Couldn't help me with 2 issues 1. deleting everything from my iPhone since it was locked the only way to fix this was erasing/resetting everything 2. with my laptop that was the screen stuck showing the apple logo. The laptop I understand it could be difficult to fix but the iPhone... that is something I have done myself before with my apple laptop but since it is not functioning I couldn't do that thats why I came to this place, but they were no help also ...it took them 2 days and at the end nothing was fixed. "Now, I have a phone that is in worse condition than when I brought it into the store, and have to buy a new one." I purchased a Desktop Computer and phone screen repair at the Houston Heights location. I brought my phone with a cracked screen for Patricia Maddux - the owner, to repair yesterday, 10/17/18. My phone functioned great, I was just tired of looking at the cracks in my screen. I was able to make calls, texts, and use apps simultaneously during and not during charging. She was friendly, and glad to do it. When I returned, to retrieve my phone, there was a new screen on it. It looked good. When I took the phone home and plugged it up to be charged, I noticed it would not stay on. I decided to let it charge to full capacity before reusing it. The phone never went past a 3 percent charge, and would not stay on, even while plugged in. I took the phone back to Patricia. I remained in the store for an hour and a half awaiting the repair. She insisted my phone had an old battery, and that she would switch it out with a new one. That did not mend the issue. Ultimately she put the old, cracked screen, back on the phone, and refunded my money. The phone continued to shut off and maintain the same issue, even after changing the screen back to the original. I asked Patricia if something happened during the repair that caused this issue. I explained to her that I have never had this problem with my phone until I gave it to her. Patricia became defensive and raised her voice a bit and told me. "I didn't butcher your phone, I don't know what's going on with it. I don't know if you had that issue before, but I do this all the time and that has never happened before," she went on to insinuate the issue was likely my fault, and there was no possible way she caused the damage. I continued to explain to her that my phone functioned well, prior to my visit. She maintained a hostile, non apologetic attitude. Nonetheless, I received my refund and carried on. I did not like the way she treated me, with 0 integrity, especially because I still purchased the desktop from her location. Now, I have a phone that is in worse condition than when I brought it into the store, and have to buy a new one. I just wish she would have at least been more apologetic and provide customer service. She made me feel inferior, and as though I was a liar. Now, I'm without a phone. It would have been nice if she could have provided me another iPhone at a discounted price, but she offered me one at full price. read more

They fixed my screen the first time, left dust particles under the new screen. Went back for them to replace it and they did not call us with an update for weeks. We went to check on the status of the repair and they said they were out of stock and would call us when it was ready. They never did so we returned on a Saturday and they said they were still waiting. My husband said if it wasn't fixed by Monday he wanted a full refund and his iPad in return. They had already broken the screen again to "replace it". By Monday it was fixed. We got home and the iPad no longer worked. We called and got a refund. We had high hopes for this place. Poor customer service and very disappointing. read more

I like the people at Experimac Heights and I support small, local businesses. My issue is that they don't return calls or reply to email inquires. Also, their website is somewhat misleading being that they advertise a product at a certain price but then they tell you it's not available or it's a higher price than what the website shows. They could do a better job of updating their website with current availability and prices. read more

Excellent people and service at Houston Heights! I described the problem with my iMac which I was trying to upgrade, and they knew exactly what to do. I never felt pressured into anything. It was December 24th, 2021. And it was even ready that same day! Merry Christmas! That morning, I first went to an "authorized Apple service center" where they actually told me they cannot "upgrade anything" because my mac model already had the maximum factory-allowed components and they are prohibited from upgrading to anything not pre-installed. I know, I was scratching my head, too. Anyway, I found my new Apple experts and will be taking all my Apple products to this location from now on for sure. read more

If I could give Experimax 10 stars I would. They were friendly, welcoming, and upfront about the price and the process of fixing my computer. They were extremely reasonably priced and the timeframe it took them to repair my computer was unmatched. I called at least 6 different places to fix the cracked screen on my MacBook Pro and most places were at least $75 to $150 more expensive and the timeframe was at least a week for the repair. I did a lot of research before choosing Experimac in the Heights. They are a family owned business. I was greeted by Patricia and later her husband. They were professional, but warm and friendly. I like it when the owner's have skin in the game and are present in the business. They walked me through the assessment process and gave me an estimate. My MacBook Pro was purchased in 2010 and has the largest screen made. I love it. It had gotten very slow. They pumped up the memory, added a solid state drive and I'm driving a starship. Thank you Austin for being patient and informative with be. He even ran software to clean up my machine of garbage that a certain search engine had allowed to make a home in my Mac. I had originally gone to a different person to fix my laptop, and he had it for about 3 weeks and told me I was going to have to spend so much money to retrieve my data and replace my hard drive, and that it would be at least another week or two. I got my laptop back and took it to Experimac, and they fixed everything in a day. It turned out it wasn't the hard drive, and it was instead a cable. They made sure I understood every step of the process. Patricia and Grace were great at being very clear of what would happen, how it would happen, and keeping me updated on everything. The team at Experimac are FANTASTIC. My daughter split lemonade on my MacBook Air, which then shutoff immediately after. It was a Saturday night, and I had no way of having anyone look at it at that point. I took my laptop to two different vendors on Sunday, I was told by both that my laptop was toast, and I should just buy a new computer. On Monday, I went into Experimac, and they took over. They were able to replace all the wires on the logic board that had been fried by the lemonade. Once fixed, they ran hardware test, and poof, my computer is back to new and ready to use. Patricia and Austin, were wonderful, professional, and patient. I can't say enough great things about this place. If you ever have an issue with an Apple product, please see them first. read more
