I tried on a bunch of jackets and pants--shoutout to London at the fitting rooms, who was lovely! I initially left with a total of $381.58. But later, I noticed a couple of discrepancies: the jacket's discount was miscalculated and the pants were mislabeled as XS when they were actually smalls. After some research, I found the items for less on Amazon, so we called Hansens. My fiancé spoke with them, and they were willing to price match. Enter Patty, the awesome manager! Patty was incredibly kind and helpful--she matched the Amazon price and gave me a partial refund right on the existing order. I didn't even have to drive back to Encinitas or hassle with a return. Thanks to Patty Bolton and the team, everything was made right--and I'd absolutely recommend Hansens to anyone! 5 stars

Ive gotten a few comments about the board color. In fact, while in Carlsbad, I had a guy yell over to me, "Degree33 huh!" I guess he was headed there the next day to pick one up. Glad he wasn't yelling at me for ganking his wave:-) And, as for the Company itself, its filled with great employees who know what their talking about. Its not filled with a bunch of 16-18 year old's who know nothing about customer service. I went to 3 different surf shops from Oceanside to Encinitas. Young stoner kids wondering around saying "wazzup"; but no, "can I help you with anything". All three places were the same. Once at Degree33, was greeted instantly with a mature young kid, "good afternoon sir, welcome to Degree33. What are you looking for today?". And there you go. Basic (and lost) art of customer service. We chatted for 20 minutes and he listened the whole time...narrowing down exactly what I want and need. And the selections were insane. In fact, I told one of my buddy's, who moved out of state, about this place. He went online and bought a board and had it shipped to me for when he visits next. The cashier was friendly and I was on my way. When I arrived home I realized that I hadn't been given the correct discount on my purchase. I called and the same cashier answered the phone. I explained to him the discrepancy and he apologized saying, "my bad, just bring the receipt next time you come in and we will take care of it." I'm used to J Crew's usually great customer service so I didn't think about it. Fast forward a week, and I returned to the store. I walked around the store and shopped a little more. I tried on a few things that didn't work. As I was walking around I spotted a pair of shoes I really liked. I tried them on and decided I wanted them. They were marked down and in an area where there were additional mark down on sale item signs. When I got to the counter, I explained the situation with the previous cashier and the woman (Krystal) at the counter said to me it was not on further sale at that point and she stated the day that sale started. I pointed out to her that that was the day that I was there and it was on my receipt. She begrudgingly agreed acting like I was in the wrong. She then rang up the shoes which came up as a higher price than originally marked. When I questioned her about this, she said they were not on sale. I had to physically show her where the basket was that had the shoes in it and she still did not want to give me the sale price. There were multiple shoes in that basket, including another pair of the ones that I got. It was one of the strangest most disappointing interactions I have ever had in a retail store. It felt accusatory, as if I was trying to pull a fast one. I'm not sure what the issue was, but I won't be in again anytime soon. If I do decide to return, I will throughly check my receipt before I leave and you should too
