Only taking a star because of the pricing - this location is near the Rockefeller Center. It's really easy to get to as it's right across the subway stop and on the second floor of their walk up. Showed me where I had some growth and how my brows lined up. When I asked about eyebrow tinting, she suggested I try an eyebrow pencil first. She didn't force any additional services on me. Eyebrow threading is $10, which isn't bad for a midtown location. In the heart of the diamond district, it is located on the second floor of a walk up building. Avoid at all costs- careless tech- she didn't test the temperature of the wax and put it immediately on. She did it in a sloppy fashion that she got wax even near my chin. She ripped off the strip and it was still stuck on my face (the strip didn't come off completely, so she put more wax on another strip to try to get the first strip off). They should be ashamed to charge you for injuries like this. Had to put on burn cream. Have two weddings in the next two weekends. Save yourself and go somewhere where they take care to not do this. read more

My friends swear by this place and won't go anywhere else to get their eyebrows done. Pretty small space on the second floor and about 4-5 seats but gets the job done. People were in and out within 5-10minutes. The threaders were super nice and listened to each of her needs and let her check in the mirror how it looked before moving on. So if you want more of an arch or it to be less thick or wide speak up! They'll help shape it the way you like or provide suggestions. Cut/trim and cleaned up nicely. I was happy to have mine mapped out, more so than the threading I had done on my eyebrows because I'm not one who can tolerate the pain of that. The technician was patient enough to give me breaks when I felt the pain became unbearable. There's places like threading easy inc which do mapping and shaping at a cost of $5. I agree with other reviews that they basically rush while during your brows...Prices are ridiculous. I had been here. afew times years ago for a quick cheap eyebrow cleaning. I wanted to finally have someone methodically look after my brows and saw how high the reviews were so decided to splurge on the eyebrow mapping. However, the salon is no where near as clean and tidy as the reviews state and the mapping really didn't do anything. It felt like there was a lot of posturing to seem like she was analyzing my brows but no real analysis. Then the threading was SO fast, but when I got home I noticed a lot of blonde but present hairs still remaining. So I'm not sure how the reviews are SO positive, but maybe I just got a bad off day. And it basically took 10 minutes start to finish with little difference from regular threading, albeit sloppy regular threading. read more

I typically always get eyebrow and facial threading done at Himalayan however I opted for a facial today. I will say I was reluctant about a facial where I get my eyebrows done but the price was so reasonable that there wasn't much to lose. For a facial you sit separate from the customers getting waxing services. The area is closed off with a curtain, the lights are dimmed and you are instantly transformed to a relaxing safe space for your facial. I was given a covering so I could remove the top half of my dress, so dress appropriately when getting a facial. My face was massaged, basted like a honey glazed ham with some products that gave me a cooling, soothing feeling. Black heads around my nose were gently removed. The facial was done by Sadia and took about an hour. I would have preferred to have some type of moisturizing product after the facial was completed. I had to go back to work with slightly dry skin in 40degree weather. An African American's person worst nightmare, ashy skin. My skin was soft and felt invigorated when I left. I would definitely try the facial service again. read more

The same quality of work isn't with all the ladies there. It seems there is one preferred lady over others. The wait time is insane so I do not suggest coming on your lunch or before work. You'll be late. They do not take appointments for eyebrows it's a walk-in even though I prefer one person to do mine. She's become very popular and booked. Therefore, a small service as eyebrows seems irrelevant now. I'm saddened because I hate to find a new spot but it seems like the joy, peace and love I received here no longer exists. I've gone to several threading locations in the past 7 years and this salon is by far the best place I've been to hands down. I've had some bad luck with inconsistent threading, good one week, too thin the next - followed by uncomfortable growth stages just to go to another salon that threads my eye brows too thin or not symmetrical. My first visit was with Noshi and we did the brow mapping. She was patient, extremely clear with her instruction, explained the process thoroughly and the specific areas of improvement necessary for my eye brows to finally grow in thick but sharp with a symmetrical shape. I just came back a month later for my second visit with her for a clean up and my eye brows look the best they have ever looked. Noshi is in the salon Wednesdays and Thursdays. My wife gets her brows shaped with henna by Sukhi and she's hooked as well. I highly recommend Himalayan Salon. It's clean, neat, and all of the staff is professional and welcoming. read more

Sonam!!!! She is truly an eyebrow goddess !! About 6 weeks ago I went to a place that shall not be named, and my eyebrows were FCkED UP! I was so sad. I usually go to this place every once in a while, but it's so out the way for me because I live in the bronx and go to school in buffalo. I must admit this is worth the trip. I went in around 615 pm and there was surprisingly no one there. That did not last long, shortly after 5 other women came in. I sat in Sonam's chair and told her I wanted my brows shaped. She explained she could not because of what the woman messed up before ( I had a patch missing :( she cleaned up my brows up nicely and they now look like sisters! They used to look like 2nd cousins lol I really appreciate she took the time to speak to me and ask me what she wanted. In addition to the excellent customer service, my eyebrows were on FLEEK !! I'm so so so happy that I came back here !!! A part of me wanted to not leave a review and leave this as a true hidden gem- but ladies and gents you must now of the exCellent work they do here at such a reasonable price. I hate to write negative reviews about small or family businesses (idk if they actually are a family business but they seem like it) but do NOT get a Brazilian Wax here. They started by giving me one word answers to sit and wait. The place was completely empty with 3 employees doing nothing and they still told me to sit and wait while I watched them have a conversation with each other in another language. Not even a hint of trying to be polite or nice. My Brazilian Wax took under 10 minutes. It was the worst most painful Brazilian of my life. Firstly, she ignored my instructions and removed my landing strip, so that was extremely annoying. She waxed off enormous sections of hair at a time in such a rough manner that now my genitals are covered in bumps and broken hairs. She never went back in with a tweezer to fix it, so there are long stray hairs around my V lips because she didn't bother to spread and check. That woman seriously needs to go to Waxing school. And she really left wax all over my skin and made a very weak attempt to remove it. To finish, she aggressively squirted a ton of baby oil on me and turned around to clean her station. And no, she didn't leave me alone to give me privacy. She kept turning around to see if I was done yet, glancing at me as I stood there with no shoes on their dirty floor, butt naked rubbing baby oil around my bum hole. Like, wtf? I don't understand why she didn't just leave the room and close the door. What was the rush that she just HAD to clean her station so quickly? It's not like there was anyone else in the salon. A very unpleasant experience that also got a bit strange at the end. read more

I have been a consecutive client for a few years now and always walked away content with the service provided. However, today I left in almost tears. It may be the person I got but I expressed my concern and she cut off even more hair! This is the first time in my life I've had to walk to a Sephora to fill in my eyebrows due to someone doing a terrible job.
