They say that I didnt have a credit card on file, so i gave it over the phone, they even went as far as letting me know that there was an extra charge of $100 due to the company card being a preload card. however they charged a card of the person picking up and not the organization that is paying. I have been trying to call and left messages on the phone and no answer and call back. Definitely never using U-Haul again and recommend renting from another company. I've rented trucks from this locations many times and ALWAYS begrudgingly because locally they're really the only game in town. The service is always terrible and boarders on hostile. The staff seem to operate from a baseline of assuming all customers are criminals that plan on stealing the trucks. One time when renting the lady behind the counter had to confirm the phone number I provided was real by calling it. No problem. I had my cell phone out ready to show her. She proceeds to dial the wrong number and gets an attitude with me demanding to know why the call isn't going through and telling me if she can't confirm the phone number she's going to cancel my rental. I calmly asked her to confirm the phone number only for her to realize she misdialed. Get a grip lady. And if all of that seems trivial there is the fact that U-haul seems perfectly fine with renting trucks to white nationalist. Silence is compliance. read more

My car broke down and I needed to rent a tow dolly last minute to get it to the repair shop, this location was open late and was able to accommodate me. The facility was clean and well-lit, the staff extremely helpful and answered any questions I had about operating the dolly. Upon return they promptly checked me out and got me on my way. You would think that if people were renting vehicles to move on the weekend that you'd have more workers processing the trucks not one person at the counter, this is the worst place to rent a truck. Five people in line, they always have a truck that's stolen and you have to try and find a place to actually get a truck. I don't really see the point in good service at all. I wish I had my own trucking business the trucks would have tracking devices. Hire someone to help, and stop talking so damn much. read more

I would give then zero stars if I could! My son is moving from the Phoenix area to northern CA. He had a week between when he had to be out of his rental in AZ and when he could move into his new address. Last week he rented a trailer and moved everything temporarily into my garage. He reserverved a 6 x 12 foot trailer at U-Haul Moving & Storage of Hemet, to be picked up this morning @ 8AM. He called the office yesterday to confirm the reservation. Additionally, someone from U-Haul Moving & Storage of Hemet even called him later in the day and confirmed it again. He and a friend make the 8 hour drive down to Hemet last night. Upon arriving at the U-Haul Moving & Storage of Hemet this morning at 8:30, he was told they did not have a trailer for him. Their excuse was someone had made a trailer reservation prior to his. This makes no sense. If two trailers were not available, why was his reservation confirmed? U-Haul Moving & Storage of Hemet made NO effort to salvage the problem, other than telling him there was a trailer in Pasadena they could go get. Really? Two hours each way, before loading up and making an 8 hour drive? Ridiculous. It seems to me as it was their error, they should have offered him a small truck at the same price he would have paid for the trailer. Customer Service at U-Haul Moving & Storage of Hemet is beyond bad, it is terrible. Find somewhere else to rent your moving vans and trailers. read more

We had to rent a smal trailer, and this location had a good supply. It has a nice store with all the moving supplies you could use. The clerks were efficient, not super friendly, but got the job done. I would go back as I like the fact that there was an abundance of rental equipment and supplies. read more

U-Haul - Self Storage Near Me - Hemet, California

I made the same rental at the Winchester U-Haul location three months ago, it was $70 less than the Hemet location. First, they didn't have my rental van {the manager told me it smelled like cat urine), I was not offered the $50 U-Haul guarantee. They offered me the 10' truck for the same price, then overcharged me for coverage. I asked the attendant for a miles per gallon estimate, he couldn't say it didn't want to give it to me. I asked him if it would be similar to the van mpg and he said yes.I was not told they didn't give a fuel charge credit, I put the same amount that I had in my August rental, not knowing the truck got twice the mileage. I was given a $17 fuel credit for my August U-Haul rental, I lost over $30 for this rental. When I brought the truck back over 3 hours early, then I was told I was outta luck. I went inside to find Jeremy with his feet on the counter and a smart-aleck attitude. He told me the no fuel credit was in the contract. When I asked to speak with the manager, he lied and said they don't have a manager at this location. The guy who rented to me that morning wasn't there, but I found the guy who was on the other register and he said I could find the manager's card at the register. When I went back inside, I got a mouthful of sarcasm from Jeremy again, but I found the card without his help. The General Manager was the person who rented me this horrible deal. We had amade a reservation for 2:30 When it was our turn to rent the cargo van the lady behind the counter ask for drivers license and credit card. No problem my husband gave her that, the lady took my husband's picture with a camera., and a picture of his license and his credit card. And wanted 3 references. She didn't do that to the 3 people before us. Please Uhaul treat people the same that was not okay. So we took our stuff and told her never mind. I rented a U-Haul via the app and was scheduled to pickup at 8:00am at a different U-Haul location. Unfortunately that location didn't open until 10:00am even though the app allowed for an 8:00am pickup. I searched for another U-Haul location and found this one opened at 8:00am. Lindsay was so very helpful and professional. She was able to switch my pickup location and provided a practically brand new truck. The counter personnel get overwhelmed and rather than helping one customer at a time, attempt to multi-task. THE most unprofessional, rude and disrespectful group of individuals I have EVER had the displeasure of dealing with. Upon returning the trailer we rented to assist my in-laws with a move, they DEMANDED we re-park the trailer before they would even help us. When we asked why WE were needing to repark it, the man we were dealing with literally walked away and said "have fun..." as another employee came to help, I overheard the first man on his walkie-talkie telling his co-worker to "come deal with these f*ckers, because I'm about to f*cking lose it on these motherf*ckers." Waited an hour in line to get my reservation. Only one person at the counter. The debit/credit machine wasn't working. Luckily I had cash but their was no acknowledgement to people in line that the machine was down. So people were getting frustrated when they got to the counter. Also since I was using cash their was an additional 25$ deposit but that wasn't acknowledged either. Just really bad communication with customers. This was my first time at a U-Haul own facility. I'm sorry- I do not like to leave bad reviews...but STAY AWAY!!! This place double charges you...I paid up front for a 24 hour rental and upon return another charge. When I found it on my statement I called and the customer service was the worst I have seen in a looooong time. Nasty, rude, no manners...just filthy mouths. Did not state they messed up or anything...simply said they would look into it and if they messed up they would refund with in a week. WHAT? I got charged twice and now you have to look into it and then wait a week? I escalated it to corporate and they said all office are run separately and they had no control. Just a mess. I did end up getting my account refunded but it did take a week and it also took daily calls because they would not return mine and delayed looking into my complaint. Horrible horrible place. After a failed attempt with Budget, I resorted to give U-Haul a go. I needed a small truck to rent with a different drop off location. This review is specifically for the pick up location (I will review the drop off location later). I proceeded to call their 800 number and they directed me to the nearest location that had the truck I needed. Within five minutes of making the reservation via phone, I arrived at their lot, entered their office and was processed in less than 15 minutes. Only needed a truck for three hours. We made an online reservation. Went in it was ready and we picked it up. We returned it and of course they tried to nickle and dime the gas but we put the right amount and even took pictures. Make sure you stand up for yourself if you are legit. The lady, I'm assuming a manager isn't the friendliest or even most courteous customer service representative you will ever meet that is for sure. UPDATE: got a call an hour after posting that this charge would be removed. Updating to 2 stars as Spencer was very nice about this. The ordeal was still a lot to deal with so not a total turn around to 5 stars or anything. First off when my u-box arrived I was not informed. At this time I would have scheduled a time to have it dropped off at my house to unload instead I got a call a day later that they were at my house with the box?? Umm what I wasn't available and wasn't sure I would have help to unload etc I didn't book this. Asked to book for a later date said I would get a call back. Was called following Friday today they would bring it then again not a day I scheduled finally scheduled for a more convenient Tuesday. Tuesday came around I was told the box would be dropped off after 9am it came at 5:30pm... After unloading the box it could not be picked up for return on Thursday 6/21 due to the driver being in a different part of town...no worries Friday then...truck broke down...box was picked up on Saturday 6/23 for return. I made sure the furniture pads were inside and there was no lock. Well on 6/27 I get an auto withdrawal for storage of $115 for my ubox which is empty and returned. I called this location they said they couldn't find any info not sure what that means. I'm forwarded to cx service and sit on hold for 45 min to be told a manager will call me in 24-72 hours to discuss...not even to resolve. Well it's been 4 days now and no call. I called cx service again today and was on hold for another 30 min just for the agent to be completely rude to me and I finally just had to hang up because I was just too upset. I'm guessing this will just end up with me out $115 due to them never returning your calls, leaving you on hold, and knowing nothing about customer service. I will never use U-Haul again!! read more

Tommy and the crew are fantastic! My husband and I came to Hemet to buy a home, but closing took far longer than we anticipated. When we returned our UHaul trailer to the State St. location we really didn't know what we would do. Tommy had the answer. We didn't realize a month's free storage came with the trailer we rented. We never thought to ask. But after hearing our story, Tommy suggested we simply take advantage of UHaul's free month storage. Voila! The answer to all our problems! Let me preface that I have been renting from U-Haul locations for over 20 years, hundreds of times, and even bought a few of their retired trucks. I will never rent from this location again as i have now had three straight bad experiences from this office. While they have a much larger selection of trucks available due to their size, you can receive much better service at some of the smaller locations around town that are genuinely looking to help customers. Don't be frightened away that these smaller locations have only 1 or 2 vehicles.....You'll be very surprised how well that they will treat you and work with you on renting & returning their vehicles. read more

My boyfriend rented a truck for a day went to turn in the truck but their systems were down. They asked him to return the next day to pay the balance. When they took his payment the next day they did not tell him there was a 40 cent difference still on the balance. They let him walk out with 40 cents left to pay. Then two weeks later they charge 42$ late fee. They are crooks and shady. They knew it would charge a late fee and instead of being a honest business they took the money and have the nerve to say there's nothing they can do. . If you do decide to give them your business make sure you triple check everything before you leave because they will not. read more

We were recommended this location by Home Depot when their rental truck was being serviced and was unavailable. We walked in and were immediately greeted and serviced by two employees. We got the last pickup truck and found out it was only $20 for the entire day, with a 69 cents per mile charge. Since we only drove about 6 miles, it only cost $31 after adding back a gallon of gas. Poor Customer Service and Incompetence is what you will find at this U-Haul. Made a purchase and appointment for a trailer hitch installation online. The installation was scheduled for 9 days later. 7 days before the appointment I stopped by to double check the time for it (it was not specified online). I was told by Debi (counter employee) that the part was not ordered because I had not payed for it. I informed her that the part was paid for when it was purchased online and the appointment was made. She then apologized and said "I'm glad you came in, I didn't see that and your part wouldn't have arrived for your installation", she assured me it was ordered and that I would get a call if anything changed on the appointment time (9:00am was what she had told me). I showed up on the day of the appointment to find out the part was back ordered and would not be available, when I asked why I didn't receive a call, she said "I wan't here yesterday" even though the item was marked as back ordered several days ago. Debi's solution was for me to drive 44 miles away to get the part...REALLY? I asked her why would't she have someone go get the part and bring it back to install it, she replied "I don't have someone to do that". Needless to say, poor customer service is the least of this business problem, the incompetence displayed by the employee needs to be corrected and better training needs to be implemented. read more

This place will penny pinch you until your dry. Today, I rented a uhaul from them with 3/16ths of a tank leaving me eligible for a gas voucher. After my round trip drive, I filled the tank up to 1/4 ( the orange gas gage was on the white line) just ask they asked me to. When I asked about redeeming the gas voucher, I was told. "Because the gage was not perfectly center on the line, it voided the gas voucher"... So after working all day I wasn't going to give this company another moment of my time.
