Disappointing Service and Unreasonable Policies at Phone Repair Doctors I recently had an extremely frustrating experience with Phone Repair Doctors that I feel compelled to share. My phone's screen broke, and I contacted them for a repair. What I expected to be a straightforward process turned into a complete nightmare. Firstly, their customer service was far from helpful. I initially messaged them at 9:29 AM on 12/5/23, and they responded at 3 PM on 12/6/23. A staff member mentioned that they hadn't received a photo of the phone model, which I realized I had forgotten to send. After sending the photo, I was quoted a price of $120 in cash or $129.90 if paid via Zelle. I argued that paying by Zelle is akin to cash since there are no transaction fees, but the staff member countered, saying the company would have to pay taxes on money received through Zelle - a statement that alarmed me. However, the real issue arose when the agreed-upon time for repair, 3 PM, arrived, and both parties, Ashton (their technician) and my sister, were late. Ashton called several times to ensure my sister would be there. When she arrived, Ashton, waiting outside his car, said he needed the $120 upfront. He seemed to think I wasn't okay with paying the entire amount before the repair. I told my sister over the phone to pay him $60 upfront as a gesture of good faith and the remaining $60 upon completion of the repair. Meanwhile, Ashton started getting into his car to leave. Despite my sister's attempt to flag him down, he drove away and texted me that he had other appointments. Repeated calls and texts from me were ignored or unanswered. Their inflexible policy (not mentioned in writing on their website) prevented me from getting my phone repaired. It wasn't just the demand for upfront payment that disappointed me, but also the overall lack of empathy and customer support. Furthermore, the insistence on cash payment to presumably evade taxes was deeply concerning. I refuse to do business with unethical companies and feel obligated to share this experience. I hope this review helps others considering Phone Repair Doctors for their repair needs. This man did such a poor job that the back of our phone broke not even a week later. He called us liars (using expletives) and said that we never used his business even though we've sent him multiple screenshots of messages HE SENT US and were there less than a week ago. Clearly this man is too disorganized to do our repair and, likely, yours His warranty also states that he will repair work he has done within 30 days. HOWEVER, their "warranty" states: "We are responsible for the part we replaced in the device as long as there is no physical damage to the parts up to 30 days. Any physical and liquid damage device will not be covered by a warranty." Can anyone explain what other type of damage there can be to a phone, other than "physical and liquid"?
