I moved from the Chicago area to Reno, NV. I did not have a lot to move, but it was enough to need a service. I received my cube as requested, and they were very flexible when my close date was pushed out and I changed my pickup date. I received my cube at a storage facility and they were accommodating about making it a same day pick up, which was required by the storage facility. I moved from Oswego, IL to Brooklyn, NY. It was very easy to set up the drop, outside of calling after hours uppin seeing their was 24 hour service advertised on their website and received no answer. I am disgusted with the Unprofessionalism and negligence of your company!!!! I had 18ft of a trailer delivered today with every item ruined due to garlic salt being shipped with my belongings. Everything I own reeks of garlic! Every item I own now needs to go in the garbage! Thanks for ruining all of my belongings you jerks!!!! A wonderful experience! We decided on Upack since we wanted to pack our most important items ourselves. The process was very easy and efficient. We had considered renting a truck and driving from Naperville down to Lakeland Florida, but I really didn't want to be a truck driver. Upack prices were actually less than renting a truck and buying gas, paying for motel rooms and driving for 2+ days! After we had completed packing all of our belongings and prepared our furniture for the move, we called Upack and arranged the delivery of 2 relocubes. They arrived right on time and they were placed in our driveway right where we wanted them. We spent 2.5 days loading them up with furniture, boxes and anything else we could grab. Those cubes are deceptively large, about 305 cubic feet! We locked the cubes and ABF came and picked them up! The cubes were placed on a flat bed trailer for transportation to the local hub, where they were placed INSIDE of a semi trailer, protected from the weather! The Upack web site lets you track the shipment of your relocubes. Ours went out that night, bound for Indianapolis, then Nashville, then on to Atlanta and finally down to Tampa. There, we received a message asking us to call and schedule the delivery of our relocubes to our new house. A quick call, at 10:30 p.m. (they offer round the clock assistance!), and delivery was set for the next day. The relocubes went from Naperville, IL to Lakeland, FL in 4 days! Everything arrived in excellent condition. I could see where some of the boxes had rubbed together and some of the boxes did shift during transit. But, again, everything was fine! (Proper packing makes all of the difference!) I would not hesitate to use Upack again and will be telling all of my friends about this great way to move. read more

I have had a horrible experience with U-Pack from the beginning. I was supposed to depart California on Monday, August 24th once our trailer was loaded. I was told the trailer would arrive at my house between 12-4. The trailer did not arrive at my house until 6:30 p.m. I was unable to depart that night and lost the money we had used to purchase a hotel for that night. Instead we were forced to leave the following morning and complete our 13 hour drive in one day. It has been 3 weeks and I STILL have not received my container. U-Pack was very quick to send me an invoice and, once that bill was paid, I have not heard from them. They have transferred me to 2 different companies, one of which could not even find my container and now, I have been told that the container is available but they cant find the key to open it. It has been 3 weeks and we are still sleeping on air mattresses, living out of our suitcase, with NONE of our belongings. I would not recommend this company to ANYONE! read more

I had a dining room set and other things I needed moved from a Chicago suburb to an Atlanta suburb. U-Pack seemed the best way to move it vs. a rental truck or other cube/pod options. It worked out in the end, but there were some minor bumps along the way. I signed up for a noon-4pm cube delivery since no one would be home until noon and someone is supposed to be home to sign papers and tell them where to put the cube. I got a call at 10am saying they were at the house and no one answered the door. I told him he was early and he said he was in the area, so he agreed to leave the cube on the street. One thing to note is that there are no reflectors on the cube, so we were concerned that at night someone might drive into it as it was parked on a residential street. They picked it up the day after I called, no issue there. For delivery, I was given the date of a Tuesday before 4pm. I called at 4pm when it had not arrived, and was told someone should have called me that it wasn't going to be delivered until the following day. I wasn't in a hurry, but annoyed that I waited all day for it. Next day, same deal, they never came and when I called they said they were on their way. But then a couple of hours later (6pm) they said the truck broke down and it was delayed until the following day (Thursday). I asked to be first on the delivery schedule so I wouldn't have to wait all day again. Finally it arrived Thursday. For pickup, online Sunday I requested pickup. They didn't pick it up until Wednesday. Not a big deal as it was in my driveway, but just annoying. So they were ok. I wasn't in a rush so the delays didn't cause me undue stress. The contents in my cube were undisturbed, nothing shifted, so I think they handle the cubes ok, nothing too rough. I had posted a few questions in Facebook chat for customer service and got responses within a few hours. I would use them again, just don't expect lightning service. read more

Moved some household goods from Lemont, IL to Naples, FL. Outstanding service from every person in the process - from the initial phone call to inquire, drop off/pick up of box in Lemont and drop off/pick up in Naples. The entire process was coordinated and completed within 2 weeks. We made a last minute decision to use a relo box; the box was delivered the day after calling, picked up 3 business days later and delivered to Florida within 5 days. I recently shipped a cube of things from the Chicago area to San Francisco, and was impressed with U-Pack every step of the way. I called about 6 other companies & found their price was competitive (expensive, but so was everyone else). Their customer service folks were really helpful and the info they provided was really clear. They ship using ABF which is a well-respected freight company. I tied my things down really well inside the cube & didn't have any damage. The cube was dropped off & picked up at the appointment times we had set and the drivers were friendly & professional. This was my 3rd time using u pack, (abf moving) this moving company has the best rates and some of the kindest people. I was going to use a full service moving company this time but taking all the little costs into consideration it ended up being so expensive over 6k for a 3 bedroom house from IL to TN. What I ended up doing instead was using movers in IL to load and movers in TN to unload was the timing perfect no but patience is a virtue and our stuff arrived safely and on time. ABF is a great company and I would choose to work with them again and again. read more

We moved our daughter from the Chicago area to Camp Pendleton in California. We ordered two U-Pack storage units just in case we needed two, because they give you the option of not paying for the one you don't fill. We filled both, and they were packed pretty tight. Very little shifting during the cross country trip. The light weight things up on the top of the stack (like empty Sterilite drawers and containers, pillows and similar items) moved forward toward the door, which we expected. Nothing was broken or damaged. The driver that delivered the U-Pack to us to be loaded, and the driver who delivered it to the new address were very nice and gave good tips. They listened to how we wanted the units to be placed in the driveway and made the placement of the units look very simple. Very satisfied with all the people we were in contact with during the process. It turned out to be much more smooth and simple than we expected. We will use U-Pack moving company again, and we highly recommend you compare moving companies and give U-Pack a try. Price was better than their competitors too. read more

Overall my experience with UPack was fantastic. We were moving from Chicago to North Carolina so dates and addresses had to be changed a few times. Each time I called, their team were very helpful and courteous. The trailer was delivered to my house on time and picked up when I called. Last minute, I need to store our trailer and again it was not an issue. They stored it in there warehouse in North Carolina until we were ready for it. The trailer was delivered to our new house on time and picked up promptly after I called telling them it was ready. I ended up paying 2800 for the trailer. That included the travel to NC along with about 20 days in storage. I hired movers to help me unload in NC so in all I spent 3100 for a move across several states. You can't beat that!! Only reason this isn't 5 stars was because the day we moved in it poured out. The very corner of the trailer had a small leak that ended up soaking a box spring. Overall great experience and I would highly recommend them to anyone. read more
