Went here for propane, was told my tank was not certified despite being filled at multiple uhauls in recent months. While I tried to explain the basics of different propane tanks to the young tech, he decided to call his manager and get rude. I cut my losses and the Uhaul in Burien helped me out right away! Wow, who knew U-Haul would be so easy? Honestly, not me! This location looks super questionable on the outside, but for the most, they know their shizz. I came, and yes, of course, the customer service is a little slow considering there's only 1 person manning the store, but I will say, my experience was informative, helpful and when I was finally tended to, it was a breeze. No issues at all. The 9' cargo van i rented definitely fit my 3 queen beds, but it is nowhere big enough to fit anything else. you're better off renting a bigger truck for an apartment/house move. I ended up having to do 2 trips with the cargo van so that upped my price, but otherwise, I thought my price was really good. $19.95/day, $10 insurance coverage, and my estimated miles put me at $65. That was a deal to me. Then when I had to do another round trip that upped me to about $100. BUT that was estimated as miles are .99 cents/mile. I still say that's not bad at all considering my reservations were originally going to be 4 hrs but then i needed it longer--they were SO accommodating and helpful. Check out was also a breeze with the whole online check-in/check-out process. I definitely recommend as it will help save you time! The only downfall is that they don't do overnight drop-offs. They told me to come in the morning b/c they don't accept night drops. read more

DO NOT RENT HERE IF YOU NEED TO PARK YOUR VEHICLE. I rent about 15 times a year from various uhaul locations and this one was ridiculous. They have 20+ trucks to rent and 3 parking spaces. He offered that I could park in the transit center 2 blocks away which I was concerned about the safety of my vehicle and my belongings in it. I parked in an open space and the guy who asked me to move (an hour before closing) says it was employee parking. I would have certainly rented from another location if I knew I wouldn't be able to park especially on a day when it is pouring rain. The truck was fine. The location not. read more

Rude, Rude Rude and Rude I felt as if I was being managed and not given appropriate customer service from the time I walked into this U-Haul location in Seattle, Washington. There was a great deal of clutter on the floor of the store. I attempted to navigate around it and avoid the representative who was lifting a heavy load. While trying to find the front desk, I was tersely redirected to go along a different route. Once the rep had put down the load. She proceeded to the front desk with no smile and no interest in assisting me. I informed her I was scheduled for a moving van this particular morning and provided her with the necessary information and government ID with a photo. At that point she began to question the address on my DL and the address I used for the online rental. I informed her I was moving to a new state, hence needing the moving van. I booked the online rental to return the moving van the same day and to the same location. The rep then picked up her personal mobile and informed me she had to take a same day photo of me as part of my U-Haul driver's contract. I questioned this having used U-Haul in the past. A government photo ID was always appropriate. She condescendingly informed me, U-Haul had implemented this one year ago. I did not agree with this but complied because it was getting late in the day. I had to get my things moved out of storage and take everything to the Alaska Airlines Cargo Business to have my possessions flown out the same day. I also had a flight booked that evening for myself to return to Alaska. I completed the same day photo and signed the agreement papers. The rep showed me a key with numbers on it. Then said the truck was in a plotted location in the back. I spent 10 minutes searching for the van. I reluctantly returned to the store for assistance. Again, the representative acted as if I was bothering her and came outside to indicate the van was located at the far end of the back lot. When I did discover the van, it was parked in the far rear, behind the larger U-Haul moving trucks. The plotted letters and numbers on the ground, she indicated to, are faded. Now, I was pressed for time since it took a better part of an hour at the U-Haul store including checking out the van. I was deeply concerned that if I didn't return the van at the appointment time the representative would forward my information to the local police. Later in the day, upon returning the moving van on time, I pulled into the returns section ahead of another moving truck. I stepped out of the van, leaving the key in the ignition. The van was alarming loudly because the key was in the ignition. I gathered the remainder of my possessions and closed the door to quiet the alarm. The second truck driver exited his truck and proceeded to walk over to the rep who I dealt with that morning and another U-Haul rep. Both reps entered into a conversation with the second driver and ignored me. After a few moments of witnessing both reps had no intentions of assisting me to get the van checked in, I interrupt the trio informing them I had a flight to catch. That is when the second rep began to verbally attack and interrogate me as to where the keys were to the van. I sternly informed him the keys were in the van and walked away disgusted with the whole ordeal. Hard working individuals such as myself, will be more consciencious in how best to use our funds and stop blithely giving our money to business who in turn for our patronage treat us with such disrespect and loathing. It's time to start bankrupting businesses who hire reps lacking in customer service skills. U-Haul, take a few lessons from your neighboring business such as the Red Lion Hotel, Alaska Airlines and Enterprise Car Rentals, who all did a phenomenal job of assisting me in relocating to a new state. U-Haul, your business is an eye soar in the realm of customer service and your business is in grave need of excavation of the people working in your organization. U-Haul, how dare you criminalize a person(s) try to move from one state to another. Moving in itself is a stressful event without the added pressure of being threatened if one doesn't return U-Haul's equipment on time. It does not state on U-Haul's website or in the literature that a same day photo taken with a U-Haul representative's personal mobile phone is a requirement to renting equipment from U-Haul. Both of the U-Haul representatives I dealt with that day were despicable in their actions. I caution patrons to no longer use this business because of the irreverent consistency of poor customer service. Just FYI, when my possessions did arrive in Alaska, I rented a F-150 from Enterprise Car Rentals to pick up my possessions from Alaska Cargo Airlines to bring them to my new home. I had the worst experience in this location with David who was rude and made me uncomfortable. From talking aggressively to commenting "great. Another reservation so early for a damn car tow" and the rest of the rental process was uncomfortable just by his unprofessionalism. We reserved a 26" truck to move a house out of state. They said that they didn't have it and gave us a 20" foot truck. Because of that, when we packed up the truck, there wasn't enough room. We had to go and pick up a trailer and pay extra for that, and was still not enough room and we had to leave some stuff. Because of this we had a very hard time packing and gave us stress because they refused to give us what we reserved. read more

That is what they told me son when he complained because they: *Told him there was a delay to move his pod as they fired the person he was dealing with *Told him they lost his pod in the warehouse *Told him they found it but the lock was broken off his pod - he doesn't know what has been stolen or damaged *Now they say they will deliver it for free by giving him coupons that the warehouse driver doesn't recognize *The warehouse driver says he can't deliver to his alley as the trailer can't get in and stay and they can't remove it from the trailer *He still doesn't have his stuff from a move on 7/1 from Seattle to Long Beach, CA. He has paid them $1200 already for this move, and they tell him that they are getting lots of complaints and that is just the way it goes. This is honestly the worst experience I can imagine, I wouldn't trust these people with anything you care about or with anything that has to be in a particular place at a particular time. read more

Went in to try and get my propane tank refilled. The guy inside didn't even acknowledge me and the place smelled like pot. I waited a few minutes and decided I would take my business elsewhere. I don't know if the guy working there was the one smoking or if it was a customer that had just left but I thought why risk it. The hand written sign covering the key return box could have given clearer truck return procedures but we got through it. Customer service was really greay during pick up. When I dropped off, I parked to return and waited like I was told when I picked up. A staff member walked past me and said nothing. I waited 20 minutes then finally went inside and waited another 25 minutes to return. I tried to use the online return tool but it would not except my photo of the mileage and fuel level. 45 minutes to return a truck is a bit excessive. But the Staff was friendly. They just need to make sure they have appropriate staffing for their amount of rentals and it being the beginning of a weekend. read more

I rented a Ubox that was supposed to be delivered out of this location. The system they have is a absolute mess and they overcharged me. My ubox was supposed to show up at 9am moving day, which it did not. Instead of being able to talk to someone directly about the whereabouts of my ubox, the phone system automatically directs to customer service who have no idea what's going on. Every time I would talk to one of them, they would put me on hold and either hang up on me or it would redirect to the main menu so I'd have to explain the situation all over again. After finally getting ahold of the GM, he told me there was nothing he could do because the company who delivers my ubox is not his company and he could not give me their name or contact information, so basically I just had to wait until I got a phone call from them telling me when my ubox would be delivered. After it showing up 8 hours late, I talked to the driver who told me she would pick it up first thing the next morning. Again, she was 8+ hours late, picking it up the next evening. After going through this hassle, I look at my credit card statement and find out they overcharged me $22. I have a contract that says they will charge me in three increments and the first two increments were dead on. However, the final charge, originating out of this location, was overcharged and he refused to authorize a refund of $22. The whole thing is a huge hassle with 0 acknowledgement to customer service. Take your business elsewhere. read more

I reserved a truck weeks before my move. On the day I indicated on my reservation I showed up and waited HOURS because they didn't have a truck for me. When I started looking elsewhere to rent a truck, they somehow "found" a truck. When I asked where this truck was they said late return. Come to find out it was not a late return it was actually a broken truck waiting for repairs. One person hesitated giving me the truck because I had to drive it a long distance. I found out that this truck was waiting for repairs by accident when I was returning it. Take your money elsewhere, it is not safe renting trucks from this location. read more

I had above average customer service. I rented a truck a 17' truck for a move across town... Rented it for 24 hours. Had no problems. I was worried that I may hit or kill something so I added the extra warranty. The guy actually tried to talk me out of it. No one ever does that. Just trying to save me a dollar. I can't say enough great things about the customer service that I received from the U-haul employees at this site. The person who waited on me was incredibly kind and supportive. I was moving belongings from storage and feeling worried about what I would find, about the trip back in the U-haul truck, about operating the truck, etc. He helped me feel confident and expressed incredible compassion and kindness. A friend purchased moving boxes for us to pick up here. We arrived just after 6 pm (they are open until 7) and spent nearly ten minutes just waiting for someone to acknowledge I was even there. Two employees were outside laughing and carrying on, and then when they finally saw me they whistled and told me to come outside. Once they came in to help me collect the order, it took four tries to get everything right. You could do much better than to go here. read more

I am sure that we all have stories about U-Haul. This location is dedicated to just renting U-Hauls and they seem really concerned about making sure that their equipment is in good shape. I needed a trailer for a Boy Scout Campout so I reserved a trailer and just hoped that it wasn't the U-Haul, craptastic standard - beat to death, wires loose, etc. The owner of the location clearly knows his stuff, and the trailer was just fine and worked great for our trip. I am sure that I will use them again for future Scout outings. read more

We contacted customer service on the day of the incident and was informed that someone would return our call within 3 days, we did not get a returned call. We called customer service again after 6 business days and was told someone would call us back regarding our complaint, we received a call back and was told uhaul will research and reach out to us again in a couple days. No call. Uhaul totally disregards customer's complaints and is horrible with following through with what they said they'd do. Maybe they'll do the right thing when there's a lawsuit. read more

If this is how Uhaul expects their staff to run their business, they should be shut down. I was there 3 times (dealt with the same girl which is the manager), and not once did I had an acceptable experience with her. It's Uhaul so I'm not looking for 4 star treatment, but some respect and customer focus should be minimum. 1st time I was there I was given my rental. She would stop helping me midway and go help someone else, pick up the phone or leave to go outside without saying anything. This was rude, but it didn't irritate me. Even if she wasn't effective at what she was doing I thought it was nice that she's making effort to multi task to help everyone. She read over the terms and conditions very quickly it's hard follow along and there's no room for questions. She then skipped through giving me any options for purchasing insurance. I questioned my options and it was clear that she wanted to push me into the purchasing option because she wouldn't answer my question. Instead she keeps reciting (3 times) that I will have to pay her when I drop off the truck if anything happens. The line was building so I let that go. 2nd visit when I dropped off she was there. The guy taking in the truck was nice. I went inside to get my receipt and she was reluctant. She said it should be emailed to me. I pushed back for a hard copy. She turned around and scolded the guy that checked in the truck and said he was doing something wrong. I walked out with my receipt and noticed a $27 cleaning charge. I went back to question why. I waited about 7 mins while she was on a personal call on speaker using profanity discussing her private business. I asked what was dirty and I wanted to see what I was being charged for. She said it was too late for a refund because they already cleaned the truck. I knew that was BS because the truck just got pulled to the back as I started speaking to her. I walked to the back to find the guy and ask if he had already cleaned the back of the truck. He said no and opened the truck so I can see. Luckily my brother saw the truck when we first got it (all muddy and he had to clean it) and randomly took a picture. By mere chance he drove to Uhaul because he was dropping something off to me. I showed the picture to the Uhaul guy so he headed inside to ask the girl to refund me. Her response to the Uhaul guy as she walked pass me was "I'm over it". I stood there without any acknowledgment. I walked up and asked if there was anything I had to do. She said no, it'll be credited back to my card. 3rd visit was because I noticed a double charge of something I purchased. I called a week later and was told that the manager will contact and credit me. Didn't hear for a week so I checked my credit card and nothing. I called back and the gal who answered first said she couldn't find that transaction. I explained that the rental was charged separately from the transaction in which she disputed that it wasn't possible. I made another comment and she said "I just said that". I was then told to come in for the credit. I came in a few days later and waited. I observed the same girl/manager doing the same thing while she worked. There was a customer on the phone she was talking to on speaker and a lady at the counter renting a truck. As the guy on the phone was responding to her questions, she was reading the lady at the counter her terms and conditions. Then she stopped and asked the guy on the phone another question. As he was responding, the lady was still at the counter, she picked up another phone call and I can hear her say, "who's pissed off at me". She keeps talking on the phone for a couple of mins while the guy on the phone is still talking and the lady still at the counter. Finally she hung up and told the lady to wait at the front for the truck. She then picked up the phone and told the guy to hold on. She went outside to pull up the truck and came back. She finished with the guy on the phone. Instead of asking whose next in line, she helped the guy that was standing behind me in line. Out of courtesy for the guy, I didn't say anything. I told her I was double charged, showed my receipt. She asked me twice to confirm my purchase. Then she went on to lecturing me about how I should've come in sooner to dispute the charges because it's been so long she doesn't know what I purchased. I told her that I was in the process of moving so stopping in wasn't a priority for me. She said that it should be because it's my money. She went on to saying that for future reference I have to call which I told her I did and the process I went through.She said she didn't get the message. I told her it was an internal problem. She continued on to telling me that they can't verify what I purchased as if she's doing me a huge favor. No apology for inconvenience, just bad, know it all attitude with no concern for customer satisfaction. read more

Wow. I have been a long time u-haul customer. I have never had a problem with them and the staff I deal with are always a pleasure. I just got a phone call from a very rude woman at the U-Haul of Seatac, located at 20024 International Blvd Seatac, WA 98188. She was so rude and tried to blame me for their scheduling error. I rented a truck yesterday for a 1 day rental. I told her that I would try and drop it off overnight but I conformed that I could drop it off at 4:30pm at the latest. I was not able to drop it off because their was severe wind and rain that kept us from finishing our move. She called this morning and told me that she has had a 2pm reservation on that truck for 2 weeks at I needed to bring it back. I told her I could not do that and that I would need to bring it back tonight. She said that now she has to pay her client $50.00 because there is no truck available and that is my fault. I don't know why she would give me a truck that is rented out to someone else. How was I supposed to know that even though I had a 24 hour rental... I needed to bring it back early for her other customers. It was like my convenience didn't matter. They are stacking reservations on top of each other and blaming the customer when things do not go right!!! What a terrible experience. The way they do business is terrible and their customer services needs improvement. Clearly not all U-hauls are created equally. read more
