Words cannot explain how impressed I am with My Brows. I found this place on Yelp on a whim a couple of months ago. At the time I worked in midtown Manhattan, and was desperate to find a place to get my eyebrows done. I'm usually skeptical of threading places as I have not always had the best experiences. My eyebrows are thick and I always ask to have them just SHAPED up. I walked in and was immediately greeted by the workers there. The lady that did my eyebrows the first time listened to me and checked in with me- showing me the mirror and making sure that I was satisfied. I have now made My Brows my go- to spot. The other day my friend asked me where I get my eyebrows done and realized it was the same place her other friend gets her lashes done! Clearly they're doing something right. read more

Usha is amazing. I am so glad I tried the eyebrow tinting, it really defined my brows and made them looks fuller but natural at the same time. She is very professional and gave me an excellent shape. I am sorry to have to leave such a bad review, I hesitated for a long time but when I had a closer look and saw the actual cuts on my eyelids, I had to write something as I do not want anyone else to experience this. The place I usually go to was closed, so I thought I would go here, based on the Yelp reviews. The woman who welcomed me seemed warm and friendly, but unfortunately the person who took 'care' of my brows and upper lip was simply brutal. When she was doing the left brow, I told her it hurts (and I have a pretty high tolerance to pain), I was litterally crying: the person did not care about it and just went on. The attached picture of my eyelid clearly shows that I was experiencing real pain as the skin shows some cuts. The overall experience was painful and rude, I just wanted to run away as soon as it started. Again, I wish I could write a positive review as I usually do, and I really hate to have to do this, partly because the woman who welcomed me seemed so kind: but it is the first time in my life I experience such a bad time having my brows and upper lip done and I sincerely hope things will improve at this salon. read more

EDITED: I want to note that the owner spoke to me over the phone after I wrote my original review and asked me to come in so she could treat my lip and give me hair growth serum for my eyebrow. She even went so far as to ask me where I live and offer to come to me for the treatment. For that, I'm adjusting my rating. -------------------------------- I'm incredibly disappointed by the threading job I had done here yesterday. My eyebrows are noticeably uneven and she took so much out of the middle, that it now looks like I'm missing a piece of my left eyebrow. I simply asked for them to be cleaned up and now they're completely reshaped in the center. What's worse is she somehow convinced me I needed my upper lip waxed (I know, I'm very gullible) and now I've woken up the next day with incredibly irritated, broken out, red skin. It's been about 18 hours since the procedure took place and it still looks awful. I rarely get these types of things done, so when I do spend money on them I expect things to be seamless. Found a discount on groupon for a Brazilian and did both the Brazilian and the under arm wax. Prices are affordable. The facility looks clean. Usha did a great job and was patient and reassuring. She did not rush through the waxing and asked me several times if I was ok and paused to give me a break. My only point of constructive criticism was the use of wax. At European wax, where I've always visited, they use a thick wax that doesn't require waxing strips. My Brows uses (yellow) eyebrow wax with the strips. Overall, very enjoyable I would recommend to my friends as an affordable alternative. read more

I found a deal of waxing from Groupon, and the price was fair for CBD kind. I'm pretty sure her name is Sumi. She DIDN'T wear gloves during the whole process, and she was honestly rough. There wasn't even any clean wipe to clean up, she just rubbed my skin with the tissue papers under my butt. After I found out that there were still a few hairs left, she threaded for me. That's the start of the real nightmare. It was very painful and when I got home I realized I had multiple wide cuts on my skin. And at the end of the whole process, the only thing she gave to soothe my skin was couple sprays of water. Seriously, I've never had any waxing experience like this. And the poor hygiene condition could possible cause my skin infection. If the owner would like to explain to me, please. I find it hard to understand how your whole setup is legal in NYC. I paid 12 dollars, which include tips and 2 dollars tax. And I would like them back. read more

Just found my new brow place! I usually get my brows done on a lunch hour and this place is perfectly close to my new office. It was quiet when I went in around lunch time, which surprised me. Usha did my threading and she was a magician with my special instructions. She just gets it. And very friendly! The place is small but clean and smells nice. They take good care of it. Best, the price was very reasonable. $12 total for a brow and lip thread, plus a little fee (about 50 cents - nbd compared to some other places) to use a card and tip. I was very happy and will definitely make this my regular spot for brows. They offer other services as well. read more

I recently found this place through a Groupon promotion. I came for one service and ended up having 2 things done on my initial visit. A couple weeks later I came back to try their signature service - to have my eyebrows done. I was scared of doing the threading thing but I'm glad I tried: Usha was very gentle and patient, and I'm happy with the result! Again, I ended up getting an extra service based on the feedback / suggestion I received from Usha. Usha and Kamla (who was also at the shop) enjoyed are not pushy and are very friendly. I enjoyed chatting with them. I believe that after the 2 visits I am already a "regular customer" since I'll definitely be coming back to My Brows. I visited this salon a month ago for the first time and had a good experience which is why I decided to go back the second time. My second experience was horrendous. I walked in and informed the salon woman that I have sensitive skin and she couldn't have bothered. She tried to go way to fast and harsh and peeled my skin off. Dropped wax on my hair and then started scrubbing it with oil. When I asked her to call the manager she called her and acted innocent saying she didn't do anything. No skin was peeled etc. She hesitated to give her name and later after several times she said her name for Simi. She was unprofessional, rude and didn't know how to help a customer after all the blunder she had done. I left the salon feeling extremely upset and am going to add photos for her owner and her. Letting them know the disaster they have done. The owner asked the woman not to charge me and she still did. On top of that when it came to the tip she was like "no tip right" I still gave her a tip since I didn't like the taunt. I will definitely not go back to this place and would advise other people to watch out too read more

I purchased a groupon voucher for $15 chocolate Brazilian wax decided to go today and it was a long walk from the train station I get there go into the waxing room which was small and overcrowded with things I looked on the website they say have sensitive wax I have very sensitive skin and I usually get cream waxes I asked if they had any sensitive skin products no reply she starts waxing it was too hot and it was very painful I had to tell her to stop a few times and switch over to the cream wax which I felt she didn't use enough of because certain areas down below I still felt pain will not be coming back here read more

Please save yourself time and choose somewhere else! This place may be good for brows, but they are clearly not well equipped to deal with brazilian waxing! The place is gritty and dirty. The bed was covered in spots and unlike how they advertise on their website, THEY DOUBLE DIP! I have been getting brazilians for more than 5 years and this was the absolute slowest ever. It took an hour, and no - not because I'm super hairy - the woman was so slow! She'd do one tiny bit at a time. Fine, if you're not in a rush, but you'd expect a thorough service right? I wish! When i got home, I had to use my epilator to get rid of what she'd left behind!! This has NEVER happened. It was not just a few stray hairs, entire patches were left behind!! The woman waxing me barely spoke to me, not even to ask about any preferences etc, and was just painfully inexperienced. The owner looked friendlier, but she was busy with another client. Also, this place charges 35$ for a brazilian if you walk in, but only 19 if you book it on Groupon. Just a heads up. You deserve better service than this, girls! read more

I told Sumi multiple times that she was cutting me and though I got threaded every two weeks this was the most pain I'd ever experienced. She continued unphased and of course the next day I'm covered in cuts....I love the other location of my brows on 33rd, I think the problem is just Sumi. Don't go to her no matter what. read more

Made it just in time before they closed today on a Friday (8pm). They were super sweet and still took their time to do a good job. Lady who did my brows was also really meticulous and careful - efficient but not rushing (I didn't feel like I sometimes do where I'm worried they're gonna accidentally grab my eyelashes because they move so quickly). I have been getting my upper lip threaded for about three years now. I have been getting my eyebrows threaded for even longer. This is definitely not the place to go to get your lip threaded. I went two days ago right after work because I have been looking for a new place thats more convenient, but regret it. I could literally feel the woman pulling skin. It was the worst experience I have ever had anywhere. I am not sure if this was because she was new or something, but it was so painful. The pain in general would have been fine, and warranted a 4 star review. However, my upper lip still burns two days later, yesterday I had redness and pimples all over. Today, the redness went away but the pimples are still there. Definitely would not recommend. As a student, I'm always hunting for deals on GroupOn and am excited when new waxing salons pop up. MyBrows did not let me down; I booked a Brazilian appointment but was running 10 mins late. Had sketchy cellphone service so unfortunately couldn't call ahead, but when I reached they saw me immediately anyway. It's a small, nice, and clean place with friendly, personable service. Niko did my wax and was constantly asking if I was okay, she switched on the fan when she saw I was starting to sweat, and did a great job overall. She even waited while I checked and pointed out a few missed stray hairs, which she took off immediately. I was in and out in 15 minutes!
