    House Guac

Our flight was delayed and we were tired. This bar/restaurant is right by the gate entrance. It was busy but the staff were rude. We felt pushed to order or leave and the staff frequently were found speaking in another language about the guests. We ordered the Guac & chips. The guacamole was average and the chips were average as well. It was not a good experience.

A little pricey, 17$ for eggs, bacon and potatoes but it looks good! And right near our terminal, a good place to sit and relax

I don't expect a ton from airport restaurants, but even against those, U Street Pub falls short. Service was adequate. Everyone working there seemed a little annoyed to be there, but they were reasonably attentive. Food was very lackluster. My chicken pesto sandwich was incredibly flavorless. Kettle chips were fine. For the price, unsatisfactory.

I got the turkey sandwich was good but super plain. I always come here for a glass of wine before a flight out of dca. I like it here! Friendly staff and usually a good atmosphere to sit and do some work or have a glass of wine pre flight.

Nice charcuterie plate at this spot in the airport. Wish there had been some mustard and maybe some different meat besides the ham and turkey. But overall, it was filling and a good deal:)

The bartenders are friendly, the service was fast. The Red Rock Merlot is expensive ($16/glass), but very well balanced. I was disappointed with their menu when it came to cocktails, so I switched gears and went for a wine instead. The wine is fruit forward on the nose, smooth, with a hint of acidity on the finish. Overall, I'm happy with the choice.

Service was efficient as always. I love stopping by the bar for their choose your own Bloody Mary recipe. You choose your vodka, mixer, rim (celery salt or old bay or just salt) and garnish. It is always a treat before a flight. They are expensive but you can get a double for 5$ more. Cannot comment on the food since I usually grab food elsewhere

So I'll pose this questions to my fellow beer hunters. What matters to you most ... atmosphere of the bar, or an excellent selection of craft beers on tap, including a few that are hard to find, at rock bottom prices. If you are in the camp of the latter, then you will love Arlington Pub. I stumbled upon Arlington Pub a bit on accident. I was in the area and had heard lots of great things about Galaxy Hut and wanted to check them out. I got there about 4:15PM and found their door locked. Having to REALLY need to use the bathroom, I decided to hop across the street to Whole Foods, take care of business, and then figure out a place to kill time until 5PM. As I headed upstairs towards the restroom, I saw that my search for a place to kill time would be over quickly. Behold Arlington Pub. They had recently had a tap takeover from Oskar Blues Brewing, the brewery best know for Dale's Pale Ale. Tap takeovers are a great way to find and sample beers that you rarely see. In this case, it was the excellent Ninja Cow ESB. I found it a bit dark in color for an ESB, but had that characteristic ESB smoothness. They were on the tail end of the tap takeover, so some of the OB brews were tapped, but had been replaced with some interesting options. They offer a flight, so I decided to sample a few of the other OB offerings - their 10 Fidy Imperial Stout and Gubna Imperial IPA. I also threw in selections from other breweries - Sump Coffee Stout from Perennial and Allagash Curieux, a Belgian Tripel aged in Jim Beam bourbon barrels. These are all VERY strong beers, but the flight pours were generous, and there was no upcharge on the strong brews. The flight, normally $5, was $4 for happy hour. And prices like this is what makes you forget that you are enjoying cheap craft beer on the top floor of a hipster grocery store. My pint of Ninja Cow, normally $3, was a dollar off for happy hour. Throw in a double espresso to finish off after the flight, and my tab was under $10. And the bartender/barista actually functions as a checkout cashier, so there is no need to tip and no place for tipping on a credit card transaction. (I didn't ask if they were allowed to take cash tips ... I didn't have cash, so it was a bit of a moot point.) So if you can get over the fact that the this is a bar on the upper level of Whole Foods, you'll find Arlington Pub is a great place to kill some time and enjoy a great selection of craft beer at insanely cheap prices.

All the other Whole Foods have a much better Beer & Wine selection and are far more cleaner. The glasses all have lip marks and the tables have chunks of old food and are sticky ALWAYS! There are also numerous surveillance cameras & the lighting is extremely harsh above the bar which I find very odd. It's a shame because I love eating & having a drink or two at Whole Foods for it's a comfortable place to be alone & not feel like I'm at a meat market. I now many times go to the Fairoaks location which has lower nice lighting, is clean and has a great atmosphere.

My husband is a die-had Arsenal fan and was overjoyed by the chaotic bar scene he encountered as soon as he entered. The City + Arsenal game had the entire bar packed with fans from both sides pulling up random seats wherever there was a free space. We came a bit late into the game but found a seat in a quieter area of the restaurant that still had good television access. With the dreary rain outside, it felt like we had settled right in a proper British pub! Food wise: - For my husband: Wings were generous, grilled, and delicious with interesting flavors - For me: Fish and chips were light, flakey, and came with some of the best house cut fries I've ever had. - For the kiddos: Although they had a kids menu, my daughters decided to split some pancakes (basically crepes with raspberries and cream sauce, scrambled eggs, bacon, and potatoes. Portions are more than generous and the managers were bustling around, talking shop, and thanking everyone who walked through their door. We will definitely be back!

Since we sat outside we had to go inside to place our order and then a server or someone that worked there would deliver our food. If it was a drink then they would make the drink on the spot. I think it was a bit confusing because when you sit down at a table outside you'd assume maybe someone would notice but that isn't the case. I think that's just something people should ahead on time. It may be the same case inside where you have tables to sit down at but no server to take your order, ect. Otherwise I didn't get much here other than fries and Guinness on Draft so I can at least review something food related.. Fries, crispy, there is a crunch in every bite, topped with parmesan cheese and parsley, it is pretty good for something to snack on. The Guinness on Draft is surprisingly extremely smooth and was very enjoyable; I would get it again! My friends got the poutine and I'd say after sampling it, it's great. Fries with cheese curds topped with gravy. Savory, Delicious, and filling. I'll most likely pay a 2nd visit! That Guinness is calling me!

I would have had a better experience if there were more vegan friendly options and better service. The only thing on the menu I could find that was vegan were french fries. I wish they had a vegan sandwich option. They do have a decent amount of vegetarian options, but they could not be made vegan. I ordered their french fries and was impressed with the portion size. Additionally, the french fries were well seasoned and the right amount of crispy with a soft center. This, however, is not a meal and I really wish I could have enjoyed something more substantial. The service was so slow and that would be my main reason for not wanting to come back. It was really fun seeing how many people the employees knew by name. The bar was bustling with business. I love that this restaurant is well attended by regulars and locals. But it took way too long for me to get a second drink and the bill.

Unfortunately, service started off on the wrong foot. There was a very large party already on the patio, and I was seated behind them. I waited about 12-15 minutes before the rest of my group arrived, but no server ever came by. We decided to head inside to get re‑seated, but couldn't find a hostess anywhere. We eventually flagged down a random server in the bar area and asked if a four‑top could be cleared so we could sit there instead. Thankfully, once we moved inside, everything improved dramatically. Service from that point on was attentive and friendly. The "Peoples Hour" menu was a highlight--great pricing without feeling "cheap." Appetizers were $6-10, cocktails $6-8, wines $6, and beers $6.50. The Down & Dirty (a vodka martini variation without vermouth) was solid, and the Out of the Office...Forever rum punch was decent. For food, we tried several items: - Makers Mini Nachos with steak -- Generous toppings but the chips got soggy quickly under all the queso, sour cream, and guac, which is not necessarily a bad thing. - Taco-bout Fish -- Crispy cod with a lemon aioli; one of the better bites of the night. - Drop It Like It's Hot -- Really good chicken tenders with a spicy Comeback sauce. - Lil B sliders -- Nicely cooked and not overdone; the Comeback sauce added a nice kick. The space has an upscale sports‑bar vibe with TVs above and around the bar. Seating can feel tight when it's busy, and the noise level definitely climbs, so keep that in mind if you're looking for a quieter meal. Despite the rocky start, the rest of the evening was enjoyable. Good food, great happy hour pricing, and solid service once we were settled inside. I'd return--just probably not to the patio during a big party.
