First off, I have nothing but good things to say about both of the drivers I met. Both friendly guys who were very helpful. The issues I had were with the management. Due to the unusual circumstances of my move I was able to work out payment options with the corporate 1800 U-Pack office, but it never got communicated to the Washington branch. This resulted in doing the normal payments on storage and moving, which was a pinch due to the sudden nature of the move, but we have been responsible financially and made it work. We arrived in WA on a Friday to get the house and it was Monday before the WA U-pack had our freight scheduled to arrive. I say scheduled because the time window they said it would arrive overlapped into the time when the base passes their company chose expired. They were within the time they promised, but were not allowed base access so it wasn't until Tuesday morning that we were able to start moving our stuff in. Knowing that the 12 hour window for base access existed I would have liked the planned arrival time to be within those 12 hours. Other than that, a few boxes got banged up and our entertainment center was crushed. We packed it ourselves so I can't say if it was me or the ride over or the many speed bumps on base.
That said, they were the only company available on short notice to move and store a house and other than a lack of communication between corporate and local branches they were very friendly and helpful. With more time in a normal move I'd imagine it would have been a lot smoother. read more
