I have definitely had negative experiences with other computer repair shops). I have used them twice now for different devices, and they do a good, timely job. I don't have to worry about handing over my very important laptop to get a critical problem resolved. I would definitely recommend uBreakiFix. read more

I took my Ipad Pro to UbreakiFix on Kirby Dr., in Houston, with a screen touch function not working. They called me a few days later and said I needed a new screen and the repair bill would be just under $400, which is cheaper than Apple or Microcenter, so I said OK. Then, when they got the new screen, they called and said when the got the old screen off they found it was just unplugged, they plugged it back in and it works fine so they would not need to replace the screen and the repairs would only cost $99. They repaired it and it is working fine. I am so impressed. They could have replaced the screen and I would have never known it was just unplugged. So, honesty is not dead! Bravo UbreakiFix!
