I gave this review time hoping that maybe my Brazilian's final look would justify the poor service I have received here, but it has not. it has gotten worse in fact. The waxer was extremely rude which did not make me feel comfortable at all, shushed me when she began doing my legs (which I had not asked for), and overall left my area bloody with patches of hair and dried wax still remaining. One month later and the hair is growing back visibly uneven with bald patches in some places while the rest of the area continues to grow as usual. I'm sure the other services aren't nearly as bad, or maybe I just caught this employee on a bad day, but if you're going in for a wax of any kind, there are much better places who provide better services. read more

First of all, Usha and the ladies here are the best. This is my go-to place for a no-nonsense Brazilian. I have not tried their threading, other waxing, or facial services, but I always see another customer in here getting their brows done. Threading services start at an AMAZING low of $3 for the under lip. It is $10 for brows and $30 for the whole face. Waxing starts at $10 and a Brazilian is listed as $40 but they almost always have a good deal or package going on. (They have a Valentine's day package special going on right now where essentially you pay $25 for each Brazilian!!) I initially found this place through Groupon and after coming back for 2 more Brazilians, I am happy to say that I will be a forever-returning customer. The staff here are consistently nice and professional which is very important to me. With my previous experiences at other salons using Groupons, they tend to hike up their listed prices and ask for a 25% tip so essentially you are almost paying as much as the Groupon you bought it for. However, My Brows is a no-pressure place. They never demand a specific percentage, but because of the friendly environment and service, I always end up tipping the staff here generously. This is not the most sparkling clean establishment, but it does the job for a great price. I personally have never gotten an infection or burn from here. My skin is a little sore and red after waxing, but this is to be expected. It usually is fine after 24 hours. read more

A very small beauty salon with two tiny treatment rooms and 3 make up chairs. When I walked in there were two ladies already waiting so I had to wait 30 minutes for waxing (even though I had an appointment). It is really first come first served. I haven't seen better prices for waxing in the area, so this place is pretty great in that regard. One of the treatment rooms does not have doors, just sliding curtains. Although the area is very small and cramped, they have a lot of clients that just come and go. It is not a fancy place but does get the job done. The aesthetician does not double dip and uses wax in a little plastic disposable 1 time use cup. She got most of the hairs out in under 20 minutes for two body areas which is pretty fast. The chocolate wax seems to be a little more painful than hard wax and blue wax, but it smells good. Great service for waxing overall. read more

first time going to the location on madison the ladies were very nice but i probably won't go back. i had wax still left on my legs and butt (also some in my feet which is confusing since i didn't wax my feet) also there's still hair on my legs which obviously is disappointing. i prefer the location on 33rd and lexington- much more thorough there. read more

DO NOT GO HERE TO GET YOUR BROWS DONE!! My service was so horrible I had to write a review. First of all, I came in with a unibrow and left out with one. The inexperienced lady made me hold my own eyebrow up while she threads it, didn't even thread it correctly, and left so many stray hairs. She got the wax stuck in my eyelash, and aggressively massaged aloe Vera into my temples and brows just to wipe it off (aren't you supposed to leave the aloe on???) Never coming back again. I'm so upset I could've had my eyebrows cute, but instead I'm stuck here infuriated about a mediocre job done by someone who lacks experience. If she did have experience, I think she needs wayyyy more practice before touching PEOPLE. read more

I would not come here again, and my job is up the block. I went in here with a Groupon during the day after making an appointment on their site, the location is your standard NYC brow place, not clean but not alarmingly dirty, but the Brazilian is not worth it. This woman has either never done a Brazilian before or just hates hates her job. After her pulling my hair (and potentially skin) out for a good 20 minutes, she clumsily knocked over the curtain and made me wait for her to hang it back up. I also just checked and I'm bleeding in multiple areas, so I'll never return. There's also apparently a $2 "tax" to use the Groupon, which she told me about after redeeming the Groupon for me, so not sure how steadfast that is. All in all, there are thousands of places to get a cheap Brazilian in this city that won't make you bleed, so go with one of those instead. read more

I am not petty. I don't leave bad reviews like this. I always tip no matter what. But I have to share this experience so people avoid the mistake I did. I had booked a full leg and brazilian, I had purchased a full leg groupon. I was about 15 min late, I did call to let them know and see if they'd still take me, and they said no problem. But then, upon arrival, they had me wait a looong time. Like, I understand I was late, but the 15min I was late were let's say allocated for the brazilian, and then they should still see me as soon as they can again for the full leg service, and they would be back on track with the reservations and all (I worked at a hair removal salon, I did front desk so can't full me there!). But the lady who I booked with, Usha, had already taken someone else. And it's totally reasonable, I understand. She was doing her eyebrows. (the lady was a walk-in I assume) Once she finished her brows, she told her to go in the waxing room and wait for her. I was like wtf?! I will totally lose my spot now. I thought it was only going to be the brows. And then someone else walked in for brows, and Usha took her too!!! I've been already waiting for about 15 min, the lady she took while I was late was waiting for her for a wax too, and she takes a third walk-in client?!?!?! How money hungry are you?! So, I look worried, and she tries to tell me that in a min. the other specialist will do my waxing. I said "no, I booked with Usha (reviews recommended her), and isn't that you?!". So, because i was late 15 min, I waited more than half an hour because she took not 1, but 2 walk ins, while I was there already?!?!? No, that is not how you build clientele. Anyway, when we actually started my service, I realized I had made a mistake choosing that place. The room was small, but hey, NYC is a crowded city, I get it. But then, she kept bumping things over during my service. That's a hazard then! She indeed was not double-dipping as the website mentioned, but everything else was done wrong. The service table was dirty, not just with baby powder which I know you need for every waxing service, but with hairs from previous clients!!! When I turned on my belly for the rear part of the brazilian, boy was I terrified to see how dirty the table was! Not to mention the pain! Not once did she ask me if the wax was too hot! And for the legs, she used the wax tubes with the roll at the end (I was using that in high-school when I had no clue wtf I was doing), and she was pressing sooooo hard with it to get more wax out, I had small bruises on my upper thighs that evening! The specialist did not ask me to stay in any specific position, nor to hold anything; I asked her if she wants me to hold my tummy or cheeks if it would be easier for her. (again, I worked at a hair removal salon, I know how it should go, how it can be easier for both the the client and the specialist). Oh the pain! That was a constant during the service. She barely spoke to me. She should try and make people comfortable, make them forget about the pain by chatting. I started asking her some questions to distract myself and give her another chance so I could like the place a little. I asked if they did men services, or men below the belt -I was curious, as I know how few options there are for them- and her answer was mean, sexist, and racist. Wow! Really?! Now I couldn't wait to get out of there. And luckily that happened sooner than expected. She was very fast. Full leg with brazilian always takes 45 min on my body. She was done in 30 min. And as soon as I got home I realized why. There were soooo many hair patches left behind, and soo many hairs that were just ripped in half, not pulled out from the root. In the brazilian area I had to grab my tweezers to make it acceptable. But my legs, of boy, that was worse than my 15 year old me trying to act adult! I could not tell there was anything done on my upper legs; most of the hairs were still there. And the lower leg, patches and patches everywhere. And on my knees, where it's easy to spot hairs, a third of it was still there! 3 days later, I'm in a trip, wearing dresses and shorts and I realized I had a tremendous amount of hair again on my legs. Why? Because she didn't pull them from the root, she just broke them at the skin level. And now they grew back. Whenever I get a proper wax done, I don't have any hair for at least a week. Then it grows slowly and for another about 5 days I can still wear shorts. Now after 3 days I was embarrassed to wear shorts. And what I was even more embarrassed about was that I actually paid for this far-from-acceptable service. Never again! Save yourself the pain, the awkwardness, and the hair patches, put an extra $10 in and go somewhere else! read more

I went to My Brows today around 3 pm and there was no one there. I had purchased a groupon voucher for the Chocolate Brazilian wax and it was amazing. It was my first time getting one and so I told the woman who reassured me. I didn't get her name unfortunately but both women in the place seemed nice. The bed was clean, with a new drape over it (similar to the ones they use at the dentist's or doctor's office). I also didn't see them double dip. I felt comfortable around her and she was very patient with me. With the groupon voucher you do have to pay tax but it's very minimal. Omg I love this place. First of all, it's CLEAN and if you've been to a few threading places, you definitely get why this matters. It's a calm place--no blaring TV or people talking really loudly (and like I said, if you've been to a lot of threading places you KNOW what I mean). Usha is amazing and really experienced. She is really careful with her work and makes sure you have the absolute perfect eyebrow shape for your face. They'll thread and trim your brows and then apply a lotion after that feels really luxurious--like a facial. Definitely one of my fave threading places! The only reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 (or zero if there was an option), is because I don't want to chastise the whole business for the faults of one employee. Apparently a lot of people had a good Brazilian wax experience here. Not I unfortunately. The woman I got barely spoke English and looked like she had just learned waxing yesterday. Right before we start I tell her I don't want a full Brazilian and asked her to please leave a triangle landing strip (I even made a triangle shape with my hands and placed it over my pelvis to show her exactly where she SHOULDN'T touch). What's the first thing she does? Slather wax right down the middle of my crotch and yanks (OUCH). I explain to her AGAIN, leave. a. landing. strip. I end up with a squiggly line instead of a triangle or at the very least, a rectangle. Moving on. It's awkward the entire time because she doesn't speak English. I understand waxing in large sections is faster but some parts of the labia are too sensitive for that. What she was doing was so painful I begged her to do smaller sections. Still didn't listen. It's been 4 hours since my wax and I'm still in pain. Despite all this I came home and had to pluck out 50+ hairs because she didn't even do a clean job! Only good thing about this nightmare is that it only lasted 15 mins. read more
