Flying into town, I got off the plane with inexplicably big, frizzy hair. Meeting up with a friend later for drinks, I knew I needed help. I booked "The Works" at Bloom because it had great reviews and was an easy walk from my hotel. For about $100, Jorge put a mask on my hair to smooth it all out, gave me a blowout, and then flatiron curled it. My hair was smooth, curly, and glossy. It looked perfect. One of the first compliments I received when my friend saw me was that he really liked my hair. Jorge came to the rescue. It was well worth the money. Been meaning to write this review for months because this salon absolutely deserves this (+ I never write reviews) but I'd been looking for someone to help get my hair color and cut right for years in the city (with no luck) and finally found my place and person! Mark was incredible and not only guided me through what color was best for me (after I was ready to go brown again from being so frustrated with years of unhealthy hair from previous bad dyes), but brought my hair to the healthiest and best looking it's been while showing me that I can actually keep the blonde. This is a review of an apprentice cut with Fiona. It was average. She cut off teo inches, which I approved of c but then failed to match my layers around my face with those she had made. She doesn't know how to dry curly hair. She's never heard of plopping and told me my hair would be curlier shorter than longer. I showed her a picture showing how wrong this was. She was shocked. She said I came in with a slight wave. Of course I did. My instructions told me to come in with our product and st least a day dirty. Wavy hair girls have a hard time holding on to curl. This is common. She didn't understand plopping, which is everywhere in the curly spectrum universe and dried my hair so it barely had a wave. I won't return. Getting wavy hair curly is more than doable and if I and places like Ouidad can do it, Bloom needs to get with the program. Not a horrible haircut, but I regret going there. Since posting this review, the owner has kindly reached out to me and apologized. She's also offered to make things right, with a complimentary haircut. That says a lot about a salon and I'm hoping my redo reflects that level of care and professionalism. read more

She's not only a great hairstylist but also a great teacher -- she's taught me so much about how to best style and manage my hair.
