Huge selection for women. A lot of surf shops imo really don't have squat for women and they have a ton. I got a dress, top, a few bottoms, a one piece cut out long sleeve suit, got my daughter some matching reef shoes. It was nice to be able to have a lot to choose from. The workers were cool but younger and a little ditzy but I guess that's to be expected. read more

Love these guys. I don't surf. I visit southern CA every year for Christmas and stop in at the place next door for fish and chips and then to Offshore to buy a shirt or 2. Over the last 15 years I have over 20 t-shirts, hoodies etc. Every year they try to create a new design for their t-shirts and they're great! read more

The rates for renting here are pretty good as it's $5 an hour for a wetsuit and $10 an hour for a surf board! $60 total for a whole day! The man working the shop was a really nice, easy-going guy who helped me and my buddies rent out gear at a killer time! In the end, he even gave us a discount! Great place! read more

We stopped at their shop to rent 2 boogie boards and visit the beach. Very friendly staff and great rental rates. Easy to find location and they have parking right there if you just need to pick up and go to another beach. I definitely recommend checking them out. read more

There's a reason Offshore Surf Shop has been around since the 70s and continues to exist. This place has the nicest most knowledgeable surf shop employees ever. Not the typical "cool guy" attitudes common in larger surf shops. Josh and Scott own the place and both have a lifetime of surfing experience at locations around the world. Adjacent to the Harbor Fish Cafe this is a little surf shop catering to tourists. Modest in size and what's available, you can definitely find enough here to at least get you in the water. They offer surf lesions all year round and board rentals. You can even buy used boards with okay prices and some cool surf clothes for out of the water. read more

Been coming to this shop to buy shirts and other apparel when we come every March for the past 30 years now. Great shop and staff. Today I bought surf lessons for my daughter. This place is super cute but the guy at the front acted like I was completely putting him out by walking in his shop. He was so short and abrasive that I asked my wife to leave and stop shopping because it appeared that he was WAY too good for our business. Shame. Because it's a beautiful spot. read more

In town for a wedding so we didn't have much time. We rented boards and wetsuits. The guy was super friendly and seemed to enjoy his job. He got us in and out and even pointed us to the best potential surf spots during high tide. Check this place out next time you are in Carlsbad. read more

I was only in town for the night, since I had a work appointment the next morning. I wanted to squeeze in some quick surfing before dark. The associate warned me about high tide, but still hooked me up with the right equipment when I made it clear I was willing to endure the beating for the opportunity to surf. I later asked the associate for advice on local places to try for dinner, and (even though it was closing time) he took the time to provide directions to some good spots. If I'm ever back in town I'll definitely come back! read more

This is a great shop with a nice guy running it. This is the closest rental/shop to the beach.

The employees were super-friendly and knowledgeable, but the location for surfing lessons was not good. Having surfed a few times before, we had some experience so should have been able to ride the waves. But the location isn't good for waves, and the employees seemed to know that. So, all said and done, nice people, not a good surfing location. read more

Totally friendly and helpful for rentals of 6 wetsuits and 6 surfboards. Right in the beach for easy access to surf. Parking lot right beside store, go early if you need a spot though!! Highly recommend!!! read more
