All around bad experience. Poor communication. Really over priced services. After paying $345 for a fan service that didn't fix my issue, I didn't trust bringing it back to them. I took it to another repair shop and had the fan service redone since I didn't trust OC Computers repairs, had the cooler fluid replaced, and air cooler replaced for $200 labor + $60 for the air cooler. This was all done in 3 days while OC Computers had my computer from July 1st - July 29th. Shame on me for not reading their reviews more closely. read more

I had Sean repair my gaming laptop which needed a new screen and cover along with securing my charging port. My laptop died after three years of faithful service. No power no nothing checked around to local big box stores, and was not confident in their service. Therefore, I went to OC computers that was recommended by a friend the staff there took my computer and said they would do their best to save it would get back to me Just a couple days later they let me know that my laptop was unstable, but they could fix up a new laptop and clone my old one. Oh my God I have a faster laptop with more memory and it's very fast and it's exactly my other computer every program setting, etc. just put in a few passwords and Wala I would recommend them to anyone but they did a great job at a fair price and not keep me waiting. I had a really nasty ransomeware virus on my computer. Normally I'm able to handle this stuff myself but this time it was really bad. Sean, the owner, came to the house a couple hours later (at no charge) to take a look. Sean determined that that he would have to take the computer back to the office to fix it (but would first provide me with an estimate). I have had a small business for 20 years and have used a good number of vendors to set up networks, install software, backup etc. I recently purchased a new computer and needed to export 10 years of data off older machine. I called Sean and he responded immediately, set up a time to pick up ( on a Friday!) explained what it would require and promised that have it back and working Monday am. He let me know Sunday it was done and 10am Monday he brought it back and installed with everything working exactly as I wanted. I had a PC with a bad hard drive. I met with Sean at the office, gave him my PC to look at. Within 48 hours Sean told me what was wrong and gave me a quote. He fixed and got back to me in a couple days. After having it back for a few weeks, I can say it works better than before. All in all, about a week from initial contact to getting PC back. Like a lot of you reading these reviews, I was suddenly hit with my Windows computer being unable to boot. I had created a Windows recovery drive and thought I was safe, not so. My computer would not come up in any Windows mode (Safe or normal) I also discovered that the backups that I thought I was performing periodically had not completed successfully for over a year. In other words, I was screwed. I looked on Yelp hoping someone might be able to recover the data on my disk. After reading Sean's reviews and seeing several stories that mirrored mine, I thought I'd at least give it a shot. OC Computers is located right next to the Crack Shack on 17th street in Costa Mesa. I tell you this because the Crack Shack is very popular and parking is tight. The office building that houses OC Computers has reserved parking so you should be able to find a spot. Sean's office is located in a shared office space with a very nice receptionist. Now down to the nitty-gritty. My computer drive did not want to be recovered. Sean worked hard to get all of my data back. I told him I really only needed my documents recovered but as I type this, I am going through a reinstall a lot of programs and apps and I am realizing that all of these reinstalls would have been a nightmare without Sean's data recovery. My computer is actually better than new. I had Sean install a 256GB SSD drive (Solid State Drive) to be home to my Windows installation. SSD drives are much faster than regular hard drives and my computer now is screaming fast (It takes less than 5 seconds to boot up). Sean responds almost immediately to text messages and did a great job of keeping me informed as to the progress of my data recovery. He tells you straight up what you are looking at and what it's going to take to fix it. I highly recommend OC Computers. I would definitely do business with Sean again. read more
