Fix your Gadget really went the extra mile in fixing my girlfriend's keyboard on her Macbook Air. They diagnosed that the keyboard had been corroded, and drove across town to find a full replacement keyboard for us (rather than having it shipped) since we were leaving town in a couple days. My 17 year old son had his iPhone 7 crushed badly enough that it was actually bent at the bottom end, and the screen was shattered. The phone would power on and be recognized by iTunes but there was no way to input the passcode in order to start a backup. AppleCare would replace the phone but a backup had not been done since December so all of his photos and contacts would be lost. My husband and I are both fairly tech-savvy and we searched for PC emulation software that could do this for us, but nothing out there actually allows you to input the code remotely. Of course Geniuses said we were SOL. Two calls to data recovery firms resulted in quotes of anywhere from $400 for a partial recovery with likelihood of it being closer to the top end of $1900, even though I made it clear that it was for a 17 year old's photos and contacts (i.e., no sensitive corporate information). My husband works downtown and passes this place in the tunnels, so he brought it in after being quoted $50. Photos and an iTunes backup were put on a USB drive and ended up being $70 plus tax, including the cost of the drive. More than worth it, and we've already recommended them to our friends! read more

My managers phone was not working at all. I work downtown and took the tunnel system to their shop, upon arrival I was greeted by Lori, she was so welcoming and very attentive. She informed me the wait was about an 1.5 hrs, I had such a long walk to come back and pick it up, and an appointment on the other side of town I was worried I wouldn't make it in time. The touchscreen on my LG G6 stopped working and after performing a soft reset I could no longer even access my phone as I could not enter my PIN. Called Fix UR Gadget and they told me they could look at it. Since I work in downtown I walked over to the shop. Carlos greeted me and after trying a few things he determined that the phone's digitizer was probably the main culprit. Carlos was very clear that they would have to wait for a part and that the phone would not be fixed until the next day. I had no problem with that. Sure enough, Fix UR Gadget called me the next day once they had fixed my phone. These guys are real pros. read more

I took my iPhone 6 here to replace the lens on the back of it because it had fallen off. Lesson learned, my phone needed to be in a case. This store was at least 20% more expensive than the other places I contacted but I still brought it here for the convenience factor because this store was located in the tunnels. After they initially replaced the lens, I picked up my phone took it back to my office and discovered the lens/camera was hazy and had black spots that it did not have before. I called and was asked to bring it back in. After I did, the black spots got better but were never went fully away. After that, within a few days the camera lens cover they replaced became unsecure. It would regularly rattle, spin, etc. Obviously that is not supposed to happen. I never dropped my phone, etc. again so this simply happened because of a poor repair job. I have also kept my phone in a good case that protected the lens from this point forward. Today, when I was going to trade in my iPhone 6 for an iPhone 7, I discovered that the lens has fallen off. I called Fix Ur Gadget and let them know the phone has never been dropped and it was never installed properly. Rather than offer to fix it, their response was that it has been too long since the repair and I would have to pay for it again. I understand if a screen cracks multiple times, its not a cell phone repair store's job to warrant my behavior or conduct. However, the back lens should not pop off--especially if the phone has not been dropped and been within a sturdy case. Incredibly disappointed. You pay a premium expecting premium service and workmanship. I got neither. Now I have to spend even more money to fix something that should have been fixed correctly the first time. read more

I hate to be "that guy" but... I had a cracked screen on my Apple Watch, I had seen Fix UR Gadget in the tunnels so I thought I'd give them a try... I looked at the reviews, gave them a call and walked over from my office. My phone is a generation 1 so a new screen needed to be ordered. I was able to pick my watch up the following day. Fast forward about two weeks and I notice my watch was dimmer and as I began to touch the screen was loose. The screen appeared to need better adhesive because the screen was off of the face of the watch. I took my watch back to Fix UR Gadget and after analysis I was told there was corrosion on the interior mechanism of my watch that they don't repair. The corrosion was believed to be caused by moisture.... so the screen was replaced but not secured properly and moisture apparently got inside of the watch and now it's on me??? I have had many iPhones they're fixed in the past but yesterday I went in there there was a lady behind the counter that was very rude, she tried to charge me (190$) more than the price that was quoted on the website (160$) and even after I had told her that I had things repaired there in the past for a much cheaper price ($140 by Daniel) she argued with me and basically said that wasn't true, but "I guess we can do it for you for 160$" - Excuse me? That's what the website quotes, but that's for the "favor" but I think I'll go somewhere else. Here is a tip guys! When a repeat customer returns for a service it is usually not the best idea to try and take advantage of them, be rude, and act like the were interrupting you from doing nothing! (the place was empty) Out of principle I left, and discovered (in the parking lot) with a Google search that APPLE does the same repair for 130$... With an appointment of course. I won't be back - by the way, Genius Bar informed me that if screens are repaired by a third party it voids the Apple warranty. My phone was JUST out of warranty so this didn't matter, but having it done be the "Pro's" for WAY less was a no brainier. read more

Fix UR Gadget went above and beyond. I took in a Samsung phone and paid half the service so Daniel could order the part. When the part came in the next available day, I couldn't leave my desk to walk through the tunnels to their store. As a courtesy, Tori went out of her way to meet me at my office building. (Don't expect this service, but what a nice thing to do!) I paid the other half upon pick-up.
