Great new salon in midtown Hoboken. The owner Celeste has done a fantastic job with creating a relaxing space that has a rustic uber chic charm. My stylist for the evening was Sasha and she did a super job on my single process and blow out. They were able to accommodate me at short notice and I left looking and feeling refreshed. Sasha was easy to work with and everyone else I spoke to at the salon was really nice and friendly. Honestly, I don't have the patience for snobby stylists and that's something that really puts me off! None of that here....the folks are thorough professionals and nice to be around. While all the other products they use at the salon (shampoo etc.,) are organic, the hair color they use is Wella. I'm happy with the way my hair looks and feels and the blowout Sasha gave me has held up well after 24 hours. Single process is $65 and a blowout is an additional $30 - it would be great if the blow out was included as part of the color treatment. First timers get 15% off. read more

I moved to Hoboken about a year ago and was nervous to find a new salon. I loved DePasquale in Morris Plains but it's too inconvenient to get to now. I heard about Salon Phoenix on Monroe from a friend and decided to try it out in March 2016. I had an appointment with Monica for a cut and hair painting - a little pricey from what I'm used to but first-timers get 15% off. My rating doesn't reflect the talent or vibe of the salon. It's strictly based on if I would go back - and the answer is no. I absolutely loved the decor of the salon. Very cute and relaxing. There's only 3 chairs in the salon so it was cozy and personable. I love the "no kids" rule; let's face it no one wants to hear children while their getting pampered. Monica was very sweet and we carried a natural conversation the whole time. The cut was great! Frankly I didn't like the product they used to color my hair. The technique doesn't involve saran wrap but rather dries up on your head. It was flaking a little but no biggie. I HATED the way it dried out my hair in the following weeks. It felt brittle even after deep conditioning it. This is really the only reason I wouldn't go back. I wish they would change the product because everything else was great. read more

Went to Salon Phoenix for a balayage with Celeste. She was running behind schedule and was kind enough to shoot me a text and let me know. If you are someone that worries about getting your hair done, Celeste is a great for a few reasons: 1. she genuinely wants you to be happy with your hair and listens 2. she tells you the number of ways you can get it done (glaze vs. low lights, full, half or express balayage). 3. helps you make a decision and talks you through the process. I got a glaze and express balayage. I'm very happy with my color and cut. I'm a brunette that had highlights before so the glaze helped make some of the blonde I had in my hair before look more natural and give my hair more dimension.
