Uneven side of bob cut with big chunk of shorter hair that isn't texturized well.

I got such a terrible cut by Kathy I felt the need to write a review. I decided to try Two01 because of its high reviews and asked Kathy for a bob cut that hit my collar bone and had texture. She curled my hair at the end so I left happy with the cut (unable to see any unevenness). After I washed and dried my hair the next day, I noticed there was a huge chunk of shorter hair on my right side that didn't blend well at all. Other people who saw me also noticed it immediately. I called the salon to let them know and I definitely did not feel Kathy was happy with the feedback. I went back in for her to fix it and she said that it was "heavier on that side" since my hair was parted that way. However she originally cut it with my hair parted exactly that way and that didn't explain why there were huge chunks of shorter hair. She tried to texturized it some more so it blended better. Although it helped a little, it still clearly has shorter chunks of hair on the right side. And now I have to have this awful haircut for at least four weeks before I can get it fixed.

Attention, Great Lengths Addicts - Yes, your hair can grow with extensions if they're done correctly. See Kristen's magic after only a year and a half! I can't believe how much my hair has grown, not to mention the vast color improvement and what great shape it's in. A fantastic salon with a laid back vibe - I'll never go anywhere else and neither should you.

    Hair before Two01

I've been living in Hoboken for a little over a year and finally needed to make a color appointment at a salon here. I chose Two01 based on the awesome reviews and I'm so glad I did. I got a single process color from Ecstacy and she absolutely NAILED the color. I wanted to go for a rich chocolate brown and I'm obsessed with what she did. The included blow out and styling after was fantastic as well! All this for $85 which IMO is totally reasonable and well priced. The salon itself is small, only 3 chairs, which allows for a really friendly environment. I love my hair & I highly recommend trying this salon! Photos show my hair before and then two after color.

    Natural lighting, envy it!! Lol

First of all let's talk about hair porn with the picture! Accomplished hair goals done by Kathy! I have been looking for someone to go to in Hoboken for the past 4 years working in town it's hard to decipher because there is sooo many hair salons to choose from. Im very visual with portfolios and when I took a look at their IG account I knew I wanted to immediately get my hair done from them. My balyage has revived!!! Kathy took her time in to what my hair texture is and also know how naturally dark I am and knew her magic from start. Book your appointment if your willing to be taken well care of and understand that it's not just a slap of bleach and your out the door. Trust the process, and trust your colorist ;)

1 day post coloring - washed and styles by me. If you didn't know, you'd probably think the highlights were from the sun :-)

For anyone with curly or wavy hair, I would describe the service here as very hit-or-miss when it comes to curly hair. My most recent appointment was especially disappointing. **Haircut** I booked with Michael Bergela, a master stylist, for what was supposed to be a simple trim. Instead, he cut my hair significantly shorter than I requested. This is the shortest my hair has ever been in my life, and I left feeling extremely insecure because short hair is not a look I feel comfortable with. I had clearly expressed that I prefer to keep my length. When I raised my concerns, I was essentially told to go back to the stylist who had previously cut my hair because there was nothing he could do. That response was frustrating considering I had just paid almost $500 and was leaving extremely unhappy with the result. We started with my hair completely wet, which made me nervous, but I tried to trust the process. I asked for my bangs to be blended a little more, and somehow that resulted in a substantial amount of length being removed from the rest of my hair. At the very least, I would have appreciated a warning that this was going to happen. I have seen plenty of people with long hair and bangs, so I still do not understand why so much length needed to be removed. I came in with length that stopped middle of my back and left with shoulder length. **Hair Color** Frank handled my color service. I intentionally wait a long time between appointments to minimize damage, meaning he was working with a significant amount of virgin hair. I explained exactly what I wanted, but after the color was completed and I was sent to be shampooed, Frank left before even seeing the final result or asking whether I was happy with it. I had been in the salon from around 11:00 a.m. until nearly 6:00 p.m., and after all that time, I was disappointed to see noticeable damage and a balayage that looked much thicker and less blended than I had requested. **Styling** Fiona did the initial styling. I have 2C/3A wavy-curly hair, which is not an especially difficult curl pattern to work with. However, my hair was left extremely frizzy with almost no curl definition. It honestly looked like I had rolled out of bed. After spending almost $500, I should not leave feeling like I could have achieved a better result at home. I expressed my concerns to Fiona and specifically pointed out the frizz and lack of curl definition, but she made no effort to correct it and simply LEFT AS WELL. By this point, the salon was nearly empty because most of the stylists had already gone home. It felt like the focus was no longer on providing good service but on getting me out the door. A second person, who I believe may have been an intern or assistant attempted to style my hair. She seemed very nervous, and I genuinely tried to be patient and kind. In fact, I found myself guiding everything how to style wavy/curly hair because I wanted to leave with my hair looking presentable. Michael even handed her a brush that was completely inappropriate for curly hair styling. I really just wanted to take over so I can leave already at this point. I am sharing this experience so that other curly-haired clients can make an informed decision. My most recent appointment left me with hair that was shorter than requested, more damaged than expected, poorly styled, and left me feeling far less confident than when I walked in but the issue wasn't just the hair itself, but how the staff handled my concerns. Instead of anyone taking the time to address my dissatisfaction or attempting to make things right, each person simply left, said there's nothing they can do and to go back to the person that previously cut my hair. I am not the type of person to leave negative reviews but I paid good amount of money and felt very insecure of my hair for days. Hoping I would get used to it but I'm just waiting for my hair to grow back now and doing a lot of hair masks.

I booked "The Works" at Bloom because it had great reviews and was an easy walk from my hotel. For about $100, Jorge put a mask on my hair to smooth it all out, gave me a blowout, and then flatiron curled it. My hair was smooth, curly, and glossy. It looked perfect. One of the first compliments I received when my friend saw me was that he really liked my hair. Jorge came to the rescue. It was well worth the money. The staff was really friendly and the spa modern. I do wish I could add a tip with my card, but I could at least tip him by using Venmo.

White Hart first attracted me because of James. I used to visit James when he was at Sally Hershberger for cuts and keratin, but then when he moved over to a different salon, I stopped going to see him (not because of James, but rather because I found the front desk staff and assistants very rude there and it was impossible to get an appointment). When I heard that James had opened his own salon, I was thrilled. I was able to book an appointment with ease through their easy to use system. White Hart is conveniently located in on 22nd off the A,C,E 23rd street stop. The salon is in the basement but well marked so easy to find and because it isnt right on the street, I found the salon to be quiet - it almost felt a little spa like. Another bonus is that they use R&Co products which I love and unlike some keratin products, the keratin they put on my hair could be washed that same day (although I waited 24 hours). The salon has great sonos speakers and since I was the first appointment of the day, James let me choose the playlist. The best part is that there is a little garden so when I was done with my appointment, I sat outside and finished my coffee and sent some emails. It has been a week and I am very happy with my keratin and cut and have received several compliments. I plan to come back for keratin and also blowouts and cuts.

I came in with a clear reference photo for a soft, lived-in balayage with a blended root melt. Instead, the stylist used foils throughout my entire head and lifted the highlights directly to the root with no blending or root melt. There are a ton of blotches left all over my head where I left the salon with my hair looking worse than my arrival. The result looks very stripey, especially at the part line and around the face, and is quite different from the soft, dimensional balayage I requested. There was no gradual transition from root to blonde like in the inspiration photo I showed during the consultation. I understand that color results can vary slightly, but this felt more like a completely different technique than what I asked for. For a salon that positions itself as high-end, I expected more attention to blending and placement. Unfortunately, I'm now going to need to have the color corrected elsewhere. I'm sharing this feedback so others seeking a lived-in balayage style know to be very clear about the technique used during their appointment which I thought I did this as I used to be a stylist myself but I still ended up with the worst hair color results I have ever had. I reached out to customer service and since this is an independent salon they could not help me. I don't feel comfortable having these people fix my hair.
