When I first came to him, my hair was 50 shades of orange, but he has done a great job getting me to my color goal. Also, they serve you yummy drinks and the owner Christine is a sweetheart. The vibes are immaculate!

Only my mom could complain about it to such an extent that I took it seriously. Finally, I texted Pam and she *offered to fix it.* What's wrong with that? I'm fussy curly girl and I've asked for a lot of haircut revisions in my life. Not once has a stylist offered to fix it months later. She probably knew that she did something wrong. Today, I went to Great Clips and it no longer looks terrible. The salon is right by the Hoboken PATH train station. I'm sure Pam will be fine. Edit on 9/7/26 -- Pam texted me a response but seemingly decided not to respond on Yelp. Don't use texturizing shears on curls, folks. Seems like a no-brainer but not for Pam.

This review is for Emmi!!!…read more Did I follow Emmi from her previous salon in Brooklyn? YES. Will I follow her wherever she goes - no matter the borough? YES. I've been seeing Emmi for over 3 years, during which she's helped me live out all my hair dreams. Emmi has transformed my hair from short ash blonde and seamless balayages, to healthy, long hair (blonde Christine from 5 years ago never could have fathomed this). I low-key wish I wasn't going for a more natural vibe, so that I'd have an excuse to see Emmi more often. I can't rave about Emmi enough. Aside from being an amazing colorist and stylist, she's incredibly professional, down-to-earth, and fun to spend time with. She's everything you love about the West Coast, packaged into the perfect stylist in the best city in the world. Emmi and My Darling Ivy are also taking extra precautions due to Covid. Customers were spaced out and masked up, and I felt safe and comfortable the entire time. This pandemic has everyone in need of some extra help with self-care, so do yourself a favor and run, don't walk, to Emmi! She'll have you feeling like your best self in no time :)

I've been seeing Charles Wan for the past two years, and he has completely transformed my hair into…read moreexactly what I've always wanted! What sets Charles apart is how much he genuinely cares about the health of your hair. It's so hard to find a stylist who prioritizes maintaining healthy hair over trying to sell you additional services. Before finding Charles, I saw several different hairstylists throughout the city, but none of them cared about the long-term health of my hair the way he does. I've been coloring my hair for years, so I definitely don't have the healthiest hair to begin with. Charles understands my hair, knows exactly how it processes, and never rushes the coloring process. He takes his time with every step to make sure my hair stays healthy while still achieving the results I want. Over the years, he's earned my complete trust. I always value his recommendations because he truly understands my hair and always has its best interest in mind. I'm so happy I found my go-to stylist in the city. I absolutely love my hair every single time I walk out of Unfade x Muze! If you're looking for someone who is incredibly talented, patient, and genuinely invested in the health of your hair, go see Charles!!! you won't regret it!

I went in and they were able to service me very quickly. The vibe is very upscale and very nice. The staff was very kind and very helpful. Super grateful that they did a test but very sad that I was unable to do the color that I want. They did offer me to do like an ash brown, but that wasn't what I wanted unfortunately. They told me I could wait for it to grow out and then they can't fix it up and do the color that I want. I will definitely be revisiting the salon since the service is so good and they are so kind.

Since it was my first visit, they created my account on the spot and made the whole process smooth. I went for a layered haircut to shorten my hair a bit. I showed the stylist a reference picture, and she completely understood the look I wanted. The session started with a nice hair wash, followed by the cut and blow-dry. The stylist did a great job -- my hair feels light, fresh, and styled just how I envisioned. They also offered tea, coffee, or other drinks as a kind gesture, which I really appreciated. The entire service took about 45 minutes on a Sunday, and I walked out happy with the result. The total cost came to $99 including tax, which felt a bit pricey to me for a haircut. However, the experience and quality were good enough that I'd consider going back -- hopefully when they have some offers for their regular clients!

White Hart first attracted me because of James. I used to visit James when he was at Sally Hershberger for cuts and keratin, but then when he moved over to a different salon, I stopped going to see him (not because of James, but rather because I found the front desk staff and assistants very rude there and it was impossible to get an appointment). When I heard that James had opened his own salon, I was thrilled. I was able to book an appointment with ease through their easy to use system. White Hart is conveniently located in on 22nd off the A,C,E 23rd street stop. The salon is in the basement but well marked so easy to find and because it isnt right on the street, I found the salon to be quiet - it almost felt a little spa like. Another bonus is that they use R&Co products which I love and unlike some keratin products, the keratin they put on my hair could be washed that same day (although I waited 24 hours). The salon has great sonos speakers and since I was the first appointment of the day, James let me choose the playlist. The best part is that there is a little garden so when I was done with my appointment, I sat outside and finished my coffee and sent some emails. It has been a week and I am very happy with my keratin and cut and have received several compliments. I plan to come back for keratin and also blowouts and cuts.
