I need to update my review from 2014. Honestly this post office has gotten better over the years so I will go up from a 2 to a 3. The counter service is very friendly and helpful. Like all post offices you may have to wait in line but my waits have never been more than 5 minutes and like I said they have been friendly and professional. They also have a self service machine in the lobby. The only complaint is that they have had problems over the past several years with thieves stealing the large outdoor mail box with its own drive thru lane. That's sad and it's too bad that the bad guys get away with that. It amazes me that people would steal a mail box especially the extra large ones that have been outside here. Currently there is no box so you have to walk inside to mail something. read more

Waited 45 minutes in line to send one box. The post office should be in and out. Please improve staffing or give your staff some motivation to actually help people. There were two young girls working and they had 0 urgency walking to the back for 5-10 minutes at a time. I will not be returning to this post office and hope they close it down. read more

I'll start off with i frequent a post office at least once a day all over town. So I am quite familiar on which ones to avoid like the plague and the ones that are fast + friendly. In my opinion, this usps has the fastest and happiest employees! I will give a special shoutout to Elsa (unsure if I got it right) the most helpful one that I've witnessed time and time again turn the rudest customers and into happy customers. My interactions with her have always shown me how she always goes above and beyond. The bonus about this location is how close it is to beltway and 290 vs other ones that are kind of positioned further away from a freeway. read more

I walked in five minutes before closing time yesterday and was greeted by the clerk with "we're closed and you'll have to come back tomorrow." I said, "it's five minutes until six" and the clerk responded "I don't care, I'm here by myself and you need to come back tomorrow." I said, "it's not closing time yet" and she said "well, I'll go get my supervisor and let her deal with you." There was another man standing there and he said she had just told him the same thing. A few minutes later the clerk returned with the supervisor and the supervisor waited on the remaining customers including myself and the other man. am extremely disappointed with the service at our local USPS. Today, my elderly mother had a particularly unpleasant experience with the employee working at the counter. My mother is older and also struggles with a language barrier, so I was on FaceTime with her to help, and I witnessed the unfair treatment firsthand. From the moment we arrived, it was clear the employee was reluctant to do her job. When my mother asked for flat rate envelopes, which weren't available on the floor, the employee made a big deal about standing up to get them. She muttered under her breath and begrudgingly handed the envelopes to my mother. The rudeness didn't stop there. This employee was snapping at other customers and seemed to be in an overall bad mood. She was also yelling at her coworker to help her. While we understand that she might have been stressed and overwhelmed, her behavior was extremely unprofessional and made all the customers feel unwelcome. She was the only employee working at the time on May 23rd, 2024 at 5pm. This isn't an isolated incident either. We come to this post office multiple times a week, and the staff is consistently rude and unhelpful. It's incredibly frustrating to deal with such negative attitudes on a regular basis. USPS really needs to address the behavior of their employees at this location. Customers deserve to be treated with respect and professionalism, not subjected to the kind of treatment we experienced today. There is only one employee that is kind and efficient on a regular basis. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving the customer service at this post office. read more

This post office was a nightmare to come to, but maybe the bad reviews of all these amazing yelpers, got them to improve their customer service. My last few visits have been surprisingly pleasant. The ladies in customer service have been really helpful and attentive. I've been able to enjoy my mailing experience. I was even suggested what box to purchase to get more bang for my buck. It's a pretty big post office, they have PO boxes as well. And automatic stamp dispenser. They have an area for passports at this location , they have applications in the front counter and I believe you can also make your appointment with them, not sure if you have to call or schedule the appointment online. There's plenty of parking, there's also a drive thru drop off for your letters, not big enough for boxes tho. read more

I absolutely love coming to this location. The workers here are so friendly & get it done quickly. Sometimes there is a line but it doesn't last long. Tried the one closer to me but I'd rather take a longer drive to people who are way more friendlier and know what they're doing. read more

The way they speak to people at this location is unacceptable. When I first walked in the woman at the desk was screaming at one of the customers. Once it came to my turn (found out it wasn't the line I needed to be in) she directed me to a door with basically no expression on her face. Basically "Go here!" As soon as I got to the door, and asked my question, the gentleman looked at me like I was an idiot. This location is a little further than my local post office, but I'd rather drive here than stand in that hell hole of a line with rude staff and customers at Willow Chase. This location is much more better, being that they have a machine to help alleviate the line some. In my opinion, the machine is much better than having to deal with clerks most of the time. Clerks can be rude at times, and I'm just trying to get in and out the damn place. However, the workers here are somewhat nicer and help move the line faster with personal assistance. The building is a lot more spacious, so no one is crammed up against each other in line... As mentioned before, this location is a huge difference than other locations, as well as worth the extra miles to drive for. read more

This post office is absolutely ridiculous. The people who work here are extremely RUDE, even when you are nice. They should all be replaced by robots hahaha then you might get good service . Idk tho they still might develop an issue with people. But anyway we wouldn't even come here if this wasn't the one that served our area. Cynthia is the main issue here, Instead of explaining as to why we couldn't ship a box the way we had it in a nice way she raised her voice in front of everyone and treated us like we were 5, I'm sorry but we never come to the post office unless we HAVE to so we are not sure how it all works. But we were nice and said "sorry we didn't know you couldn't ship it like that". And that's when she went off and started taking to other customers about us while we were standing right there. I schedule several home mail pick ups a week. Inevitably one of them doesn't get picked up. This is extremely frustrating. What gets me even madder, is the email I receive saying my package has been picked up when it happens. Why do you offer this service if your carriers can't walk from their truck to my front porch to picked up a package? ? The service is inconsistent. To make matters even worse, you can NEVER get a hold of the Fairbanks PO via phone. I swear someone took the phone off the hook. The inside PO staff are fantastic. Absolute nightmare to deal with if there is an issue. Mail carrier started returning all my mail to sender with no explanation. I had to call the 1-800 number and was on hold for more than 2 hours. Then they sent me to this post office and they had me on hold for 45 minutes before I gave up and called back. Then they were very, very rude. They are a nightmare to deal with. read more

Went in for a money order and although it cost just as much in charges as I needed printed on the money order, the clerk couldn't have been nicer. Thought I would have to ask if they sold envelopes somewhere in there (it's been years since I dealt with I post office)but she asked if I needed a stamped envelope!! The worker named Debria, was arguing with me about the dumbest thing. I was first in line then I stepped out of line to write my addresses on my package, I used the table that was in the middle of the room that was between the registers and people waiting in line. She told me to move because she didn't want people to be confused and get behind me, I told her I wasn't in line, and I was clearly out of the way. I ignored her and continue what I was doing and she just starts attacking me with "I told you to move" "your not going to listen to me" and I said there isn't a line and I'm not in the way then she kept saying "I'm going to deny you service" and "your going to have to go to another location" and just going on and on. She was just being plain rude! If you look at the video footage, you would clearly see there wasn't any line because it wasn't crowded and even if there was a line, I wasn't in the way. When I did go back in line, and out of the 3 sales associates, I was conveniently next up with her, she just walks away from her register, even though I wasn't planning on checking out with her and would of preferred to check out with one of the other 2, which I did and the lady was so friendly and helpful and apologized for the Debria associate's actions. She apparently always has that attitude because even her co workers said she is always like that and even one of her co workers gave me her name and a number to call to complain about her. This Debria lady is African American and has a big hair do which you can't miss and she likes to use the word "sweety" a lot. These people clearly hate their lives and/or their jobs. They are the most surly bunch of workers I've ever experienced. How can you have such a nasty attitude with a person you just met? Don't you dare ask them a question!! They will make sure you know that they are not there to deliver knowledge about postal services...or help you ship packages...or buy stamps...or get a new passport...or do anything actually postal-related. One person in line you say? That's at least a 20 minute wait. Two people in line? You may as well come back tomorrow. Also, how does it take 2-3 days to deliver a package under 2 miles?? I hate coming here, the staff is so rude and moves at the pace of a turtle. They have bad customer service and acts like WE need them instead of them needing us. A quick trip to this post office can often turn into a 30+minute wait with only a few people in line. LoL This location is slow as hell. I'm usually a patient person but this location usually test my patience every now and then. The employees are older(50+) women, so they don't work with a pep in their step. They have always been nice and kind towards me, but I have seem them get "attitudes" with difficult customers. I use to be able to drop my ebay packages off on the counter, but this location has a problem with scanning packages in. So, I opt to wait in line to make sure the clerk scan them in and I get a receipt! read more

Train your employee (Carol or maybe Carolyn) to not talk about customers especially when they can hear you. Carol forced me to buy stamps instead of running the envelopes through the postage machine. When I asked why I had to buy stamps instead of her running the envelopes through the machine she really didn't give a clear answer and instead kept asking how many stamps did I need. I purchased 32 stamps and stepped to the side to place a stamp on each envelope. While doing so Carol decided it was a good idea to tell another customer that I didn't know I had to purchase stamps to mail a letter. How rude and unprofessional of her. 1st I'm standing right where I can clearly hear her and 2nd that was not the truth. So I spoke up for myself and told her I am fully aware that you can buy stamps or have your items run through the machine and also told her that she should want to wait until I leave next time before she starts talking about customers. HOW RUDE!!!!! Every time (which is rare) I go to this location it is super slow and this isn't the 1st time I've seen incompetent workers. I was already unhappy with her not wanting to do her job and run the envelopes through the postage machine. I work near this location but I'll stick to the post office near my home next time. read more
