Still have not heard from the company, I have sent everything to the email that reached out to me. The owner refuses to acknowledge the lie of a scenario the office manager created out of thin air. The final bill is not over $500. Another lie but this time from the "owner". The final bill is $489 I've removed their equipment from my tank and emailed them to come pick it up. I was referred to SoCal propane through yelp. They responded quickly to work out a deal, but I could not wait and ended up purchasing propane at another business. So Cal propane was quick to respond and was easy to work with an understood my predicament. If I hadn't been in a hurry, I probably would'vecompleted the transaction with them. read more

Terrible company and poorly poorly ran. I have been forced into being a customer since I purchased my home several years ago given this was the propane tank I inherited. After moving back into my home after a tenant caused much damage, I let them know, attempted to pay my bill right away and moved on assuming it went through. They attempted to continue to contact my former tenant knowing I confirmed I moved back in, let that former tenant know many times via email and phone that for some reason the payment did not come through, never reached out to me and then came and turned off my service without a warning then told me what a deal I was getting to get it turned back on. They told me it was so confusing having a former tenant and an owner on the same address, as though this is rocket science. Friendly or not, this business is ran very poorly. The most positive and pleasant experience I have had with a propane company. From our first inquiry to our inspection and fill (we own our tank), it was about four days. Office staff answered all of our questions, and quoted us an incredibly reasonable price. The driver called ahead to make sure we were home for the first delivery, which required a safety check. He went out of his way to explain everything about our tank, things to watch out for, and how to handle various emergencies. Absolutely horrible customer service. owner Amanda got upset when we dared to question the amount of propane put in our tank.( we are new to propane use). she sent us an email telling us she no longer wanted us as clients. She requested we return their tank we were leasing. with only a few weeks notice to empty the tank and have it ready for pick up, we had 7 months left on our lease. She said we would be refunded the months remaining when tank was picked up. after numerous emails and phone calls we received an email today stating she is showing a balance on our account for pick up fees. WHAT! I have no words for the terrible way they treat clients. save yourself a lot of frustration and do not use So Cal Propane Hemet office. read more

I changed propane companies a couple years back due to extreme fluctuations in rates. At times this company would have unaffordable rates that forced hard decisions just to stay warm. I switched over to SoCal propane and have only experienced professional service and they make it a point to provide quick fill service when your tank gets low. Their rates are much more steady and never have I had to make a tough decision to stay warm. They also offer discounts to first responders. read more

Unfortunately, our experience at SoCal Propane has become a serious issue that may require legal action. I strongly recommend avoiding this service if you have other options. I ordered a service on 10/3 that could not be performed. I was told a book keeper was away and would process my return on 10/13. When I followed up 10/13, they told me other orders were ahead of mine and it for sure would be processed on 10/16. When I followed up on 10/17, they still had not processed my return and told me the book keeper was going to be in late that day. I cannot believe that I am now in a predicament where I believe my money is being intentionally withheld from being returned to me. I had no idea that some businesses operate this way. I have also experienced financial loss due to interest because the amount was not returned to my credit card within a reasonable timeframe. It's been 2 weeks and still no return, and no confirmation no matter how many times I call and request they follow through on their end. To avoid having your money be treated like it means nothing, go somewhere else. read more

I've been a customer at SoCal Propane for almost 4 years. when I bought my house, the propane tank on the property was SoCal's, and the previous owners had only good things to say about them so we kept it and signed on with SoCal as our propane provider. (Propane is an essential utility for us as it controls our heat, hot water and cooking gas.) It's easy to get SoCal on the phone, and their customer service is very good. They deliver when they say they will and they always email back promptly whenever I need to contact them. They periodically have special deals on propane which customers are able to take advantage of. I have never had an issue with my deliveries regardless of the weather (and I live up in Idyllwild where it is snowing several months out of the year..). I believe their prices are competitive. I would definitely recommend SoCal to anyone looking to change their propane provider. read more

Garbage. These folks charge ridiculous PRICE GOUGING monthly fees: HAZMAT/OPS fee $15.00. Meter read fee: $14.99. So no matter what you do. You will pay this monthly $29.99. In addition to the propane you use. My actual bill for propane is less than $15. And my bill is regularly about $50. This is not worth it. They are doing this to all the poor folks up here in the mountains. I live in a place where I share the propane tank. So they are charging several people the same fee to look at meters and to fill a single tank. This is not honest or honorable. The fact this could happen in America. Means THESE TRAITORS HAVE A LOT OF CONFEDERATES. My people deserve better. read more

Poorly managed company, I would go anywhere else but here. I have worked for over 3 months to get a tank only to have three no-shows, no call backs and tons of excuses. I would give them a huge ZERO in customer service, a ZERO in communication and a ZERO in all around business practices. This company is very unprofessional. After trying to lead us to believe a $600 dollar gas bill was normal for a small two bedroom one story house we finally got them to schedule a leak test. Here a technician said the previous technician read the meter wrong and we should expect a call the following day to clarify the matter. After not hearing anything for two days, I finally called back only to hear that this technician was "wrong". I let the lady know if this is very unprofessional and disappointing and I would be switching my business, they said we could not because our landlord would need to switch the meter out, holding us hostage to their service. So after trying to to get to the bottom of the issue between lying office works, inexperienced technicians, and unprofessional managers I strongly say I'm displeased with this company and will never use them again if I am able. read more

Shady business practices! They will screw you out of your deposit! Don't expect to get your $200 back. I just moved out and they said it would cost me $100 for them to send a technician out to do a meter read. I didn't schedule for a technician to come and decided to wait and let the next tenant move in and set up an account to avoid paying for the meter read. SO Cal decided to go ahead and schedule for a technician to come anyways and charged me the $100 without my authorization. I am only getting $60 back from my original $200. Not cool. I became a customer of SoCal Propane when they were first getting into business, and at the time their prices and customer service, both on the phone and in the field were outstanding. Every customer was treated like a person, not a revenue source. In the last year or so, since they apparently became quite successful, I'm now just a revenue source as I would be with any other large successful company that values profits over people. What I am is a senior citizen receiving Social Security as my only guaranteed income. My wife died unexpectedly 14 months ago, and since then I have been struggling to make ends meet. SoCal Propane will be coming to pick up their tank in the next couple days as I am unable to pay the tank rental at this time, along with the 2 months late charges which are more than the tank rental. They were not willing to work with me on some sort of payment plan. However, the young woman on the phone who told me that was extremely chipper and cheery, and wished me a good day. read more
